This is a great game, but where is the hint button? I have tools, but no hint.

Someone on the Big Fish forums asked the same question and someone else answered that it was "left under." This was a bit awkwardly worded, but is there a hint button somewhere near the bottom left of the game screen?

I'm still downloading the demo.

Can't see it. I had it when I first started the demo, but when I used one of my tools, the hint button disappeared. Just have one big round tools button now. Can't see the hint anywhere.

Well, I just started up the demo and I am not seeing a hint button either. Curious. I'll keep an eye on the Big Fish forums and try to figure out what's up.

I sent a text message, I'll let you know as soon as I get an answer.

EDIT: The Hint button only appears in HO scenes.

Funny I didn't have any trouble finding the hint button. Every scene I had it.

See my edit Richard. It should not be in any scene except for the HO ones.

Thanks, Ana. I appreciate it. I know I don't have the very latest version of my video drivers installed but that is because after installing them a couple months ago I got the blue screen of death. After informing Big Fish of this, they said by all means keep the driver version that I am presently using, as I've had zero problems with these drivers in terms of things displaying properly. wave

EDIT: Just saw your note, Ana. I feel confident now that I will see the hint button when I am supposed to. lol slapforehead

Thanks everyone. At least I know the game is working properly now. I still wish it would show up all the time.

kjos - I agree. Time for a coffee.

Hi, everyone!

I find myself stuck in the demo, there is no walkthrough and the Strategy Guide is only available in the full version. I lowered the bridge but have come to an area where it looks like I need some boards or something else to cross over the gap. I'd appreciate a push in the right direction.

Thanks!

Susan

I didn't get that far in the demo and I'm in the process of downloading the full version now. I'll see if I can figure it out on my own and will get back to you, if someone else doesn't happen along in the meantime. wave

EDIT: I just reached that spot.

Click to reveal..
You need to go back across the bridge and cut the rope that is wound around the beams by the guardhouse (use the knife on it). Then go back across the bridge and use the wooden beams on the gap.

Hi, Marian!

Thanks! That did the trick and I was able to cross the bridge. I'm stuck again, but there's only 17 minutes left in the demo, so I have to decide whether I want to buy it now or wait until next month.

Hi everyone. I've been playing alot of HOGs lately but forgetting to come back here to post about how I liked them! So I'll start w/ this one and maybe over the weekend get to each one that I've bought and played lately. smile

I love this series-the graphics are just gorgeous and the there's a creepy/beautiful feel to the all of the games, this one included. I love how there's a nice mix of exploring, then solving a puzzle, then an HOG scene, and so forth. It keeps it mixed up and interesting so you're not always doing the same repetitive things over and over again.

I haven't bought this one yet (waiting til the weekend when I get paid) but I will be buying it for sure. There's something so different and enjoyable about these games and they're among my favorites now that I've discovered casual gaming!

btw---I have to admit though that the little spider-doll things scare the heck out of me! UGH!

lol

Is this right at the beginning of the game? If so, you need to:

Click to reveal..
go south and take a look at the sign that you loosened near the bridge. There are three symbols of animals on the sign. Make a note of which animals are there. You need to push the same symbols of animals on the rock.

I really enjoyed the first two so thought I would give this one a go. The graphics/artwork on it are beautiful & I just love the start screen on it. The puzzles were excellent, I thought, & very challenging - I had a go at all of them but did skip a couple! There were just a few too many HOG screens for me - just a personal preference as I've really gone off them! smile

I've got a problem. I'm in the bonus section, almost done. I'm in the HOG scene where you get the hacksaw. I need to find a bird. There is only one bird showing, but I can't get it. I select hint to make sure there is no other bird, and the hint gives me nothing. I have waited for it to load again and selected hint again, still it won't select anything.

I have left the scene and come back, same thing. I have closed the game and reloaded, same thing.

The stategy guide shows a different scene, with no bird, which is strange because the scenes are basically the same you just need to find different things, but it doesn't even show the bird.

I don't know what to do other than start over and I don't want to do that. I want to finish the bonus section.

Flo, I just finished the bonus section with no problems (although I did have to use the walkthrough at a couple points). I don't remember the details of the hacksaw hidden object scene, unfortunately. Are you sure there isn't another bird somewhere? There were a few items in this game that I never would have found on my own. Is there anything in this scene that you open or close in order to reveal more objects?

When something is hidden it is usually coloured print, this isn't. The guide was no help because the scene had different articles to find, and it didn't show a bird. The is no other bird, if there was you'd think the hint button would go there, but the hint button won't go anywhere, like there is nothing to find.

Perplexing.

It's the scene where you need a hacksaw to cut the old bike.

It has a closet with a door that opens.

Sorry, didn't realize I already posted previous message.

No problem. smile

Otherwise, I have no idea what's going on with your game. If I can find anyone mentioning this on the Big Fish forum for the game, I will let you know. Like you, I sure wouldn't want to have to start over. headscratch

Not to worry, I had a nap, and came back and found it right away.

There was another bird, but for some reason I wasn't seeing the hint going there.

Anyway, problem solved as usual.

Thanks Marian

Tried the game but got stuck on two hidden object areas. One was where I had to find the lever in the saloon object search. Despite using the hint and clicking all around the circled area nothing happened. The other was in the Bedroom in the cupboard. Had to find the grapes but again nothing happened.
Is it because of windows 10 or an error in the game?

welcome to GameBoomers, lisateach.

It's hard to say for sure what the issue might be here. I don't believe it's an error in the game per se, as many of us played this years ago with no problems.

Have you tried watching a YouTube video for the game? That could be helpful too, to see someone play through this section.

Otherwise, I would try writing to Customer Support about this. I have read recently that Customer Support is fully functional now and that people are hearing from real representatives again if you follow the correct contact procedures. It's worth a try.
