Good point, Becky.
As we get more and more "imported" games, the cost and time to do English translation will increasingly dictate if an English release would ever see the light of day.
It saddens me to see the entire "industry" for our genre had reversed as compared to two decades ago, at a time when non-English countries would rarely receive native translation of an English adventure game previously released in the US.
It's interesting what he said about the translation costs (meaning hiring a good translator and writer so that the game dialog is as good as if it were written in the original language) are so expensive as to discourage translating the game at all.
