I combined your 2 threads. No need to start a new one if it is about the same game.
The step by step for installing the saved game is found at the stickied thread at top of page.
------
If your OS is XP:
Open your My Computer, C drive, Program files, Next Life folder, bin folder and then saves folder.
Check the last number of the .esa files inside that saves folder.
Now, download the one sent to you to the desktop.
Change the number of the file to the number that should be the last one in the saves folder that is opened above.
Then click-hold-drop the relabeled file inside the saves folder to join the rest of the .esa files.
CLOSE all folders.
Play - load the game as usual. See the relabeled saves there now.
Have fun.

OK, After 2 hours I give up me and my wife both have tried this and can't even do it once let alone three times. PLEASE send a save after the spinning lights puzzle. Thanks in advance.

Sue I am getting chopped in 1/2 just after I start following Dieter. Wherever I try to go on screen I end up veering right & being sliced in 2.
I hate this sort of thing ... I was really enjoying the game but I cannot progress.

Hi all- a noobie here -so please pardon any mistakes.

Please, I am looking for a saved game for immediately after solving the yellow balls (the first arcade game) - to leave me still at construction site. I downloaded all saved games posted here - but was jumped ahead a day or two too far.

Any saved games for right after timed sequences would be welcomed! They are no fun at all, just blood pressure raisers I think!

You do not unpack the save game file:

If your OS is XP:
Open your My Computer, C drive, Program files, Next Life folder, bin folder and then saves folder.
Check the last number of the .esa files inside that saves folder.
Now, download the one sent to you to the desktop.
Change the number of the file to the number that should be the last one in the saves folder that is opened above.
Then click-hold-drop the relabeled file inside the saves folder to join the rest of the .esa files.
CLOSE all folders.
Play - load the game as usual. See the relabeled saves there now.
Have fun.

The attachment that is sent with the mail is the saved game file.
If you do not see the attachment - check your mail program and see if it allows attachments.

yes, it allows attachments, but no paper clip alongside your e-mail, or file name in the message window is showing up.

That is really strange! You mentioned that the first one you got and has codes. I thought that you got that one and just didn't install it correctly.
I think your mail program is not allowing attachments.
Are you using OE? If so, go to Tools, Options, security and untick the 'Do not allow attachments...'

I applaud you for getting this arcade puzzle. It is the only one I was able to do.

I, too, need a saved game for after the yellow ball game.

I am running Boot Camp on a MAC, and I can get neither the keyboard arrow keys nor the arrow icons on the game to work!

I got a serious problem. I saved a game while I was opening a window in a trailer, than I died because of a gas leak and after the game loaded it occured that I can't enter the trailer again ;/. So my savegame crashed somehow...Could someone send me a savegame after the car accident or somewhere near that place?

well, as I said, I'm stuck in a nightmare 2, I had a car crash, I got out of the car and I'm supposed to enter the trailer to save the guy on a couch . But I can't...Unfortunately I used only one slot for my saves. I even tried to waste some time to get the nightmare "reset" with no effect, though.

Kal I can send you a saved game after you've finished the arcade game that lets you get out of the car. Do you want that?
You may want to start using more than one slot though for saves. The game does get a little more demanding as you advance.

I'm not at all familiar with Vista sweden, I'm sorry. You might want to read any Vista associated threads in Glitches and see if you can figure out how to find things with it.

I am playing Next Life. I am at the very beginning and Adam has climbed up the rocks to get to the bell tower. He climbed down and I have asked several people to help Adam clear the boulder. But I cannot find Boris. He is not in his cabin or on any of the beaches or in any of the other cabins. I noticed that MaG's WT says to go to the southeastern shores to find Boris and find out about making fire. I am not sure where southeastern shores are and if they are different from the southeastern cliffs. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks.

Jackie try to make a fire and burn that tree or root out of your way. I don't remember being able to move it the first day but I think someone was there to help me the next day.
Use your E key on your keyboard to help you find all the different areas in the game. You may have to walk one way or the other to get all of them to show.

Thanks for the saves. I really appreciate you sending me all three because I probably will not be able to do the others either! I wish there was a way to skip these type of puzzles in games if you are not good at them. I liked that games like Keepsake and AnaCapri had ways to "cheat" on certain puzzles.

I'm at the part where Adam wakes up in the supply room. Got the pipe, lightbulb & rag. Placed rag on floor under the dripping pipe. Went into the hallway checked the wires, bulletin,the switch, gas meter, manhole lid on the floor. Checked the door and the dirty window. Go back into the supply room to get wet rag off of floor, Adam says it needs more time. I have tried everything & I still can not get the rag wet. Please help I am at my wits end. This is also my 1st visit on gameboomers, so I hope I did this right.

That does take a while. Leave the rag there and talk to the man behind the door.
Click on all active spots in the hallway. Look at that vent at top of wall.

I thought I had to clean the window before Adam sees the man in the room across from supply room.

It will help if the window is a bit cleaner when you want to look in there.
If the rag still isn't wet enough to take, walk down to the end of the hall and see if you can't enter beyond those doors. Please make sure you've clicked on all active spots in the hall near the locked room though

I am pretty sure I have clicked on all the acvtive spots.Switch, meter, lid on floor, wires bulletin board the door and window also the vent. The only thing active still r the door, window and the vent. Went to end of hall door to the morgue is locked. I go back to the rag it is still dry.Is there something I'm missing?

Ctpoma do you have a saved game from before you did anything in this area?
I just replayed this part from a saved game and had no trouble getting a wet rag quickly. Did you get a close up when you clicked on the dirty window earlier? Did he make a comment about the janitor? I only clicked on the gas meter and the switch to get by this area. Are you sure the rag is in the correct spot?

Sali you have to install the saved game into your saved game folder from the desktop. This doesn't work like a game patch does.

Texaslady, I think I know how to put it on the desktop, but it's how to change the number of the file that puzzles me. I'll ask my husband for help and tell you how we've done. Thanks.Sali

Sali if you will right click on the saved game, you should get a drop down menu........reneame/renumber will be a choice there. Backspace out what is written there and replace it with the number you need this save to be. If the save you were sent is 23 and you only have 15 in your saved game folder, you need to rename the one you were sent to be save016.esa. Make sure the lettering matches prior saves........all punctuation etc. must match.

texaslady, it worked I didn't know how to change the number but my husband explained to me what you just did, I just renamed and then erase just the number to put 001 in my case cause I always save on the same place overwriting (is it the right expression, us french!!!) the previous one,the rest you and mag explained to me was easy so thanks to you both .Sali

I'm glad you got the saved game installed. Gotta tell you, saving over old saves rather than making a new one could hurt you one of these days if you need to go back in your game.

hello it's me again.I'm at the morgue and after making Edwin scared by putting elctricity on the corpse, following the blood stains on the floor, entering the laboratory, taking the matches and the dessecting tool, closing the door and securing it with the cabinet looking at the picture to see an entryway at right wall, I try to push the cabinet on that right wall to see the entryway, but there Adam says that the cabinet doors are closed and he keeps repeating that. He wont push that cabinet so I am stuck.I think I watched the distroyed fire alarm cabinet before entering the laboratory but I'm not sure. Did I miss something? Thanks fo answering me. Sali

I'm stuck trying to break the glasses with the slingshot. I've got stones 5 times and I still can't seem to get it in the right place. Am I missing something? Diane I'm still stuck I can't seem to find the right spot. I've tried every angle possible. Any help would be appreciated.

What Sue found that works is to stand at left side of the screen and hit the glasses. Try that

Hey Guys or Gals it's me again.I am stuck at the steeple on Volcano Island. Did all I could at the well. Adam is stuck at the steeple, I can not get the rope. I played this part earlier & had no trouble getting the rope from the beam. But was't fast enough to get the swinging rope & I died. My game froze & I had to go back to my last saved game & replay, now for some reason I stuck. Please does any one have a saved game just after this. Thanx in advance. I am frustrated.

I am at the part of the game where Adam is on steeple ledge trying to get the rope. Did all I could at the well. I thought the only thing Adam did at the well was get 5 stones, to get the coconut. All I could do at the actual well was climb up then down. Am I missing something. I did this part earlier and had no trouble getting the rope but missed the swinging rope to get down & died. My game froze then I had to start at a saved game . Now I can not get the rope. Help

Texaslady, the rope is still attatched to the beam I can still climb up and down it. Have been stuck for about 2 hrs. this time

Don't climb back down the rope ctp. Take the rope off the beam and combine it in inventory with the combination stick/hook tool. Then use it as a hook on the arch directly across from you

for some reason no matter what i try I can not get the rope off the beam Last game i played it came off with ease. This time It will not come off at all.Have tried the stick, the hook and a stone. Nothing

Try clicking around you and see where your hotspots are. Maybe you need a reason to take the rope? Click on the archway in front of you for certain.

Tried clicking on the arch. Adam says he will not commit suicide. Then when I click on the rope he says it won't work this way. He is definitely stuck on the steeple roof. Do u have a saved game just after this?

Sami try hitting the E key for the exits to show up on the screen for you. You may have to walk a bit one way or the other to see all of them.
The glasses are on that cliff....try standing to the left of them. That's where I finally got lucky with the slingshot.

Look at the picture in the walkthrough. You have to stand one level below the ledge of the steeple.
See also where the cursor is located - that is where you click to catch the rope.

I also had trouble with the 'Spinning Light' puzzle until I got a savegame.
Personally I would have preferred this type of puzzle was not included in what is, after all, supposed to be an 'Adventure' game.

Hello, new to forums, not new to Gameboomers and adventure games so please forgive newbie errors. I'm having trouble getting past Adam on the girder and the overcoming fear puzzle. I think my computer is not up to job as very slow responding to my directional arrow work...or else I'm just bad at it. Is there a way to bypass the puzzle or is it best to get a saved game for just after this puzzle as others seem to need?

I don't know of any way to bypass this puzzle. If its any consolation, my cursor was slow also, just had to nudge it very carefully. I will send a save to you if you decide not to pursue this one. Check your email for save.

Hi Sue,The save worked a treat but I'm now stuck on the heart puzzle. Its either the touch pad on my laptop or I'm just terrible at timed puzzles.

I have also noticed that puzzles in this game are very slow. My comp is technically advanced and processes much more hard graph than that in the NL, so it can't be the hardware problem. But it seems that slow cursors complicate the puzzle a lot. Looks like it was done on purpose.
