Black Mirror 11 Part 2 "Soul Key"

Hello gang. I am stuck at part two in Black Mirror 2.
The walkthrough says to exit the house after a visit from Capt. Conley. When I try to leave Darren says he still has things to do in the house. I've tried everything but am at a loss.
Can someone please help?

Hi Eddy,

Are you using the postcard to jump directly to the police station, or trying to exit via the front door? Whichever -- try the alternative and see if that allows you to leave.

I just tried exiting through the door again and it allowed me. Thanks for all your help. I certainly appreciate it!

Rushes, I am now stuck trying to get the soul key. Every time I try he says "I'd rather chop my hand off....". When I right click on the souvenirs he does mention the soul key, but I cannot retrieve it. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

By the way, I did manage to get the batteries in the clock.

You'll need to try to climb down into the secret passageway first. Darren will say that it's too dark to do so without light -- then you should be able to take the soul key.
