I just bought the subject game at Best Buy and it should be the Collector's Edition with a built-in strategy guide plus an extra puzzle.

From what I can see there is no built-in strategy guide and I haven't gone far enough to know if it has the extra puzzle.

I contacted GameHouse and they say I should talke to Best Buy? I don't see how BB can help.

Anyway, I also tried to contact Encore.com (per the enclosed installation instructions) for support and they don't even list the subject game and their so-called registration site for the game also doesn't exist.

So, this is all very confusing and I was wondering if anyone else bought this game as a Collector's Edition and was having the same problem because I get the feeling the game I bought isn't truly a CE game; even though it states that on the box and CD label and the real kicker is I paid extra for the CE version.

Thanks,

Robert

Hmmm, this is strange. Did you look through all the files where the game installed to make sure that the strategy guide and jigsaw puzzle aren't maybe located elsewhere on the CD?

I read the description of the boxed CE on Amazon and it does say that those things are included.

There is supposed to be a bonus game as well as the strategy guide, jigsaw puzzle etc. Did you check the starting menu or look at the disk in explorer?

Thanks for the replies.

I was aware that the bonus game "Time Paradox" was included and it was on the disk.

It turns out the guide and extra puzzle game are in the folder where the game is loaded but not, as far as I can tell, available from the actual running of the game itself.

Unless I missed something, that just doesn't seem right. I'm sure that some people who buy the game would never think of looking in the game folder for those two items.

I finished the game and I still could not see the strategy guide or the puzzle game without going into the folder where the game is loaded.

I would like to write to the manufacturer to question them about the guide and puzzle game but I've tried GameHouse and encore.com with no luck.

If anyone has purchased the "collector's edition" I would be very interested in how they accessed the guide and puzzle game.

And if there is anyone who knows how to contact the right people to ask about the problem I experienced I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Robert

Are the publisher/developer GameHouse and Encore? If so, they are the correct ones to contact. Have you gone to their website and found a support email address?

Yes, I went to the GameHouse site and did an on-line chat session and all this person kept telling me was to contact Best Buy about the problem - I tried explaining to him that I couldn't see how Best Buy (who only sells the games but does not manufacture them) could help with this but to no avail.

I kept a copy of the chat session but will not include it here unless you feel it's appropriate because, to be honest, the support from GameHouse (at least in this case) was very poor.

As far as Encore, there was information on a piece of paper in the box which had an on-line registration site but it did not include the subject game and there was no way to put it in.

There also was an on-line site for Encore listed for support but there also their list of games supported did not include this game so I had no luck there.

I also sent an e-mail to Paprikari but haven't heard back from them yet.

Robert

P.S. As I said earlier I would also like to hear from anyone who has bought the boxed version of this game - not the download to hear what their experience was.

It sounds like you covered all bases Robert. I hope that someone who bought the retail version can answer your question.
