It's all to do with the Knights Templar, who, on Friday 13th October 1307, the Grand Master of the Knights along with 60 other Knights were arrested in Paris. Basically the King of France owed them a substantial amount of money, he didn't want to pay them back and had them arrested so he didn't have to, much to the chagrin of the Pope at the time.
