One of my all time favorite games was the first "Aura" ( I think "fate of the ages"). I sure would like to play this again, anyone know of a source where I can get this? thanks

If you want the "Boxed" version then maybe a place like Ebay or Amazon, CD Access has it for $24.99 (a bit too expensive for an older game, just my opinion).

If you don't mind a "Download" games, GamerGate has it for $4.95

Thanks Starcom, just finished downloading from Amazon for 5 bucks. When I play this game I remember what attracted me to the genre to begin with; and another part of me says "what happened to adventure gaming?" This game is about 7 years old but its light-years ahead of anything I've played recently. Maybe in 7 years I've just become a grumpy old man. Get off my lawn!

I have it too. Forgot what it was about. Will have to check Draclvr's post and see if it plays on Win 7.

You can always try the Trading Post and ask if anyone has a copy they would like to sell.

I played Fate of the Ages and The Sacred Rings. I loved them both...great graphics! I see that Streko-Graphics has a page for Aura III: Catharsis but I don't see anything about a release date. I did some searches for Aura III and did find that the game "appears" to be available in French and possibly Russian. I'd love to get an English copy if it ever becomes available.

Did you ever stop to think and then forget to start again?

I'd completely forgotten about seeing that page a while back.
I'm certainly on board when Aura III finally comes out!

Aura 1 was, for me, one the most pleasant gaming surprises I've ever had. Very unassuming at first glance, but once I dug into it I found the puzzles to be quite good and the game environments awe inspiring. In fact, it turned out to be one of the better games of its kind.

Though I never got around to the sequel as I heard it diverged rather disappointingly from the first game's Myst-like feel to more of an inventory puzzler.

I re-played both of the Aura games a few months back on my new Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit computer, and both played flawlessly. I say "new", but it's already 6 months old. Time sure does fly when you're having fun. happydance

Yes, the second one put more attention on the story and less on the puzzles. The locations weren't as "fairy-tale-pretty" either, and the Shadow Region was downright grim. The "puzzle density" was a lot lower (compared to the first Aura) in the early parts of the game. The Shadow Region actually had the best puzzles. Unfortunately it also introduced those obnoxious "puzzles" where the only way you could know not to go somewhere was to die first and restore from a save. Still worth playing, but a bit of a disappointment compared to the first Aura.
