I've got to say it..so many great old adventures that now run on Windoze 7 !!!

I've just had a blast with Amber (had a cracked CD..thank goodness for E-Bay) and Lighthouse!

I'm going to dig out Grim Fandango. I've seen that Pamela Adlon (the voice of Bobby Hill in King of the Hill) was the voice in "Escape from Monkey Island" as "Dainty Lady Figurehead" and better yet as Pugsy and Carla in Grim Fandango!

I guess she's also in some newer live action shows that I don't watch on a regular basis !

Gotta love show biz !!

If you dig out Grim, ChuckO, be sure to download the launcher. Without it, you probably won't be able to run it even on Win 7.

Does Amber actually run on Windows 7? Does it need tweeking or can I just pop in the CD and install it?

My impression was that Amber pretty much doesn't run at all on any OS since Win 95. Am I wrong? lol I'm so expert at being wrong!

I played it on my first computer which had Win 98 2E. It was the first game that really scared me - the underwater maze - thought I'd never get out. I'd love to play it again, but I guess that's not going to happen

Look in Glitches and Patches, search for Amber, Uncle Reg has the details in one of his posts. A site called squirtthecat I think. It works well under Win7..a few lockups so save often. Saves in My Documents. There is a glitch on the computer password entry puzzle, but there's a save game on the site to get around that issue. I made a virtual CD to finish the game. It was faster and I managed to crack my original CD about 3/4 of the way through. Found one on-line for 10.00, case and all!
