Boy oh boy, this was really tough for me. I did find out just how many, many games I have started and never finished, so my list isn't very much diff from last year. If that's due to not completing the games, or all the games I DID finish couldn't measure up to the oldies, uuummm ?????????
Journeyman 3-Legacy of Time TimeLapse Zork Nemesis Riven Myst DiscWorld Broken Sword 1 Broken Sword 2 Sanitarium Zork - Grand Inquisitor Atlantis 1 - Lost Tales Legend of Kyrandia 2 Shivers Faust Ring

Hi there, Over 100 games mentioned already, with almost 30 of them not being on last years list. Some of those are obviously new releases, but "non-new" ones include Rent a Hero, Fable, Secrets of the Luxor, Noctropolis, Dark Seed and Twinsens Odyssey. Most recommended so far is The Longest Journey, with Myst, Riven and GK2 close behind. I am away with work this week so will post the next up-date next weekend.

Gawd this is hard... I simplified the series dilemma by picking IMHO the best of the bunch - figuring if you play one - you'll seek out the rest (I did)
Sigh _ I hate limits
In no order of preference
1. GK2 - The Beast Within 2. Atlantis 2 3. Journeyman 3 4. The Dig 5. Curse of Monkey Island 6. The Longest Journey 7. Grim Fandango 8. S. Holmes: The Case of The Rose Tattoo 9. Black Dahlia 10. Pandora Directive 11. Zork Grand Inquisitor 12. Circle of Blood/ BS 1 13. Outcast 14. Spycraft (great realism game) 15. Exile (what was I thinking of - I left this off)

I haven't (yet) played 15 games I'd recommend, maybe next year? I do have some of your recommendations on my shelves Anyway, here's my list in alphabetical order: Day of the Tentacle Myst Obsidian (haven't finished playing yet but I'll still recommend it) Riven Simon the Sorcerer Simon the Sorcerer 2 Zork Grand Inquisitor Zork Nemesis Wouldn't it be interesting to make a list with all the games we'd never ever recommend to our worst enemys? Ah, the list: I have been asked to edit my list and not include series so here goes <gumble, grumble> The Pandora Directive Under a Killing Moon Tex Murphy Overseer Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers Gabriel Knight The Beast Within Gabriel Knight 3 (senior moment) The Dig Realms of the Haunting Dark Side of the Moon DVD Cydonia Shannara Death Gate Mission Critical Zork Grand Inquisitor The Longest Journey If we could do honorable mention and I know we can't I would have chosen these, too. <grining as she's being passive-aggressive> Sherlock Holmes and the Rose Tattoo Ark of Time Timelapse Riddle of the Sphinx The Monkey Island Series Planescape Torment (felt like an adventure) Callahan's Crosstime Saloon Great, great games! These are the some of the ones that stick in my memory, even though I haven’t played some of them in ten years. There are many other worthy candidates mentioned in other’s lists, and some yet unmentioned that I haven’t completed yet.
1. Broken Sword : Circle of Blood 2. Byzantine: The Betrayal 3. The Dig 4. Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers 5. Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within 6. Gabriel Knight: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned 7. Grim Fandango This one made me upgrade my video card and buy a new joystick. 8. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis I played the floppy version. The CD version talks now. 9. The Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time 10. The Longest Journey 11. Monkey Island, The Secret of My first adventure game. Although dated, it will always have an honored space on my game shelf. 12. Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon I bought a new computer to play this one. It was worth it. 13. Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive 14. Tex Murphy: OverSeer The first DVD game I know of. 15. Torrin’s Passage
The Tex games are my favorites of all time. I’m also pleased to see that many of the games in my To Play Pile (I’m only a semi-BAAGer, about 25) are somewhere in these lists. It will be interesting to see what the list looks like next year.

I had to defer posting my list of 15 top games until I had a chance to do enough of MYST EXILE to know whether it would get in the list. Yes, although I have only completed the Voltaic Age, I am sure that it would make it. Since only the presence or absence on the list counts, i.e., no weighting as to order of merit, I will list them alphabetically.
BLACK DAHLIA BLACKSTONE CHRONICLES BYZANTINE CYDONIA FAUST MYST MYST EXILE OBSIDIAN RAMA REAH RING RIVEN SHIVERS TIMELAPSE ZORK NEMESIS
Ah, it is hard to stop there. The trouble is, I have enjoyed almost all the games that I have played, thanks to taking advantage of the recommendations of knowledgeable Boomers. Thank you kindly!
