Help for the Rain Dance from Jens_ond on the King Art forum.

Open "Book of Unwritten Tales\kagedata\chapter4_1\landschaft\minigame_dance.kad" in a text editor ( take a backup before that)

At the bottom change all the timeToWait parts:

<step arrwos="? ?" timeToWait="1.4" right_event=""/>
to 2.4 or higher. This increases the delay between each dance step.

If you just want to get the minigame over with, delete all steps except:

<step arrwos="1 2" timeToWait="2.4" right_event="mitte" wrong_event=""/>
<step arrwos="1 2" timeToWait="2.7" right_event="ende" wrong_event=""/>

Then play the game and perform the rain dance.

I used NotePad and opened the installed game file in it.
(I'm using Win7, btw.)
The second file folder down was kagedata.
Double clicking that took me to the chapters.
I opened chapter4_1 and scrolled down to the bottom, made a backup of the file which I dumped on my Desktop, then followed Jens_ond's instructions.
Really, really tired of doing the rain dance, I deleted all the steps except the two he mentions and Saved.
It works beautifully!!
You see Nate do his dance and you don't have to do a thing!!
(Well, except click on the dance instructions in Inventory.)
Yesss!
Thank you, Jens!!!

This really could use a sticky somewhere!

Gil.

That's very helpful information - the rain dance sequence caused a problem for many players.

The pitiful thing is that Jens_ond's instructions have been up in the King Art forum since 2011.
You would think that King Art would have trumpeted them for all the people who have just about gone nuts trying to do that rain dance and had to ask for a saved game which came from someone who probably didn't play the way they did and created all sorts of trouble with inventory and how to follow on from there.
That or Made a Patch.
Sheesh!

Gil.
