Dear Boomers!

We at Frogwares studio are on the finishing stage of trimming the upcoming casual game Dracula Origin: Love Kills, a sequel to Dracula: Origin game which you rated high enough.

So putting the final strokes to the game, we got trapped with characters voicing, Dracula in particular. Thus our opinions are set apart right now. This is where we ask for your help!

Please suggest us your ideas towards how Dracula should sound.

Here is the newest Dracula image: click here

Here is Dracula: Origin cinematic with the previous voicing: Click here.

So we wonder if Dracula should have an “eastern” accent?
Should we change it to something more romantic and more sensual? Less aggressive?
Do you think we should remove the accent completely and have a well-educated English man accent?

Please share your thoughts and ideas.

Thank you, Gameboomers!

Hi Olga and thanks for asking!

I like the Eastern accent and add a bit more sensual tone to it.

Hi Olga,

I think the old voice sounds a bit cartoonish with it's exaggerated and stereotypical accent. I think a modern Dracula would sound like a well educated Englishman with a formal speech pattern and just a hint of a mysterious accent that one can't quite place.

Hope that helps!

I agree with the above, but I also think that the voice should be younger sounding, say someone in their 30's not someone in their 50 or 60's.

In the video, the voice did not match the character's age appearance at all.

I think the voice fit Dracula perfectly. It's the image that doesn't fit. Purely my opinion, of course.

As far as sounding his age, Dracula is several hundred years over 50 or 60 no matter what he looks like so I'm not sure his voice shouldn't reflect more maturity than he appears to have.

I like both images. Hmm, maybe the new one better. As for the voice, keep the old one with the accent. That's what Dracula is all about, after all. Or have a lightly younger voice with the Eastern European accent.

In either case, I want the game!

Please don't take this as being argumentative, but to have an older voice coming out of a younger looking person is just not realistic.

I think it important that if a game is to have voice acting, then it should reflect the actual characters and their image. Whether it is an older or younger looking Dracula, his voice should match what we would expect to hear, from looking at that image.

Whether it is menacing or suave, doesn't matter, that depends on the story line.

I also believe that if voice acting is included in a game that it be acting the part and not just reading the lines of the character.

Regardless of how old Dracula actually is, it is the image he is portraying at the time that should direct how the voice should sound.

Dracula has been portrayed at many different ages, in many movies, all sounding like you would expect that person to sound. Not someone like say Brad Pitt sounding like Bela Lugosie.

In my humble opinion.

The new image looks like a modern young man, but he is the Dracula, a supernatural, demonic presence and that's what the voice should convey. The more dissonance between the image and the voice, the better. The old voicing is good. I wouldn't like to see Dracula as a realistic percona with a matching realistic voice. Just my opinion of cource.

I thought the image was superb. The voice was way too slow. In my (never to be humble opinion lol) I would like to hear a Sean Connery James Bond type of voice. Sort of like the low voice he uses when He says "Bond! James Bond" Does anyone remember how Anthony Hopkins played "Hannible Lecter"? He had a choice of playing a "Maniacal" type of person, or extreamly sophisticated and suave. As everyone agreed, he "Killed It" (no pun intended) playing the suave character. You just knew that behind that charm was a monster, and it made Him all the more scary.
