Hi, this is probably the ultimate noob post. smile

After reacquainting myself with adventure games it looks like I missed the best of them and can't get it via download. I'm looking to buy Grim Fandango.

If there is a legal download of this game that I can buy and have missed, please reply here to tell me. If my chances of finding this game are almost zero, please reply and tell me that too.

There are no legal download places but someone may have an original they do not mind parting with.

BobH,

Amazon has Grim Fandango but it's ridiculously overpriced, starting at about $45 for the jewelcase. (For which I paid $15 about that many years ago.) If I were you, I'd wait. I saw somewhere that Lucas Arts is thinking about issuing some of their old games on Steam. And there is also the wild hope that GOG will make a deal with them to sell their old games DRM free. (Oh, please, oh,please!) Go ahead and play some that you haven't enjoyed yet (Maybe Zork Grand Inquisitor or GK2, The Beast Within?) and keep your fingers crossed unless you just can't wait.

Gil.

Btw, both ZGI and GK2 are available for download DRM-free on GOG.com and very reasonably priced.

Thanks Ana and Gil! thanks

That's good advice Gil. I'm still learning about the various ways to get and play older games. I got Syberia (I & II) through BigFish and I just finished downloading the Monkey Island collection from Steam. There are so many good games out there that I haven't played yet I will just keep watching to see what happens with Grim Fandango. Considering how much it is loved it seems like it must become available again through some outlet. thumbsup

Oh, and I am looking at GOG now. laugh

BobH, I don't think it's going to hurt that Grim Fandango topped the list of the Top 100 All-Time Adventure Games on Adventure Gamers. Surely Lucas Arts will finally sit up and take notice.

There are quite a few Grim Fandango games for sale on Ebay in the UK.

Maybe one of those sellers would ship to wherever you are ??

Worth an enquiry I would have thought grin

On the Amazon site they have new and used versions of Grim Fandango for sale with quite a range of prices. I never bought a used game from them but here's the link in case you're interested.

Thanks everyone for the replies but after what Gil posted, I think I will wait and see if it gets released online by Lucas.
