Rhem 4-tram - 11/11/10 05:44 AM

MaG
I have tried for two weeks to get by the
tram or railway section. I can't figure out the codes.
I even tried to use the German version walkthrough.
Would you please send me a save going into the North Area(Meneandes' Place)?
I would sure be thankful.

Jtiffin,

Enter the codes from here. or click on the link link here.

I don't think I have a saved game for this one.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 11/14/10 02:42 AM

MaG,
I totally give up!!
It is not worth making my blood pressure go up. I will toss it in a drawer & forget it. A shame it is such a secret which code goes to which door. I made it through all the problems others seem to be having, but am stump on this one.
Will go to Nancy Drew game and play.
Have a nice day.

What secret? The walkthrough has all the codes on the link stated in my post - just enter those numbers and you'll get through.

MaG
I got the saves-thanks, but I hate to say that I can't find the Rhem 4 installed folder.
The old MEM was easy to find the folders on, not Dell. Everything I enter says not a valid folder.
Any suggestions?

Re: Stuck in Rhem 4 - 11/17/10 01:40 PM

What OS do you have?
Did you find the Rhem 4 game folder?
Is there a DPOT folder inside?

Re: Stuck in Rhem 4 - 11/18/10 12:59 AM

MaG
I am running a Dell with Microsoft Windows Xp.
This is the first time I have tried to put a save on this computer. There are 40 Text Documents in the saves you sent me. I still can't find the folder with my game saves. I can load them so I know that they are there, but where?

Re: Stuck in Rhem 4 - 11/18/10 03:28 AM

Jtiffin,

Look for the game in C drive - Program files folder.
Then look for Rhem or the publisher's name.
Open the Rhem 4 folder and the DPOT folder. The saves should be in that folder.
Then follow the step by step sent.

Re: Stuck in Rhem 4 - 11/18/10 05:59 AM

MaG
I am still looking. What does Dpot stand for?
I am going to go back & enter every version of the codes in the doors. I believe I will get lucky enough to hit the right codes & move on.
Thanks for trying to help,

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 11/27/10 10:56 AM

Meg,
I found my games under C:\program files\RHEM4\Data\DPOT & I found your PA06.dxr
do I change your Z:\Adventure Games\RHEM4\Data\PA06.dxr to C:\program file\RHEM4\Data\DPOT?

Do I have to change all your saves after PA06.dxr? My last save was 18. Do I # PA06.dxr 19 & then the next 20 & so on?
Also do I have to go in order with the #s like 6a,6b & so on? It sure sounds hard, will be my luck to erase all I have done so far. One more thing how do I save the text file?
Thanks,
Jtiffin

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 11/27/10 02:18 PM

Hi Jtiffin,

Change the address to C:\program files\RHEM4\Data\PA06.dxr

There are only 18 saved game slots.
Best to make a folder and copy ALL your saves and place it inside that newly made folder.
Then after changing the address on all the #b files and saving them (txt files) - just place all of them in the DPOT folder to replace the similar number old files (that you made a copy of). luck

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 12/02/10 07:51 PM

Hello,
I am working with the Record Player part of Rhem 4 and I would just like to confirm my understanding of the instructions on the walkthrough. I get the numbers in the first area, set the arrow to a shape and then, go back and forth from the first numbers to the second numbers on the right until I get all the numbers from 1-9 on that particular shape. Then, I do it all over again with the numbers for the other two shapes. Am I on the right track? I am not sure if I have to keep changing the shape all the time. I can't seem to get the numbers to get the record and I want to do it myself.
Posted By: MaG

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 12/02/10 07:59 PM

Grandma,

Yes - you're definitely on the right track. bravo
If you have the shapes-numbers seen on the record player already (while your doing it) - you do not need to go through 0-9 search.
You need only those numbers-shapes.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 12/03/10 09:00 PM

Now I need help with the Tram. I have closed all the switches but can't figure out how to change the track. I am going in circles as suggested. What stop should I be at to see the panel with the railway drawings?
Posted By: MaG

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 12/03/10 09:56 PM

To change track:
- Remember that the tram can get to the side track only when going forward. - So you have to move the tram one back from the stop you want to change.
- Then you get off and walk to the stop you want change.
- Open the stop and click on the rail. See that the rail will go to the side.

Now go back to the tram and ride it forward - it will go to the left side rail then. luck

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 01/19/11 06:02 AM

MaG,
Do I have to go out all the 9 doors & work them before trying to do the tram stops?
Also I have a very big, big favor to ask
please, please email me the codes to one of the tram stop doors, maybe I can look at them & figure out how to do the rest.
I have been a very long time trying to figure
out the tram door codes, but no door will open. Everyone else seem to have very little
trouble figuring the codes out. I don't know what is wrong with me, I had very little
trouble with everything up to the tram puzzle.
Sincerely,

9 door hallway - you can do this as needed. There are clues in here or you will see objects that has clues somewhere else that will give you a headsup to note down though.

Codes for tram - they are all in the walkthrough solution.
Be sure that you opened the East-West hallway.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 01/21/11 06:55 AM

Mag,
I see only 3 doors, but 5 letters & #s.
I have tried going down a column putting in
the code, then I tried choosing the code for a
door according to the compass at bottom of
door. I use 3 letters & #s, but have no idea
what to do with the other two.
You say E-W door, the broken bridge says west,
also the last door says West with the symbol
on it.
I get so flustered, that if I was over seas in
that war, I would finish it in a day.
I am thinking about leaving what I have already done
in the game on the computer &
comming back in the next year or so, maybe
it will hit me what I need to do. Right now I
have so much going on, I can't think good.
Thanks for trying to help, but you have a lot
of other people, I am sure that needs help.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 01/21/11 01:40 PM

You can do this. Just take your time doing the puzzles. Explain to us specifically what is the problem and we'll try to get you going.

There are 3 doors at the tower elevator's top area.
There is one door underground that is the east-west passage.

To enter the code taken from the walkthrough:
- while inside the tower, go to a door and check the compass which one it is.
- enter the alphabet on the left and the number on the right square. Then do the next alphabet and the next number until you have entered a to e and the respective numbers.
- do all 3 doors and their panels.
- then do the east west passage underground.

East-west passage:
- first you have to activate the west door. Go through the broken wall with broken bridge. Turn right on bridge and go down the metal ladder. Turn right and go forward to be underground.
- see a stickman pad on the left. Change the pattern to reflect the stickman seen while facing east when standing on the broken west bridge (arms up with bent elbows and straight legs apart).
- Go back up to the tower elevator doors.
- now that you opened the door going east, exit. Turn right, go down the metal ladder and forward until the end of the path.
- Power the door by entering the stickman with the west icon surrounding it as seen while facing west standing on the west broken bridge (arms straight to side and legs apart with knees bent).
- Enter the code for the west door. Press the button and see that the door opens. This now opens an east-west path.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 01/22/11 10:12 AM

MaG I have a question for you about Rhem 4. The bells give me tones in the tower. But when I got to the part where you put the needle on the record I get no "tones". Also when the tram is moving the sound stutters. Is there some adjustment I can make to fix the sound? My video card is an 8800GT. Thanks.
Posted By: MaG

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 01/22/11 01:37 PM

Gerry,

Move that needle anywhere on the record. See if a different placement will give you a sound.

If still not - go to the bell tower and click on the bells and double check if you finished the puzzle there.

If still not again - maybe a tech problem. Best to ask Glitches. luck

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 01/23/11 09:33 AM

MaG is it really strange. I used the walk thru solution to finish the puzzle because I could not get the tones to play on the record. When I first place the needle on the record I a broken up half a sound and that's it. When I installed the game I did not install the DX9 so maybe that is a part of the problem?
Posted By: MaG

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 01/23/11 02:11 PM

I always install the DX9 that comes with the game. It's because that is what the game was made with.
I am not sure if you can install it at this point.

I have some #s to enter for the transportion code,
but everytime I try to enter them, the paper roll jumps back to the inventory.
How can I get the paper roll to except my #s.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 02/26/11 04:09 PM

Jtiffin,

Is this where you last posted - about placing the code to open the doors?
If so - you enter the deduced codes on the panel right of each door.
The papers are for your analysis only. luck

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 02/26/11 05:26 PM

Mag,
I figured out the codes for the tram stops.

Now I trying to do the transposition code. I have figured out what I think is the code, but my problem is that every time I try to enter it, the paper roll where I am suppose to enter it disappears back to the inventory. I am asking how & where do I enter my numbers. The
walkthrough shows numbers on the paper roll
which I thank is where my numbers will go. I
need the Paper Roll to stay put.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 02/26/11 06:15 PM

Did you do the clock puzzle across the room to turn that paper roll frame on?
Did you place the light bulb before placing the paper on that frame - so you can read the roll of paper?

The transposed number is to be entered at the room at far right. That is the room where you got the number. Across that is another panel - enter the number there.

I am doing the Cabinet Block Letters Puzzle.

I have check myself over & over. what am I missing?

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 02/28/11 02:04 PM

Most common problem here is getting confused on cardinal points and then entering the wrong solution then.

Look at the solution.
The left set solution is with the sun hallway at top.
The right set has the door to the outside at bottom.

Double check your solution entries. luck
Posted By: Jtiffin

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 02/28/11 06:44 PM

Mag,
Can the clock directions be reversed?
There seems to be a CC in the outside bunch & a C in the Sun Hallway bunch. They need to be swapped.
I had my clocks looking like your walkthrough, all letters & numbers matched & the NESW matched. If that is the solution, it didn't work for me. I need to change the clock
directions on those two.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/02/11 07:26 AM

MaG,
Thanks for the new Sun Hallway Graph, it worked great.
Once again I really need your help.
I developed the pictures & got the Letter Panel Solution. I tried to enter the Letters just like the walkthough shows and again I haven't been able to get anywhere. I even tried to swap some of them around, still no
hill will light up. I am missing something.
Could you please give me a hint.
I would love to finish this game soon & after spending four to five hours a night on it, I have no intentions to ever replay it.
Help would be appreciated.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/02/11 01:24 PM

Be sure that you have all the possible drawings and have developed them.
Once you have all - then you can enter the letters.

Double check that you enter the letters in the correct panel.

Then - Press the button at southeast corner of the enclosure.
Posted By: Jtiffin

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/03/11 04:51 AM

MaG,
I hate to keep bothering you.
I took the pictures, I entered the letters according to the Letter panel solution.
The only other thing is the button, the only button I see is an orange Square one in the NORTH/West corner, that stands out.
Then there is the panel on the wall, with a green button.
Where exactly is the one you are talking about?
I have looked all over the South/East corner, but see nothing.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/03/11 01:16 PM

Try the yellow-orange button at south-right corner area. luck

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/04/11 08:02 AM

Mag,
I have just spent 4 more hrs with the pictures
trying to match them up. The Letter Panel Solutions just won't match up with all the pictures.
The pictures won't match up with some of the
scenes, & there are several places with 3 of the same scene.
Are the letters in the Panel solution the
actual answer & position?
I have tried every way of putting the letters in & still no lit hill. Of course I will come back & try again, like I did with the tram codes, which by luck one day I hit on one door & from there figured out the others.
Good night,

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/04/11 01:34 PM

The 3 pictures shown are for the stars - hills courtyard puzzle.

The letters panel solution is at the bottom of that and are letters to enter. That solution is at the very bottom of the walkthrough.

BC-------------------------------BD
CD-------------------------------BA

AD-------------------------------DC

DA ----- CB ----- AB

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/05/11 02:28 AM

MaG,
Am I suppose to disregard the compass at the bottom of the screen.
I have the 3 pictures you are talking about.
The one that has BA & saying Southeast, the compass says West. The one saying DB & saying North is really South according to the compass.
The one that has BD & saying Northeast is really West.
My compass says the orange button is not the Southeast corner, but Northwest corner.
This is what is messing me up. Do I pay attention to the compass, that I had to use with the tram or do I just place everything according to
to the pictures. Which I tried to do & some of them don't fit according to the Letter Panel Solution.
I blew-up the pictures & printed them & still couldn't place all of them.
I have never had this much trouble with a game before. I feel beaten down, but I have decided not to quit, others have finished, surely I can.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/05/11 02:43 AM

Jtiffin,

Let say you are looking at the solution from the sky and looking down.
North is the one at top and the letters from left to right of that enclosure are CA, AC and DB.
CA will be the close to the entrance to the courtyard.
Good luck.
Posted By: Jtiffin

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/06/11 11:20 AM

I'm back again.
I see the North CA AC DB from left to right, does the South go left to right & does the East
& West go left to right or top down.
I have tried every way you can think of but no luck. I wonder if I forgot to get somthing or
do something. Surely you would think, as many different ways that I have put the letters in I would be lucky enough to get the right answer!
I just started punching in the tram door letters & numbers & a door opened, & showed me what to do.
It's morning & I better go to bed.

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/06/11 01:09 PM

Jtiffin,

The pattern layed out above by Mag is a bird's eye view of the hills courtyard panels. Imagine looking down on the whole area or if you prefer, look at it like a map. With north known, all the panel positions are known. Does this help? smile

Thanks, Mordack. Nice to see you post. Belated Happy Birthday.

If you already finished the stars - hills courtyard puzzle and also got ALL the maps in that small building at the long path - then you are set to go and finish this puzzle.
See if you missed a map in that building also.

Once again I quess I will have to admit defeat.
I have tried everything I am told to do. I

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/08/11 02:32 AM

Treat it the same way you did with the saved game sent-used in November.

Open C:\program files\RHEM4\Data\DPOT.
Check if there is a file in that DPOT folder that has the same number as the one sent and you downloaded.
Do not open or decrypt the 2 files sent.
Place that file in the DPOT folder.
Play-load as usual. luck

Re: Rhem 4-tram - 03/08/11 04:52 AM

MaG,
You are dealing with a computer idot!
Everytime I enter C:\program files\Rhem4\Data\Dpot. I get not valid files.
I also don't know what DPOT means.
I never was able to find & enter anything in November. I just hit & miss until I got thru the Tram section.
I have 12 pictures, 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9 fragments missing # 3, a coin & a device, that is all.
It will cost me $50.00 an hour to get my computer guy out to enter the file & I don't
know if it is worth it!
My roommate is tired of hearing me blow my cool, they won't pay either.
I will sleep on it another night & like with the Tram problem maybe it will come to me.
Thanks,

From the 9 door hallway, enter the courtyard.

You will see a path ahead of you and a path to the right.
Ahead of you, see the first letter panel; enter CA.
At the middle of that path, enter AC on the letter panel.
At the end of that path, enter DB.

Now turn to the right path.
To your right is the first letter panel. Enter BD.
At the middle of that path, enter BA on the letter panel.
At the end of this path, enter DC.

Now turn to the right and you will be on another path (bottom part of the enclosure).
To your right is the first letter panel. Enter AB.
Beside this letter panel is the button stand.
At the middle of that path, enter CB on the letter panel.
At the end of this path, enter DA.

Turn the right at the last path.
To your right is the first letter panel. Enter AD.
At the middle of that path, enter CD on the letter panel.
At the end of this path, enter BC.

Now go back to the button stand close to the letter panel that you changed to AB.
Press the button and the center hill will light up. luck
