All answers contain two words. The words are a mere one letter different from one another but can be located anywhere in the word.

Example: clothier for a seaman -> sailor tailor

-1. an idea about a musical performance (7)
-2. creates instruments (7)
-3. a sidewalk clearer in the winter, perhaps (6)
-4. the result of messing up a bracelet (6)
-5. a nice game bird (8)
-6. a rush to play a board game (8)
-7. anxiety about retirement funds (7)
-8. satisfied cloister (7)
-9. shut dressing area (6)
-10. cleric clemency (6)
