The series is simple but fun. Always happy to see a new one!

I've uncovered what I assume may be a problem, thought I'd check with you folks. In the Historical Society, just over halfway through the game (13 of 25) one of the clues is to "clean the glass". There's a towel, and a handprint on the glass, so I figured no problem. The towel picks up, just as suspected. But it won't clean the handprint. So, I tried the "hint", and it points to exactly those 2 items. A hundred times and different locations on the handprint I've tried to apply the towel. No luck. Has anyone else run into this? This is v 1.0.0.0

Roger, I haven't played this game so have no experience with it. What I can tell you is that I don't see any posts that mention this on the Big Fish forum for this game; usually if there is a problem of this or a similar nature, folks start posting about it right away.

Maybe someone else who has played to this point in the game can offer some additional input. wave

I can't find anything posted on BF forums on this. Have you tried exiting out and restarting? Some times that helps.

You could also try uninstalling and reinstalling the game; that sometimes fixes strange glitches. You shouldn't have to start the game over when you do this; the game should save your profile.

Hi Ana! laugh

Thanks! You guys are quick!
I've restarted several times, it just seems so odd because the Mystery PI series is always so clean, ya' know what I mean? BTW, I didn't purchase this from Big Fish, I purchased directly from SpinTop, and I don't think they have a help forum.

Has anyone here successfully completed the level? I ask, because now I'm totally stuck; can't move on because I already said "yes" to "do you want to find more items". Arrggghhh

There aren't a lot of posts in the Big Fish forums, but I do see someone there who has finished the game. What I don't know is if the game gives you the same lists of items to find every time, so can't say for sure if this person successfully completed your level with the same items. I seem to recall that these games don't have the same list every time, though--correct me if I am wrong.

I'll let you know if I can find any more info about this. You could write to Spintop, though, describing your problem. wave

OK, thanks! I was wrong about being "stuck" though. At least I was able to go back to the menu and continue on to the puzzle portion, I just can't get a perfect score.

No big deal now, so thanks for all your fantastic assistance, each of you! You're the best.

Roger,
There is a spray bottle that you have to use first and then use the rag on the hand prints. I don't remember exactly where the spray bottle is but think it is close to the glass on the floor. Hope this is helpful. idea

Kathy - thank you SO much for that! That makes perfect sense, I don't know why I didn't think of that - I should have looked around for another item! (You can now guess how clean my house is....)

Now I'll just have to play the game over (which I'd do anyway) to get that perfect score. I was about a third of the way through before I realized I should have been finding cameras in each level too (for bonus points). Thanks so much for that! I would have been surprised if there was such a big glitch in a Mystery P.I. game, they're always so polished (one of the things I like about them).

Your assistance is greatly appreciated! It is indeed most helpful!

BTW - I think the Mystery P.I. series are among the best HOGs available, but then I like things kind of simple, as long as they're honest. Their mini games aren't too challenging, but they're just frequent enough to break the monotony.

This one is just a trifle more difficult than their previous ones, which is just perfect because they're still honest games. Thanks again to all of you for your assistance!

Kathy, thanks so much for clarifying this level in Counterfeit Cove. Much appreciated! bravo

Roger, I agree with all that you said about this Spintop series of games. I think they are the best at what they do, and they always deliver what we are expecting. yes wave

You're welcome
I agree about this series, I still enjoy these games even though I like the IHOGS and the adventure HOGS (forgot the abrevation for that one - getting old I guessthink) and the lite adventure games. I often play them more than once. rah
