Cognition cemetary

No matter what I do, I can't get the hammer. I touch hammer in the inventory, and then "hand" go to shovel and she complains that she can't get the shovel. I've gone over everything from beginning and still can't get the hammer in my hand. Any help would be appreciated. The game is Cognition.

Using an item in inventory needs getting used to.

- Select the inventory square at top right of the screen.
- Select an item from the icons on the column - in this case the hammer.
- Then select the action you want at left column. The actions available are examine (eye), take (hand) and combine (+). Use the hand.
- Then click the shovel.

Thanks Meg. I just lost my message to you. I got it to work with your suggestions along with pressing right hand circle in the group of three. I've succeeded in getting her killed. The games mechanics are almost impossible. I wish that I had my old XP plus Nivida graphics card. Back to trying to adjust.
