I have played through K'Veer and am now at Taghira, I have gotten my slate, drawn the anchor on it, gone to the hut, met Esher and set all of the valves to the right. Now, I must take my slate again and go to the lake which I have done a thousand times. Somehow I do not touch the slate correctly to bring it up to draw the picture because it keeps falling to the ground. I actually got it to come up last night a couple times and drew the picture and almost, almost beat the puzzle. But tonight I could not get the slate up again, I must have dropped it (a thousand times)slight exaggeration. What am I doing wrong when I try to get the slate to rise? Is there a special way to touch it so it will not drop? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sue you have to stand exactly in the middle in front of the frozen lake or you can't do it. I believe the walkhru has a picture of exactly where to stand to draw the symbol. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

The cursor seems to position you just a bit off, but I will keep trying. It sure is frustrating sometimes, and then I think that the rest of the game is going to involve slates so I had better get good at this! Thanks so much for your help, if I can do it once, I can do it again!

And thanks for the good luck wishes, I am going to need them!

Sue T this is one of the more difficult parts of the game. This game can be frustrating but it is worth finishing! Enjoy! wave

I wanted to let both of you know that I just crossed the bridge to the other side of the lake! I placed the slate in the Keep and am now ready to begin Todelmer. Gerry, you are entirely correct, that was so difficult, I never thought I would be able to finish it, but I did. I was about ready to quit playing the game, but I have played lots of games for quite a while now and never quit one of them, I really didn't want to start now. I want to thank you Gerry and Rushes too, for your support, thats what keeps us going sometimes. I am sure I will be back soon, I have a feeling this game is going to be one of the hardest I have ever played. Thanks again guys, Sue T.

I finally finished the game! It was very challenging, especially the drawings on the slates, but it was also very rewarding and the ending was so great. Myst games have the best endings, probably because they have such great story lines. I have played them all except for RealMyst and Uru. I thought Myst IV was a beautiful game. I sure would like to see more of these games in the future. Thanks again Gerry, for your help and support, it is good to know that you are there when the going gets tough.

Congrats, Sue! Those slates can be tricky, and buggy, but you made it through, and the reward is a really cool game.

Thanks for the update!

Dadguy :-)
