Hey Gameboomers,

I wanted to share a link to the cover art for the upcoming horror game for iPad and PC "Relics: Dark Hours"!

The game is currently in the final stages of Beta testing and will be released this summer.

Check out the image on our facebook page here:

Thanks Bryan

Looking good! Where will we be able to purchase the game from?

I am curious though...since the game features real actors why does the cover art have drawn characters?

Hi GreyFuss,

Thank you. The game will be available through Big Fish for PC and the Apple Store for iPad.

The game does feature real actors but the cover art is simply that, cover art. Like many movies where the advertising poster is painted.

That is a shame, too bad. I don't get it. Why have cover art if it is only going to be available for download and through Big Fish only? In the 2 times I have dealt with them I had terrible experiences with them and will never deal with them again. Another good adventure game bites the dust at Big Fish..

BigFish has top notch customer service and unlike other publishers that have caused the demise of many adventure game developers by not paying them, the developers get paid by BigFish. It's a smart business choice because it will have huge exposure and the more sales, the bigger the profit to make a new game.

That is a shame and a poor choice if you ask me. Big Fish is the last place I would look for a game. They can't have top notch customer service if they have unsatisfied customers. duh

Guess its gonna happen more and more and I'll end up having to just go with it. frown

But I do want to say that the game looks really good. smile

Gamer,
You took the words out of my mouth. This D/L is the way of the future and I guess I will go kicking and screaming into the future if I continue to play adventure games. frown

Totally aside from download vs box, I don't see that the cover art is anything to brag about. It tells you nothing about the game other than that it has something to do with a skinny guy and a guy whose belly is straining at his pants beckoning someone whose back is to you into a highschool. Only the dreary colors and the positioning of the characters indicate that something unpleasant might be going on here but does it project an air of menace? Not to me. That pair above might just as well be saying, "You're late for algebra again, bud. Detention and two demerits".

The cover art looks very nice too me. You can burn the game to disc, and print out the cover art and voila.

I never download games smirk.

If it doesn't come in a box or case I don't buy it.

I said this before, I treat my games as a good book.

I treasure them catrub, place them on a shelf and pick them up from time to time,

remembering the adventure I had with the game hearts.

I may re-play a game just as I may re-read a book.

You cannot do that with a download.

Hopefully I will always be able to find one in a box happydance.

Looks cool! I do prefer a hard copy myself, but D/L has undeniable advantages. And I like the cover art!

I am pretty sure Big Fish has the option, when you are purchasing, to send an actual hard disc, along with the download. It does cost extra (but doesn't everything these days?).

I have been using Big Fish for several years, with only one or two issues, which the Big Fish staff worked through with me. I am sorry that other people have not experienced the great service I have received ~

If the game is over 600MB then you cannot get the game on disk. It is not an option for their "Large File Games".

I agree wihth Trinny3 about boxed vs download. I have and will continue to download a game from GOG if there is one I want - saving the game to my PC&a CD&Passport - but for practical reasons I prefer a hard disk (I tinker with PC settings) otherwise I would be spending most of my time re-downloading games.
I appreciate the book analogy and heartily agree with it. Old-fashioned perhaps; Kindles and the like are interesting; but holding a book in my hands seems to inhance what I am reading.
