Charles Cecil is one of the original founders of Revolution Software,
best known for developing the Broken Sword games.

But he wrote his first game for the Sinclair ZX-81 in 1981, years earlier.

Find out more about Charles Cecil

It was those Artic games (which I have still got for the Spectrum) along with The Hobbit from Melbourne House that got me into computers. I saw them reviewed in a computer magazine, which I only used to buy because it had a couple of pages on chess computers ( I was into chess at the time). It's hard to describe now the amazement there was that a computer could take in English input and react to that input.

I didnt realise till, I think it was last year, that CS was the creator of those Artic games.

Thanks for posting that Jenny, and to others at GameBoomers for their help!

Charles Cecil was great to speak to, I was lucky to meet him at Gamescom.
