Thanks Ana, Woo Hoo. Great game. Lots of extras to boot. Played ten minutes and bought it. I like the collector's editions. Maybe because I can never wait. I think the extras in this one is worth it. happydance

Another for my waiting list. Won't even try the demo. My retirement budget is stretched to the limit. In the meantime I'll enjoy reading all your opinions.

I usually wait too, NYLady. Have never bought a CE. BUT ... the first "Enlightenus" was a great game and this one is the largest file IHOG I've seen on BFG. I'm hesitating to even play the demo because I'm not sure I can hold out if it's really good. Think I'll wait to see the feedback from the GB community before I take the plunge. I'm already waiting patiently for the standard versions of two other games to be available - "Redemption Cemetary" and " Castle of Shadows". I've been playing a lot more since the weather in my part of the U.S. has been so steamy. Usually I'm out and about in the summertime.

Actually, Redemption Cemetary is a larger file download than Enlightenus II: The Timeless Tower; the full download of Redemption Cemetary is 441 MB. smile

I won't be buying this CE because I just finished Redemption Cemetery. Based on the demo, though, it's a beautiful game, and the fact that they include Forgotten Riddles: The Mayan Princess as one of the extras certainly helps with the $20 price point. It looks to be a very nice game indeed.

By the way, it was announced on Big Fish this past Monday that the Echoes of the Past: Castle of Shadows regular version will be out this week. smile

Thanks, Marian. I have a free game coming, so maybe I'll be able to hold off on the new "Enlightenus" and use my game credit for "Castle of Shadows".

Boy after what seemed like weeks of boring games, all of a sudden it's hard to decide what to buy. smile

I couldn't afford it either NYLady but the first one was so good. That little imp sitting on my shoulder made me do it. I think this game is going to keep me busy a long time. I love it!

I actually got to beta test a bit of this game a month or two ago. It played smoothly, looked beautiful. I liked it very much and will definitely be buying it.

my patience is almost worn out, but I'm trying to hold on until some of the Collector's Edition games are released in regular format

in the meantime, I'm amusing myself with some of the 60-minute trials of older games at Alawar - right now I'm playing The Otherside Realm of Eons

since I found Snark Busters there, I've been a devoted fan - they have a huge selection to choose from

I just finished playing the trial offer, it's not a bad game, but it's not exciting. The graphics are beautiful of course, but there is definitely something missing, especially after having played Redemption Cemetery and Asylum Conspiracy.

It wil be a farely long game I think, as I just finished the first of five or six timelines. It's challenging to figure out where the items go, and I used a lot of hints, because some things go where you would never expect them to go.

As for the extras, the only one I'd be interested in would be the Sketch Puzzle, and if it's only one, then paying $20 just isn't worth it. For those who already have Forgotten Riddles: Mayan Princess, as I do, it makes it even more unappealing to buy the Collectors edition.

I'll wait, there's plenty of game left to play.

I downloaded the demo and played for just a few minutes before I had to quit for a short time. I exited the game and the game manager popped up on my screen as usual. But when I tried to go back to the game, I kept getting the "another game is running" notice and was unable to get back in. I eventually needed to leave the house and my computer was shut down for several hours. When I returned, my trial time was used up. I contacted BFG and was told they can't reset the timer. But they were kind enough to issue me a code for a free game. Anyone else have this happen? Glad to have the coupon code, but frustrated that I can't get a taste of this game.

Hi, Marian!

That's great news about "Castle of Shadows". I'm surprised the regular version is being released so soon because the CE only came out a couple of weeks ago, but I never look a gift horse in the mouth lol !

I thought there would be some of you who would be glad to know this news, being as several tempting CEs have been released lately. grin

Sparkle, Ive had the "another game is running message". Just bring up task manager and click on the game that is running and "end process".

Thanks, Pokey. I didn't think of that. Usually if I wait a bit the game quits running on its own and the "another game" message goes away. Live and learn.

I've had a problem with Enlightenus, The Collector's Edition. In the British Museum you need to get a jacket which you will need later in the game to move on. I didn't get it. I checked their forum and someone else had the same problem.
BFG's support says this is not a reported glitch.
Anyhow, I'm at a standstill. Support suggests I start again and follow the strategy guide. Anyone else having a problem?

"Another game running" message happens alot. You'll learn to wait it out or go to Task manager.

Hi, Marian!

You've got that right lol ! I'm also waiting to buy the regular version of "Redemption Cemetery" Curse of the Raven", and the jury is still out on "Enlightenus II". I'm about 3/4 through the demo and it's taken me a while to warm up to it, but I think I'll probably buy the regular version when it's released.

Sparkle...have had the same thing happen to me, but BFG gave me a coupon also. They are good about that...but sure wish they could reload the time for us. But I understand why they can't, sure might be profitable for someone who is devious to "restart".

I also recommend like Pokey opening task manager. I have had it happen since on a game or two and I've shut them down with GM.

Good luck on your coupon game, whichever one you choose.

Jody

Okay. Here's my rationale for considering purchasing my first CE. I really want this game and have 2 free games coming. That means I have approx. $14 in credits for BFG games. Now, I know I can't use these credits for a CE. BUT ..., I'd likely spend the money anyway. So, I figure I'm not really spending more than usual in the end. LOL Now all I have to decide is whether to spend the extra money on "Redemption Cemetary" or "Enlightenus II". Decisions, decisions. smile

Here's my rationale for considering purchasing my first CE -- I've never used an integrated strategy guide before. It's my responsibility to see what that is like.

Good enough? grin
