From memory, the bad rocks that will tip you over into the sea do look a bit "iffy" and slippery, to help you to avoid them. I can't recall the exact route to take, it's been a while since I played the game. I suggest working by trial and error, and you'll get through eventually. Once you've fallen off one rock you'll know to avoid it in future! Good luck, let us know how you get on.
