Hi Everyone,

I was hoping someone could suggest a good adventure game to play as I have a free game to select at BigFish. Also have checked all the boards for game info, but some just aren't right for me. Here's just a few of the games I've played and loved:

Awakening: Moonfell Wood
Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles
Awakening: The Dreamless Castle
Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's The Black Cat
Both Drawn games

Some I tried but didn't like:
Lost in Time: The Clockwork Tower (a little hard to see the coal & diamonds everywhere)
Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars (tried this one, but the font in the read areas is way to small for me to see)

Games that tell an interesting story, not dark and gloomy, last a while, fun to play and have a hint button would be ideal.

I would truely appreciate a suggestion. Thanks for any help. wave

spankie, your list consists of all casual games. Are you asking for a suggestion on a casual or a real point and click original adventure game. I need to know where to move this thread to.

Hi BrownEyedTigre,

Well, it's really hard to find new "old type" adventure games without spending a fortune. So, I've had to start playing the casual games. But, I am open to any suggestions. I do like the point & click adventure games but have played most of those games as my closet is full of them.

Any other suggestions? wink

Spankie, why don't you look at GOG.com GOG.com They are older games and you can download them. Good prices too.

So then, I take it you are looking for games that are like the ones you listed. I'll move this to casual forum.

Thanks Ana and Bets -
I'll check GOG.com when I have time to browse around. But I still need to select my free game at BigFish.

Spankie, if you liked Black Cat, I believe you might like some of the other games Big Fish has from the same developers. However, you said you didn't want "dark and gloomy," and yet Black Cat was kind of dark and gloomy, so I'm hesitant in recommending the others because they were similar in style. If you would like a list of their games, let me know.

I think you also might like Mystery Trackers: The Void. Have you played Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove and Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull?

Hi Marian,
Yes, I did find the Black Cat a bit dark and gloomy. That being said, think I would enjoy a more cheerful game. Seems a lot of games now are dark and gloomy. What do you think?

Haven't tried Mystery Trackers: The Void, that one looks interesting. But the Mystery Case Files do look dark and gloomy. Really enjoyed Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles, that was fun.

Thanks for your suggestions. wave

Have you tried Shaolin Mystery: Tale of the Jade Dragon Staff? I remember that one having a lot of vibrant colors and the game was of a good length, too. Meanwhile, I'll keep thinking about this. I do agree that particularly of late there have been lots of games that are on the dark and gloomy side. smile

Ah Marian, yes, I played my 60 min for free and it did look interesting. Just can't decide to use my free game on that one or not. That's the reason I posted here was to keep from downloading a ton of games to try.

Really do appreciate your suggestions and any others you might come up wtih thanks

Did you try Anka? It's an adventure lite that was fun.

Thanks Ana for your suggestion, truly do appreciate it, looks a bit childish and more of a shorter game for what I'm looking at right now.

Have you tried Murder She Wrote? It's more HOG rather than adventure, but there are fun minigames; the game also has voiceovers, tells interesting stories, and is quite long. smile
