WEll Becky, it looks like they still consider Drawn to be a casual. lol

Thanks Donald!

Sorry to see that Lost Horizon didn't win anything. It was the game of the year for me anyway. yes

Fun to see the results, though. I've watched some Heavy Rain playthroughs on YouTube, and it does have an excellent story. I'll admit it probably did deserve to win the award for that category. Too action oriented for my tastes, though, and besides, I don't have a PS3. I'll just stick to watching it like a movie. wink

I'm starting to enjoy the world all blurry. Are you sure?

It's likely to end up like Myst -- is it an adventure game or is it a puzzle game -- the Ongoing Conversation. shocked scared duh

If you're using that as a reference, you'll notice the write-up that went with that award fuzzes the picture right back up. wink Drawn is a legit adventure that was eligible for any of the main awards (and a game that we reviewed). It just happens to be a fairly streamlined one, which earns it a "casual adventure" distinction. Those two terms are not opposed. The hidden object hybrid games, on the other hand, we didn't consider for awards at all.

I don't see how the description given of "casual adventure" is really any different than a term we have used here frequently to characterize the Drawn games; namely, "adventure lite." "Adventure lite" was just a roundabout way of saying "casual adventure," correct?

It makes sense to me. smile

I would say that "adventure lite" and "casual adventure" are the same thing.

But then again, my eyes have now stuck in the "cross-eyed" position, just like my mother said they might if I kept them that way too long. So don't expect me to be seeing this stuff clearly. crazy

Has anybody seen my dictionary recently? I seem to remember wedging it in a door in some insane asylum or other.

At AG we use "casual adventure" and "lite adventure" interchangeably.

I just noticed your other thread on this topic, so I'll move the rest of my reply over there. smile
