I received a very interesting e-mail from GOG today. Apparently, they are now selling The Whispered World, DRM free - The Whispered World. Think I will get it myself in a couple of months. I already own it, but a version without Securom would definitely be preferable.
Interrogator: [True or false?] All mangoes are golden. Nothing golden is cheap. Conclusion - all mangoes are cheap.
Helena: Where are these mangoes?

I trust my Boomers on here. COuld someone tell me if this was a fun game? Does it run well on older PCs?Decent graphics, good story, etc?
One of the reasons I'm asking is: I have a relatively good (though 5 yrs old) Dell XPS-PC,still running WinXp Sp3. Powerful games play fine on my PC...but Ive read more than a few posts with people having problems with (skipping) sound and missing animations playing this game....on all kinds of systems. I realize some of this may be due to not u[dating sound drivers or video cards, etc. But...there are more than a few complaints online about the technical issues with WHispered WOrld. Have any of you here played it on somewhat older PCs runing WinXp without problems? THis game can be picked up in stores for $7 in jewel cases...or for $6 online through Steam. I would rather...MUCH rather...use GOG,so I'll pay more for it if it will run well. Thanks Rob

I've played the demo on my 8½ year computer. It ran fine, except maybe a crash at a certain point, but a quick relod helped here I'm using win xp and an ati radeon 3650 512 MB videocard. As for the game itself, it is well worth getting. I'm planning to get it someday As I mentioned above, I've played the demo. It ran fine, sound and video were ok as were the textures etc. To add to this, a review for this game was posted in one Denmark's biggest newspapers. This game got a 5 or maybe even a 6 star rating. And after playing the demo, these stars are well deserved.
Adventure gaming is fun
