What do those letters mean when they are listed after the title of a PC game? Is the game different some how then ones with out them? Anyone know? Thanks.

You can find an explanation here.

(Thanks to MaG, for answering that on a previous thread)

Thanks for the reply but the link sent me to Wiki not to MaG's previous thread. It was far too technical for me. I derived from there the MBX (type of chip?) is used in portable devices such as cellphones etc, so that did not help much in answering my question as to how it pertains to pc games. I tried a seach here and still couldn't find MaG's thread.
Mainly what I wanted answered is there any difference when a pc game has this listed in the game title or description then a pc game that does not list those letters? Are they different versions? Is it just some technical information some developers choose to add or not in their game information?

Thanks.

It seems to have to do with how the game visuals are coded. The MBX seems to be a new type that they may be using for less power consumption. And as you say it's technical information for the buyer who is interested in that part of the development of the game.

This is not a expert opinion, just what I can get from the Wiki article.

Thanks again Ana for responding. You too sarahandus. I read through the thread you linked and it seems no one there had much to offer and a "techie" never dropped in to contribute. This was for another Viva game Alter Ego.
I had searched some for more info about those letters as how they pertain to an actual game and couldn't find much.
If as you say sara, from what you derived from that small wiki paragraph, that is what it is then why aren't all the editions of a game from the same company labeled with that? I would still think there may be some difference between them. Thanks again for the help. smile

IMHO, every Wiki geek should run these explanations by his mother before posting them. They should pay the mother half the salary of her geek-child, just to make sure that technical explanations are understandable by other people. idea
