maybe this should go into Technical problems. I'm not sure. I just bought this JP 2 and JP 3 from GOG and cannot get some of the things to work. I'm trying to follow a walkthrough and when it comes to using the cheese, it won't squirt, it just goes back into inventory. Also, after I have saved and exit, it won't come back to the save. Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi Razzle --

I played this one years ago. I remember the cheese! (You are adrift in space when you're trying to get it to squirt, right?)

Another idea -- have you "examined" the Cheese Girl to find the info that it is made of pressurized Cheese? You may need to have that info before it'll work.

I'm not sure about the squirting, but the saving issue does sound more like a glitch. Would you want to post that problem in the Glitches forum to see if the experts there can help?

EDIT: I just remembered that I have the Buried in Time Official Strategy Guide -- thought I'd have a look for how to save your game.

You know what? The Guide has 258 pages, and not one mention of how to save your game.

Sheesh! frown

Allow me to ramble on without really knowing what I am doing;

I am playing JP3 right now, and you do need to be careful with your saves. I suspect JP2 uses the same protocol. Be sure to provide a unique filename each time you save, and also be sure to select the filename you last used in order to get back to where you were. I know I sound like a first grade teacher, but we have all gotten casual about how we save recently, since games do it so automatically these days.

I also remember the cheese in JP2 being fussy; it won't work in space (zero gravity environment) but I always wondered why not? it's like a rocket, sort of. "Equal reaction" and all that.

Told you I was rambling happydance

Cheese Girl doesn't work in space? Why do I have such a strong memory of propelling myself through space that way? lol

Good times, good times. Even if it never happened. Sigh.

I re-started the game and this time the cheese worked. The save function is a bit weird, but if you play around with it, it works.
