Hi,

I know this is a pretty old game but I hope someone can help. I'm at the level of the first quiz which I did first on my own then went back and replayed using the walkthrough, but no matter what I do Holmes says "we must have made a mistake", it's driving me crazy. I've looked for a patch but haven't found one. Any ideas?

Thanks,

funkyhippy

Hi funkyhippy,

Ah, these quizzes. woozy It's likely that you need to re-check the dialogues you've chosen. Some characters have more than one dialogue to choose from, so be absolutely certain you have the correct one that correlates with the question being asked. The Colonel, for example, has two dialogues, but it is the second that needs to be selected for the first question.

If you still have problems come back and let us know.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try that.

Well, I just went over the answers again and still can't seem to get it right. I seem to recall this is the reason why I gave-up playing this game when I bought it, the quizzes are frustrating!

Thanks for the saves, but I'm not sure how to use them. I have Windows 7. Once I have the download how do I put it in the save file?

Once you've downloaded the file to desktop, it'll need to be extracted from its zipped format. (Right click on the zip folder, select Extract, and then remove the save file from inside.)

See if the save folder for this game is inside your Documents folder. If not -- try a file search.

The save will need to be renumbered so that it will appear as the last numbered file in the folder. Then copy & paste or drag & drop the renumbered file from desktop into the save folder.

Keep us posted.

When I right click on the download window which shows the zip file the options are: Open, Open Containing Folder, Copy Download Link, Select All, and Remove from list. If I open the folder it contains a JPEG image and a Readme which is a Text Document. I have found the Save folder in the game where I suppose your save will would go.I just don't know how to use the file I downloaded.

The JPEG image is all you need -- it contains the file data, even though it only looks to be a picture. Move that file to your desktop and renumber it, then move it into your save folder along with all your other saves. You're almost there! Once you start up the game again and go into the load screen, you'll need to scroll ALL the way back to the beginning of your saves to find your new one, as they will be in date order, and this is an old save. luck
