I downloaded this game from GoG just recently. I have played it through twice without any technical problem. I am now on my third time through - trying for a perfect score - and ran into a problem.

After getting the ledger sheet from Leber I went to Buchenau. I talked to Dorn and then went to get the money. When I returned I went through all the conversation with Dorn and then went down to the wolves cage, encuntered the tiger and went back for the meat. When I got back I tried to go down to the cage but when I clicked on either exit at the bottom, Dorn and Gabriel disappeared. When I clicked on exit again they reappeared but clicking on exit lost them. I can't get down there.

I tried from an old saved game and this time got the meat when I got the money. The same problem.

I uninstalled the game (keeping my save games)
and redownloaded it from GoG. Same problem.

I'm running Windows 7 with a 64 bit system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Darrall, to GameBoomers.

Hmm, I'm not sure how to get around that problem without resorting to another's save game -- which might ruin your chances of a perfect score run. Let's wait and see if anyone has any suggestions other than what you've tried so far.

It sounds like a game glitch that you might overcome by replaying over certain scenes.
This is quite an old game (even after GOG tweaking) that might hiccup every once in a while. Video maybe?
Maybe play in compatibility mode. That might slow things down and the video to catch up.

Have you tried to purchase the meat before you even get to the tiger? I am replaying this game now and didn't have a problem there but I bought the sausage before I saw Dorn. I hope this helps.

Well I just got to that spot again and (I thought) the same thing happened. Then I noticed I had an action cursor in one spot. I clicked on it and it got me to the cage. I got the wolf tags then I took a look at what had happened. The thing is the video just swaps ends (which look almost the same) and Dorn disappears and Gabriel is switched from 3rd person to 1st person so it looked like they both disappeared.

Boy...do I feel stupid
