Sparkle, are you running Win7/64 bit? It seems to not run on that.

Yes, Ana. I guess that's the problem. Will BFG be able to fix this?

It's up to Vogat, the developer, I'm afraid. THere seem to be alot of people having that trouble, so hopefully it's an easy fix for them and they can issue another build.

Sparcle, I have Vista 64 bit and the game got frozen at the introductery scene. I contr. alt. del. it and started again. This time it came up in the small window. I went to the Options and checked the full screen. After that I played the whole demo without any problems including the introductery scenes. I don't know if it's safe to buy. The game is very good as usual.

I played the demo and it's a good game. Not sure if I will buy it right now. My card is filled so I may wait until I get my free game credit.

Hi, Ana!

Since I have Windows 7 64-bit, I won't even bother downloading the demo until I read that a fix has been issued. Thanks for the heads up.

So far so good. Lot's to do and very interesting story line. I have Vista and had no problems.

The strategy guide is not usable I guess, at least not for me, I click on it and the game freezes.

THe strategy guide takes you to the BigFish website to purchase it. It is not a built in strategy guide.

I hope they can get the problems solved. Vogat makes wonderful games. I'd hate to have to miss out on this one.

Susan,

Just for the heck of it, since I have Win7 pro, 64 bit, I dl'd the game demo to see if it would run and it does. I've played a few screens and haven't run into a problem.

Hi, Gil!

Thank you so much! I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I downloaded the demo and played for about 20 minutes without any problems, so maybe it's certain video or sound cards that's the problem, or outdated drivers. Since Windows 7 has been out for almost a year now, I can't see a developer releasing a game that won't run under that operating system.

Great! I hope you enjoy the game if you decide to buy it, Susan. I'm trying not to be a BAAGer right now, it's getting too darned expensive! Since there are a couple of games I "really" want to buy on disk coming out soon (like Black Mirror 3), I'm pulling in my horns on these Big Fish time passers. <g>

Hi, Gil!

I need one more game to complete my punch card for September, and I think I may just have found it because I was really enjoying the demo when time ran out lol ! I skipped a couple of puzzles because I didn't want to waste my entire hour trying to solve them, but I'll start over from the beginning when I buy it so I can take my time.

I feel your pain about BAAGing, and I've gotta say that those BF time passers can get rather expensive when you buy 6 a month to fill up the punch cards. Normally, I finish one game before starting another but, when BFG has one of its sales, I end up buying more than I intend to.

I really like this game. There's a lot of interaction and good puzzles. No problem running the game at all. The only problem I have is that I'm going broke. rotfl

I'm waiting until tomorrow to buy it because, with my luck, I'll buy it today and then BFG will send out some random savings coupon tomorrow morning.

Wondering if anyone knows how long it usually takes to get a rebuild on a game like this. I had some Punch Card credits saved up and was hoping to use one to get this game. Already lost patience and chose two other games. I would hope that once the incompatibility issue is resolved, this one will be worth paying for.

It depends on what needs to be redone. It can take an hour/days or weeks. Are you sure they are doing one?

Hi, Springchicken!

Enjoy! I bought it last week and didn't run into any problems, even though I have the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium.

My discount coupon is calling out to me, so off to BFG I go lol !

I'm one of those who had the Windows 7 problem with this game. Tried again today to play the demo and so far it's working. I'd like to take advantage of the BFG $4.99 Halloween Sale, but not confident that there won't be problems later in the game. No announcement yet in BFG game forum re: a fix. Anyone else with Windows 7, 64 bit tried playing the game again more recently?

ETA: Spoke to soon. Stopped playing the demo after a few minutes and returned later to find the game wouldn't start. Oh well. frown
