Cognition - who repented?

Cognition - who repented? - 11/03/12 10:53 AM

Hello dear gamers,

hope some of you have had the chance to play this fantastic game so you could help me out :-)

I'm rather stuck. I reassembled the "Le-Pendu" toy and I need to answer the question: "who repented"?
Now, I noticed that mail on Davies' computer. There's a picture of a guy with the inscription: "he repented. Will you?".
So I assume "he" is the answer. Problem is: I've asked friends and tried myself to figure out who this is but to no avail. Either he's not really famous or I'm off-track. In any ways, I'd really appreciate a small hint!

Thanks,
Tomer

If you have completely assembled the artifact then you must be in Longmores apartment. Have you managed to get into his computer?

I'm pretty stuck myself. I keep going every where and talking to everyone and can't seem to make any progress.

I have 3 parts of the toy and I've been to the fortune teller and learned the second cognition thing. I'm confused about the piece of paper in Davies drawer that says another will be hanged tonight. But, basically I just can't figure out what to do next

Re: Cognition - who repented? - 11/03/12 09:57 PM

I'm playing Cognition; however, when I try to go to the FBI office after talking to Rose at the antique shop, I am kicked back to my desktop. I've tried many things, including trying to launch a game save at that point - it's always the same.

Has ANYONE else experienced this during gameplay.

I've tried different settings and speeds, etc., but no luck. My video card is a 256 mb card.

Sorry bootskitty, I did not have any problems with the game. Only help I would give you is trying different resolutions but you you would better if you posted this problem in the Glitches Forum and let the experts take a stab at it.

Re: Cognition - who repented? - 11/05/12 05:46 AM

A hint for future players. It effected me and I don't know it it's a bug or not.

Click to reveal..
When I first went into the interogation and was given the choice of either John or Sulley, I chose Sulley and then later wasn't able to pick up the coffee mug from Davies office. I went back to a previous save and chose John and was able to.

It's not a bug.

Things change and puzzles change depending on the decisions made. There's about 8 places where changes affect outcome of things.

For example: Answer to Davies incorrectly, the game continues, but her email to Erica changes. Or, don't open up to Rose --it won't be so easy to get John's item. Same thing with Sully/John, the projection points are different.

hope that helps.

I'm at the post office. How do I rearrange the scraps of paper to get a sentence. I can't make them move. I see the numbers on the back. thanks
Richard

Re: Cognition - who repented? - 11/06/12 12:09 AM

I should have been specific - you deduce it only. No physical puzzle or moving.

Thanks, Richard - I better clarify that.

Can you please verify - check your inventory if there is a new item - a key. Thanks.
Posted By: kjos

Re: Cognition - who repented? - 11/06/12 12:11 AM

Thanks so much Mag. I tried every way but couldn't get it to move, now I can get on with the game. Yes I got a key from the scraps of paper

Re: Cognition - who repented? - 11/08/12 08:08 PM

Thank Kjos.

It seems that a piece of pendu disappears from the inventory of the apartment Longmore. Impossible to reconstruct le pendu.

I am the only ?
Posted By: MaG

Re: Cognition - who repented? - 11/08/12 08:39 PM

mayday,

It might be that some pieces are already placed together.
Did Sully already opened the secret compartment?
Posted By: mayday_

Re: Cognition - who repented? - 11/08/12 09:11 PM

Yes Mag, Sully opened the compartment, but a piece of pendu I had in inventory that disappeared.

I watched the youtube walktrough, and I miss him a piece. I cannot reconstitute le pendu.

Re: Cognition - who repented? - 11/09/12 12:59 AM

I also came to a dead end when I chose SULLY. I ended up going back to a previous savegame, chose JOHN, and was able to pick up the mug in Davie's office. I finished the game (Thanks to Mag), and had no more glitches. When Mag wrote the first version of the WT, it didn't mention the fact that the "choice" was that important. I then downloaded his second version, and that one made it very clear that you MUST choose JOHN at that point. Thank you, MAG. You must follow the WT VERY closely and choose the dialogues as Mag states in the WT, or else you probably won't be able to finish the game.

I chose John. I went and talked to Terence and he should have went to talk to Gallagher so I could get the tape recorder. He didn't talk to Gallagher and I couldn't get the tape recorder. How can I get the recorder.

One other question - did you look-click on the tape recorder beside the coroner and note that she only uses the old fashioned kind?

Saved game sent. This is after getting the tape recorder. Listen to the microcassette now.
