I just started playing this time and need some help with the map for the town. The game folder says to go to my computer and the drive for the game...(D) and open up the help folder and then click on index..etc. I can't find a help folder...can you please tell me how to do this. Thank you...O.K. I went back and found the folder. However there is no map of the town that I can see. Can anyone tell me the layout of the town areas I need to visit. I found the gas station, church, laundry mat, motel and bar, but no general store. Thanks.

If I remember correctly, there's a map at the Post Office counter at the city hall building.
The general store is left of the diner.

Yes, I saw that the companion to the game is discontinued. I will use the walkthru and try on my own to get through the puzzles etc. Don't be surprised to see me here at the forum again...I often need help! Thanks for responses. Well I need some direction again. I found the general store, bought matches and unglued the key to the master bedroom. I discovered a safe which I can't open yet. Looked around, found tape recorder and picked that up off dresser. Walkthru says I need to look at a multi coloured box on the shelf. I can't find this. Is it in the bedroom? I've looked and looked all over the house but can't see a multi coloured box. Help please~thanks.

The walkthrough you are following is not in the sequence of the game. It shows only the puzzles that you will encounter in the game.
The multicolored box is for day 2 and in another building that you have to find yet.

So continue on and see where you can go, who you can talk to and maybe use the items in your inventory.

Need some direction please. I had dinner with my neighbours, general store worker and her husband. Now night time so went out and only place open is Rusty,s bar. Talked to him, police chief and man playing pool. Can't get anywhere here as chief told me to behave and man playing pool just keeps telling me to get out of his way. Rusty just says go and have some fun. Finally went back home. Saw neighbour outside. Talked to him and he told me about recluse man..Chief. Then he said time to go to bed so I went home. Went to bedroom and hoped that when I came out it would be daylight but no still nightime. Don't know where to go from here or who to talk to. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Kept walkling around. Finally got somewhere...moving on. Thanks.

Need some help with what to do next...I opened the safe. Found poem that needs to be decoded. My journal says to talk to the mayor re: Chiefs suicide. Decipher poem...I have walked all over town...mayor not in. Post office closed, no one in gas station, barber shop, sheriff's office, laundry mat or church. Talked to mom in diner, also Tim and Gary..no help from them. Went to general store talked to Kate...then over to motel and talked to Nick...at a stand still...can anyone send me in the right direction.. please. Thanks. P.S. picked up batteries for flash light. Checked out the cave where the twin girls dies...no clues there.

linda, did you go to the cemetery and meet Aaron, the groundskeeper and talk to him?

The cemetery is near the church.

After that, try the town hall.

I have moved along in the game...thanks for all the help. Now I am supposed to meet Kate at the laundromat, and try to read the files in the mayors office. I have talked to Tim, at the gas station, Nick at the motel, he won't let me look at a room yet, diner closed, no one at barber shop, no one at Rusty's bar either. Kate says while at the general store to mee that evening at the laundromat. I have gone and checked out the cave...back to the Chief's house-property and snooped around there. The sheriff is in his office but kicks me out. The mayor is in his office and already to talked to him but can't get into his office to try and read the files. His wife at post office but no conversation there. I talked to Aaron at the cementary. Entered the church and overheard conversation there. Don't know where to go until Kate finally gets to laundromat...does anyone have any suggestions please? Thanks...

Did you overhear the mayor speaking on the phone in his office?

Can you get dialogue with Tanya at the post office to persuade her to go and speak with the mayor?

Have you opened the safe in your room yet?

Yes I heard the mayor on the phone in his office. His wife won't talk to me at this time. I will go back and look around town again and try her once more. Then head over to the laundrymat to look for Kate. Any ideas greatly appreciated. I realize you have to trigger something in this game to move on. Just don't know what that is at this time....Will head back into town and look around again.

Not an easy game to follow. After going around town again and the back of the gas station, try to talk to Tanya again. Hopefully, she will talk to you.

Walked around town and went back to the courthouse. Tanya then talked to me so I have been able to move on. Thank you to everyone who has given me suggestions.

Well actually finished the game. Really enjoyed it. Thank you to everyone who helped me out when I was wandering around aimlessly!
