the complete edition of Still Life 1.

As you all may already know, Microids cut the game short due to budget constraint and the final section leading to the identity of the killer were never materialized.
And yes we did eventually find out who the killer is in Still Life 2, but it was done in a very unsatisfying way... and overall the sequel itself was TRASH, so I want to act like it never existed.

And so what if there is a Kickstarter for the complete version of the first Still Life, with the missing chapters done with the same graphic engine, the same voice actors, and the same quality gameplay? How likely will you support the campaign?

Extra info found here in this thread , posts #41 and #55:

The 4 final chapters:
LA 1954 and 2005 and Chicago 1932 and 2005

I know you probably don't want to hear this but I would not support it.
Still Life is on my list of games I wish I could get off my GOG shelf, a huge disappointment to me coming after the (IMO) much more interesting and enjoyable Post Mortem.

As for backing another game on Kickstarter at all...better not go there.

So, that's one grumpy 'no way' for the count.

Gil.

By the way, it wasn't the unsatisfactory ending that turned me off to Still Life.
I didn't like the entire thing...and as for that laser puzzle, arrrgh!

ASk me after Syberia 3 comes out. Anuman, the new Microids ownership believes in cutting up the games and making them lower budget. The most recent such release is Dracula. If they make Syberia to the old standards I would gladly support them.

Nice - and I probably would pledge support - but I think it's highly unlikely to be a prospect !! laugh

The original Still Life was a team effort by an exceptional group of developers. I'm afraid the time is long past when you could reassemble that team and get what was intended to be the ending of the original Still Life game.

I might contribute to a true sequel if many of the original team would be working on it. But I doubt a Kickstarter would raise enough funds to produce a game of the same quality as the original.

Nothing about the abomination that was Still Life 2 is credible -- and I don't believe the purported killer in Still Life 2 was the originally intended killer at all. As far as I'm concerned, Still Life 2 is not a sequel, but a completely different game (and a very poor one).

Hi, Jenny!

I thought I was the only one who hated "Still Life 2", but it appears that I'm not alone. I almost didn't finish it, but I hated to waste the money I spent on it, so I did. What a complete dud!

Just to show a different opinion: I really enjoyed Still Life 2. More so actually than SL1, not because of the open ending but because of many other annoyances.

So does that mean you'd contribute to a Kickstarter for another Still Life episode?
That, after all, is 123pazu's question -- not whether anyone liked SL2 or not.
