i recently had to send my laptop in to be worked on. dell said it was the lcd. when i got it back they said in a note that the hard drive needed replacing . i have saved everything and they sent me a refurbished harddrive. what my hubby and i are needing to know are the refurbished harddrives already formatted for when we install it before installing operating system back on

The hard drive will be partitioned and formatted when you install the OS - so no worries there.
