Roonsehv - 06/24/15 05:51 PM

Sigh blush All I would like is to find to light switch so I can light up the tunnels and get started. This game looks fine, be I can't seem to get going with it. (Note, the playing demo shows a fairly 'Findable' light switch and the end of the first tunnel. It's not there in my game blush

Re: Roonsehv - 06/24/15 07:25 PM

The Haze, that demo is dated Jan 6th, 2015.

I'm in the same position as you are.

Try going to end of the tunnel, turn right and up the stairs where you will find a switch.

That's were I am right now.

Thanks from me too, Chief. My game was so dark I couldn't see any steps there, but I did find the switch and then more switches. perhaps I'll even figure out what they mean.

I turned on all the switches that I could find. Lights came on, but the CAVE entrance is still not accessible. Should be according to the DEMO Video WT. Any suggestions?

Re: Roonsehv - 06/25/15 08:47 PM

Sandy, go to the last switch at the end of that room on the left.

That one as 5 small buttons that moves when you activate the switch.

According to the D'Ni number on top of each button, the one on the left must be at "one", the lowest, and the one on the right at "five".

Activate the switch and notice where each button is.

Now, you must turn the five wheels that you found down the strairs on the right.

As an example, if the first button on the left is at 3, then you need to turn the first wheel (on the left) 3x to have it at one.

Do so with all buttons and wheels and when you get it OK, all the buttons will form a small stair, with the one on the left at one and the last one at five.

Good luck.

EDIT: Sandy, that Demo can't be use. It is dated Jan. 2015.

Re: Roonsehv - 06/26/15 12:38 AM

Sandy, after finding the D'Ni number on top of each button and turning the wheels a few times and seeing that the buttons change places, it just came to me that turning a specific wheel (let's say wheel #1)a certain number of times, would make that button stop at it's proper place.

And it will probably take some time before you find a text WT. A video one should pop up soon.

I think I'm doing it right, Chief but none of the "barrels" turn. Is the very bottom of the buttons at ZERO, or at ONE? I notice the button sequence changes once you have turned the wheels, but I copy down the sequence each time. I must be missing something. I could use your help again, please. Oh yes, do the wheels "reset" each time you do a wrong sequence? Also, if you do one wheel at a time, does each "barrel" turn as you "program" it? WHEW!

Hello everyone!
and thank you to participate in this adventure smile
it makes us very happy!

concerning the WT, I would help you not much (unless you block all really! (which would surprise me anyway))
The primary interest of this game is to get back to think!
I'm sorry to say, but the latest modern adventure games, are becoming easier, and the solutions are often too visible in the game and too "obvious"

So if you can all think together, you help and you get closer, it's even better! and forums are perfect for that!

I am confident that a solution will come quickly on the internet (more or less good).
I prefer to wait and let the pleasure of finding yourself!

then good luck!
and tell you just one thing: there is a always a solution, it is always logical, and clues (more or less easily) are present!

one last tip: take your time, look at all the details in each room!

Re: Roonsehv - 06/26/15 04:32 PM

Sandy, let's see if working one button at a time works.

Say that the first button is at position 4. Go down to the first wheel and turn it twice.

The button should then be at the very bottom (if I remember good) when you activate the switch. And go on with the others.

If all switches in that room are on, the barrels should move and no need to bother about the wheels if you did it wrong. Just move on to button #2.

Good luck.

Re: Roonsehv - 06/27/15 02:35 AM

Chief, I just don't understand why you would turn the first wheel TWICE if it is in the fourth position. Shouldn't you turn it FOUR times? Also, if you turn a wheel, and go back upstairs, you get a different configuration of the buttons after pulling the switch down.
And is the BOTTOM position at ZERO, or at ONE? Sorry if I sound confused, but I AM, right now. Thanks for hanging in with me on this

Prom361, thank you so much for providing this game to us "Mystaholics" here at GB. The reason why I depend on a walkthrough is because, being 84 years old, I'm not quite as "sharp" as I was once. LOL. My grandkids would probably complete this game with their "eyes closed". Again, many thanks.

Re: Roonsehv - 06/27/15 04:01 PM

Sandy, I'll come back to you this afternoon after replaying from the start.

See you later.

EDIT:

Sandy, you are right, bottom position is zero and it must be counted.

So, as an example, if one button is on top of the second small black line and it should be on line four, then you turn the wheel twice.

BUT, in another example, if you want to go from line four to line two, you then must count the bottom position and turn the wheel four times (1x to be on line 5, 1x to be at the bottom, 1x to be on line 1, 1x to be line 2).

Good luck again.

By the way, this is were I still am in this game. I'm presently playing Dreamfall.

Sandy

OK, Chief. Right now my button sequence is:
Button ONE on 4
Button TWO on 2
Button THREE on 1
Button FOUR on 2
Button FIVE on 3

How many times do I turn EACH wheel now?. Maybe I will finally "get it" after your answer. Thanks again.

Re: Roonsehv - 06/27/15 08:14 PM

Button 1: turn the wheel 3 times

Button 3: turn the wheel 2 times

Button 4: turn the wheel 2 times

Button 5: turn it 2 times

Re: Roonsehv - 06/28/15 06:08 PM

I was very confused by this thread, so here is my detailed explanation in regard to this first water puzzle.
There are 5 "barrels", corresponding to 5 slider columns. Each barrel can be in one of 6 positions.
Lets label them from the bottom up 0-5, where 0 is also the off (not currently displaying anything) position.
Example(4, 1, 2, 0, 2):
Code:
-----
x
-----

-----
  x x
-----
 x
-----
   x

Every time you click the corresponding wheel, the the position goes up one, and when at position 5, skips down to 0.

Click to reveal..
The solution is (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). I am not sure why 0-4 is an invalid arraignment, but it does not work. When successful the barrels will continue filling and pouring in repetition.

Code:
    x
-----
   x
-----
  x
-----
 x
-----
x
-----

So if you have barrel one at position 4, click once to bring it to 5, again to bring it to 0, and a third time to bring it to one.

Re: Roonsehv - 06/30/15 03:54 AM

A thought as I beg for a simple answer. I have spent four days at the stone panel in the cave. No luck! Since there are 10 buttons on each side, and all the possibilities (Calculated as 10! 10 x 9 x 8 etc) total to 3,628,800 possibilities per side, I am too old to ever guess at this puzzle. I seem to be missing one number in each set of four and, despite Dennis Martin's clue can only guess what number goes in what order. Could someone PLEASE give the proper numbers and, if possible, state where you got them? [I fear my "Myst-brain" has atrophied since 1993.]

456
789
Those are the blocks on the left side of the stone box.
Press 2 6 9 (the age of the guy on the tonbstone)
Then move the lever (at top middle) to the right. A light will come on.
321
654
987
Those are the blocks on the RIGHT side.
Again, press 2 6 9, and the other light will come on, and the bridge will be extended.
I hope this helps you with this puzzle.

Re: Roonsehv - 07/01/15 10:36 AM

I’m glad to see that I’m at the same point as everybody else without any help but with some luck since I “solved” the stone bridge puzzle by chance (green light lit while messing with the buttons for a while, the rest was easy)!

There’s a lot to explore/try/do in this new big area. I didn’t have much time to explore it, but here goes what I’ve noticed so far:

Click to reveal..
You can pick up the green thing that grows in some walls and use it as a temporary torch to light your way – this allows you to see the big wheel with numbers on it placed on a dark spot.

There are 2 types of light panels found in rooms and corridors – the ones with a button and the others that have a sliding panel on the left side with a lot of buttons that, once pressed, present the familiar star propagation pattern (used in the light everything kind of puzzles).

In the room with the paintings, there are at least 6 paintings you can pick and hang on the walls - the hang places I've found are: 4 close to the room entrance, 1 behind the incomplete painting and 1 on the right side of the same wall.

In the room with the instruments, the piano seems to be missing a crank (or something similar) since there’s a hotspot on the left side.
Posted By: Chief

Re: Roonsehv - 07/01/15 02:54 PM

There is also another place to hang the paintings
Click to reveal..
at the end of the small corridor behind the chair you can sit on.

jctl, thanks for the info.

Now, what to do with all of this?

I'm at the same spots and, as I still do in URU, I'm enjoying the simple wandering and the visuals of the game. However, I do have a question. At the very start of the game there's a "Clown faced" rock with movable eyes. I blew it off and kept on going to the tunnels, the rock panel, etc. Were there clues I'll need later in the giant rock? Should I go back and solve it now?

Solving that initial puzzle gives you access to a letter that contains the tip to solve the stone bridge puzzle (rock panel).

Re: Roonsehv - 07/01/15 07:35 PM

Thanks for the info Chief - it seems that I've already solved the paintings puzzle:

Click to reveal..
Place the 4 "childish" looking paintings on the 4 spots close to the room entrance - if done correctly a sound will play and you cannot remove them anymore.

This gives you access to a diary with lots of pages to read probably with hints...

Re: Roonsehv - 07/01/15 07:48 PM

What a nice Canada Day find...on the paintings...
Click to reveal..
Once the four paintings are locked, look to the left in the pond. A rock slid open to revel a diary. Also, look closely at the paintings. There are numbers. Look closely at the centre of where the for paintings meet. Match the numbers to positions on the sliding rocks puzzle. The codes are on the pillars seen at the beginning of the game. These are light hints.

it seems that I've already solved the big wheel with numbers puzzle:

Each correct 3 digits code lights the corresponding light - activating all the lights gives you access to the big locked door close by.

The fact that the digits do not repeat on each circle helped a lot to figure the solution after finding by change 3 codes!

If you label the top light as being 1 and move clock wise the 8 codes are:

I am a little bit further along but have hit the limits of my logical thinking. I have all the lights green except one on the light panel. Spoiler, don't look if you aren't this far.
Click to reveal..
I assume that the button in the workroom with fountain and star map will only work once all the lights are green, I assume this. The only other panel I see is at the end of a blocked corridor. Been looking for a way around the boulders but can not. I am guessing that a screen will come down for the stars to shine but I may be way off base here. I have checked every position of the wheel in the grotto. I checked every room and every hallway in each of the 24 positions to see if something somewhere that may have changed since it sounds like stone walls moving when the wheel is turned each time. Also been in the musical lookout but except for a drawing there doesn't seem to be anything there to do.
Anyway, I have been stuck here for 4 days now and can't figure out where I can proceed to. If anyone has a clue for me please just a one word hint to get me thinking differently and please put it in Spoiler tags so not to spoil it for others not yet this far. Can anyone help with a one word nudge please?

Chief if nothing happened when you played the keys then you may have entered the wrong color code..

The color order is on the big wall painting that you moved the panes on to create the original picture. The white areas separate the colors so there could be the same color twice.

GreyFuss, I only have a couple of hours this morning then I can't play until next week but I'm an inch ahead of you.

Click to reveal..
There are two buttons in the brothers work room that make the star chart drop down. They are located near the star chart too. Then if you ride up the tower in the music room you can see that contained in within the music note scribbles, there is one constellation. I have assumed that this is the one we're to be interested in. In particular, the opened circle as it "looks" like the symbol on the green/red light panels. I think we're to make that pattern in the light panel. As you have seen, there's one more light to be turned on and I too can't find it's location. Also, the button next to the book case activates the lever at the bottom of the stairs. When that is turned, you can see a walk way blade turn under the water.

What is going on with the big wheel in the darkened tunnel after the bridge over the water?

My pillars do not seem to match the given solution here, and neither is accepted by the game as correct.
My pillar 1 matches, and worked for me. But my pillar 2 is clearly 8,7,2. I am not sure if it is entered top to bottom or inner-out, but I tried both and no dice.

Strange, if you're right then it means the puzzle solution varies...

I've solved it real fast - it took me a bit more time because I didn't wrote the first 2 codes I found while just trying to understand how the puzzle worked!

After finding 3 codes and writing them down top to bottom I noticed the fact that the digits didn't repeat on each circle and used this simple assumption to get the rest of the codes - it was real easy since you're not just trying random numbers anymore.

The solution does not change. I solved it going through all the combinations until it worked, the only puzzle I really had no clue how I got the right answer until I read all the posts. If you look at all the previous posts regarding this puzzle, it all makes sense. 1. look at the group of 4 paintings closely and what do you see? 2. all the numbers were right for the combinations in a previous post, it is just where you line them up. 3. where the combinations were obtained is correct. 2 numbers needed trial and error due to destruction causing missing numbers. All the clues are there in game as pointed out to me in a previous nudge, it's just how you look at it. Best advice I received and made me look at everything differently. If anyone needs further help just let me know.

This is truly a great game thinking and puzzle solving wise. It is nice, refreshing and challenging. I can't remember the last time since Myst and Riven I had to put this much effort in thinking for a game. Hats off to the development team and look forward to more if it is the plans. I am stuck and a bit befuddled. I found the big, five-paneled painting over the green couch in the music room, but still see no connection between it and the organ key colors. If I'm supposed to reorder the panels, they don't seem move-able. Have I missed a trigger?

Also, (And this has no effect on gameplay...I think) I'm sure I have the four pictures in the correct position in the art room and have solved the big circle and thereby found what I needed for the organ. I also hung the other three unnecessary pictures on the three spots on the two walls in the art room. Interestingly, every time I quit and come back later, it seems that little D'ni elves take the those three pictures back off the wall. (The four on the front wall are untouched.) I'm sure it means nothing, but I find it cool and a bit eerie.

Re: Roonsehv - 07/03/15 07:07 PM

OK, I understand how to enter JCTL's solution, but I am still unsure how you get from the codes given on he pillars to that.

Pillar Codes:
Click to reveal..

[list]
[1](1,5,5)
[2](8,7,3)
[3](5,*,3)
[4](2,6,*)
[5](4,3,1)
[6](2,7,*)
[7](6,*,8)
[8](2,8,6)

So while 8,7,3 is listed as the second code in game you are supposed to enter it into the 5th location. Where the topmost position is 1 and you go around clockwise and position 5 is the direct bottom. I do not see any obvious pattern, it looks like the pillar number is completely unrelated to how you enter that pillars code.

Have you lit up all the white lights except the fifth position?
Click to reveal..
You don't have to do them in any order and once you have lit one it stays lit.

Re: Roonsehv - 07/03/15 08:22 PM

It is not that I cannot figure out how to light up position 5, it is that I cannot figure out how to use any of the pillar codes other than position 1. In any way other than randomly trying them in different positions.

Well then you are on your way with those lit. I am actually like jctl,
Click to reveal..
I never got any clues from the pillars, I deduced the codes using my tried and true combination decipher. Three digit combination characters are the easiest codes to find. And in this case because the were numerous combinations with each turn of the wheel made it easier. Like jctl, I too figured out after getting a few lights lit that the numbers 1 thru 8 do not repeat on the wheel for each light. For example if you got the lights lit for 1 - & 5 those individual numbers will not be repeated in that position for any other lite. If you are looking for a correlation to the clues on the pillars I can't help you with that as I didn't use them, sorry.

The best way I can explain is give the solution, so be forewarned before you look

Click to reveal..
Pillars: The D'ni number is at the top (D'ni number 1)corresponds to 551. The way the numbers on read on the pillars is around the pillar. where you see the D'ni number at the top the number below that is the middle number in the combinations. Picture: after you assembled the picture in the painting room, use the point where all 4 meet as the "center". As you look on the picture you see the D'ni numbers, but they are not in numerical order. In one of the pictures, the D'ni number 6 is where it should be as it looks like the combination wheel lights, which is telling you where the 6th combination should be entered. They D'ni numbers go around the picture clockwise using the center where they meet correspond to the position of the lights on the outer border of the combination wheel. Going around clockwise starting from the top D'ni numbers 1, 3, 4, 8, 2, 6, 5, 7. Now combine those with the D'ni numbers on the pillars and the corresponding combination code. You have to line the combination numbers up under the corresponding lights, for simplicity sake I will go clockwise starting from the top. 1 (551), 3 (345), 4 (462), 8 (286), 2 (873) 6 (727), 5 (134) 7 (618). For 4 and 7 it is trial and error due to the pillar being destroyed with one of the numbers.
Great puzzle

What a wonderfull game!
It is (for me) very difficult, but with patience and a little help solved the most of it.
But I have one question: what is the meaning of the symbols on the lamps? A blue lamp has a cross, a red lamp a square ... Is this relevant?

Re: Roonsehv - 07/04/15 02:41 PM

Thanks for the reply GreyFuss, I did read the post by jctl and sadly it did not help me much. What I have done up to this point is I have only three lights on in the panels with the buttons below, top middle and middle right. I am trying to figure out how to get the other lights on and assumed the sliding light panels may have something to do with that.
On the sliding light panels I have had all the lights on, kept the panels out, slid them back in, I have tried various patterns on the panels but so far nothing seems to have progressed for me as a result of any of those attempts. I am befuddled on how to progress with the lights at this point and I guess could use a stronger hint.

I'm stuck at the panels puzzle - so far I've lit 3 lights on the panels (the ones with a button below that work).

Do I need to slide the panel in to see if I got it right or not?

I did a map and got to the following conclusions concerning the panels (not sure if I'm right or wrong):

Click to reveal..
The keypad with button on the room that had the piano key doesn't light because the bottom middle light is missing on the panel.

The 4 keypads with sliding panels are in rooms that correspond to the 4 corners of the 3x3 panels.

The middle left light corresponds to the keypad with button that is blocked by the collapsed tunnel.

Re: Roonsehv - 07/04/15 10:58 PM

Since my wife works this weekend, I have spent an asinine amount of time wandering these rooms and halls. I've accomplished a lot but am not sure what. Here are my questions; 1. Like the previous few people, I can't get the light in "Jane's room" to go green. (I have six green lights working.) 2; I have the "Star chart" lit up, but don't know why. 3. I went up in the lift and found the proper figure in the graffiti, but don't know why. 4. I found the correct spot and got the curved lever on the balcony to turn but don't know why I did it or what I accomplished.

I'll keep wandering and finding hotspots by accident, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

You need 7 lights lit on the Star Panel. If I assume you have already lit the 3 with working buttons below them from the etrance to the cave and the 2 in the corridors then one of the 4 panels with slide outs is set wrong. You will need the 7 lit before working on getting Janes room's button to work. Also it is not enough to just lite up the Star Chart you have lo lower a screen behind it, Have you done that?

@Jctl

All your assumptions in your Spoiler Tag are correct.

You have to set the sliding panels in the 4 rooms to different patters and slide them back in to see if they work. I will say that the patterns are symmetrical 2 of them are the same but the opposite in colors as well as the other 2 in a different pattern.

[Added later] I've got seven lights on the panel and have lowered the starchart. I'm completely lost as to what to do next, but that's OK. I will eventually find it. Instinct says there is a connection between all the colored room-lights and the colored stars but I haven't made the connection. However, I have found and black covered white thing that looks like it might be a gear (In the area with the starchart). The cursor blinks but there seems to be no interaction. Click to reveal..
Is there any other clue to the panels puzzle besides the one on the music chart above the lift or this clue is intended for another puzzle?

The mesh figure with dots on the music chart seems to indicate an “all but the corners” lit pattern or the opposite but that didn’t work for me. I’m able to do a lot of different patterns on the 4x4 grid but I just can’t get some like a 2x2 points square lit in one of the corners…

Is there any relation between the room positions containing the 4 sliding panels on the map and the patterns you need to create?

i created the pattern of the sliding panels by try and error. Every time you close the sliding part or the tunnel you here a sound. If the sound is different, you did it right. The patterns are always symmetrical in all 4 parts of the panel. So it's easy to find.

OK, got the sliding red/green panels solved. but stuck on the music room puzzle. The 5 panels are locking in place, I got the key and inserted it. The organ is playable. But either i am entering it wrong, or seeing it wrong.

Red
Yellow (for some reason this one does not include color assist icons/shapes)

Maybe I just have to enter it faster, it was not obvious what distinguished one try form the next, so it might just be a timer.

I just have a 5 digit color code to enter to supposedly get access to roonsehv, now.

Click to reveal..
supposedly they represent the 5 people in the picture up the lift? And somehow I have to tie the colorful lamps to specific members of the family? Or maybe age is stuck in there somewhere, the journal in the starmap room did seem to go out of the way to give us the necessary data to calculate ages/birth dates. But most of the lamps are not alone and ware with differently colored other lamps. For example music girl has a yellow in her workroom and a purple up in her tower (I think). And I am fairly certain that the bedroom behind the secret wall had 2-3 different colored lamps all in the single room.

I am also having a hell of a time understanding the story. And even which characters are in it.

OK, so we have the main three: The youngest and only boy child. Lea or something short. Floura, or something flowery the middle girl child and music lover. And finally the eldest painter.
But there was definitely a mother, of dn'i blood. And the father was around????
Then there was the crazy hermit grandmother.
And then was that uncle J something guy the grandmothers father?

Click to reveal..
Do we eventually learn why it was so important some of the time that the entire family remain hermits in that cave? But other times were free to explore the world? And I am a little confused on the backstory. So great grandfather sort of cloned the earth Age using some melting technique he talks about? Presumably after the destruction of Dn'i from the books? And sets up desert cave home after meeting a native girl (under mysterious circumstances). They have a son (who dies [same affliction that Gehn suffered, possibly?]) and marie anne or whatever. The daughter goes on to have a daughter of her own, who births our main three protagonists. The two protagonist daughter leave, the son remains, but eventually leaves as well, only coming back in hopes of eventually reuniting with his sisters?

On page 1 in Amelias dairy she writes the name of her sisters: Lea and Flora. She does not mention the name of her brother till page 6: "My little brother Ri'Jane..." Later she explains that she like to call him Jean, his name in Ne'Terra.

I concluded that Flora loves story, because on page 4 in her diary Amelia mentions that she gets the subjects for her paintings from Flora, who has much imagination. Later she writes that Flora has a passion for reading. You can find a book in her room (which is next to Marie-Anne's room, as is mentioned in the dairy). The room is not a study, so her books are obviously more fiction books.

Hi there I am well behind all you clever folks having only just got across the bridge (with the help of your clues) but I would like to solve the 'clown face' Greyfuss you say the clue is staring at you but I have tried every combination (or so it seems to me)I have looked at the coloured lines but zilch!! could I have another clue (one that a simple person can understand) oops think thanks

Not Greyfuss but I may be of some assistance (I am still stuck too on the next to last puzzle I believe, it is really a nice game)

As Greyfuss mentioned the clues are right there on the face - look for the colored circles then align the 'number' of circles up with the black marks on the face. The mouth will open when correct.

And yes I am stuck on how to get the 8th light turned on. I have the 7 turned on and cannot see what needs to be done next. Star chart down and pretty sure which is the 'clue' but I cannot see what to do with it. Any clue or prod at this point would be appreciated.

The eight light...

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but this whole valve puz has me stumped.2 questions:

Are the 5 switches supposed to be in a pattern?
Someone said a stairway but that didn't work.
I have tried the suggestions but nothing's working.
Also how do you know if it's right?
I hear all kinds of woo-hoos when I do it.

Thanks, caz

Hi Cazziejoe

What 5 switches are you referring to?

Quote:

The generator/water puzzle is quite simple (the solution is even on a poster!):

You need to get the gauge to reach the value 25 (green area) to get the generator working - each lever in the right position adds 5 to the score.

The lever positions are controlled by the corresponding valves on the room with the giant water filling "buckets" that you see behind the glass window.

Click to reveal..
The easier way to do it is to set the levers to a starting position were the gauge shows 0, them turn the first valve 1 turn at a time until you press the switch and the gauge moves to 5. Repeat the process for the other 4 levers until the gauge hits 25 (since there's no repetitions, you can skip the lever positions that are already correct).

Getting the value for the stone bridge puzzle is quite simple assuming you have solved the stone figurine puzzle (to get the clue) and you found the gravestone:

Click to reveal..
You just need to know/understand the numbering system, look at the gravestone and do some math - it will not give you the exact age but a range of 10 numbers (with 3 digits each) to try on the stone keypad since the first and last number on the gravestone dates are not readable!

I too have finished the game thanks to lots of help from both Greyfuss and Seagul. I loved it and want to keep it. This leads to my next question. Whenever I started the game, I got the "Steam" flag in the lower right of my screen. It didn't cause any problem and disappeared quickly, but it leads me to wonder. Can I save this game to a disk and load it and play it again without involving Steam? I would like to have a disk and a jewel case to add to my MYST collection. Any thoughts?

Congratulations on finishing Roonsehv. Like me I will bet you felt good at the same time feeling bad that it was over. Did you watch all the way to the end of the Credits?

Denis Martin has stated that Steam has nothing to do with Roonsehv in the thread in the Adventure Game Forum. Do you have Syeam running in the background? If you do close it and see if you have the same problem. I have saved the game to disk myself and if you would like some graphics PM me.

I read the "Memory #5" book, but other than the lever on the same table, that seems to do nothing, I am not finding any interactive areas. I see book case, but none of it lets me click it. I have only found 6 pictures and haven't got them to stay yet but I will keep trying and I am at a loss to know what to do next so please could all you clever people out there give me a hint/nudge in the right direction think thanks

@Monbron

Hint...

The sliding panels behind the light panels are not to be all lit green. That is why they are resetting after you exit the game, There will be a total of 4 of these in 4 different rooms. When done correctly you will see a new green light.

Greyfuss what I want to know first is how did you come to be so clever thumbsup I am still trying to get the four panels as you said in your previous quote 2 symmetrical but in opposite colours - that I can do but 2 others in different patterns, if I have misquoted you its 'cos I took it down in note form, but I will keep trying, the trouble is I don't have a lot of time maybe 1/2 hour here and there. Is there anything else I could be getting on with, I still haven't got the pictures right but again I will keep trying. Lateral thinking clearly isn't my forte!! think

If you want a couple soft tips:
Click to reveal..
There's a total of 7 paintings in the room.

4 of them have something in common, place them on the 4 spots close to the room entrance - if done correctly a sound will play and you cannot remove them anymore.

This gives you access to a diary that contains a tip for the sliding panels puzzle (look real close to the panel), also when sliding the panel in and out you need to wait around 2 seconds to see if the light on the panel turns on or not!

Re: Roonsehv - 07/19/15 11:01 AM

Thank you jctl, I was getting frustrated with changing the panels and running between each room and it all resetting itself, I will go back to the paintings, I managed to find 6 (yes I did find the one behind the door) so I will go back with fresh vigour and try and find the 7th, since none of the 6 I found would stay hanging so obviously I need the 7th. thumbsup

If you have the one found behind the door then you probably don't need the 7th (assuming you found all the others that were at sight):

The 4 paintings that have something in common will only stay in place (on the 4 spots close to the room entrance) when all of them are placed on the right places - move them around until you get it right!

If you did it right the gauge should have hit 25 (green area) and the generator outside the door with the giant buckets should be up and running - otherwise check one of my previous posts where I explain a simple way to solve this puzzle.

Did you go outside and check the locked door near the small water pool? It should be open or you should be able to open it now (not sure, since I did this a long time ago)!

Re: Roonsehv - 07/26/15 06:56 PM

reddragonpyro, in one of the slide panel,
Click to reveal..
the four middle lights (buttons) must be on and in another one, the four conner lights must be on.
When that is done, slide the panel back in and one more of the light of the front panel will be on.

For one of the two other panels, you need to work the lights
Click to reveal..
by combining what you just done and the last panel by opening the lights not yet used.

Of course you must find where each pattern goes.

Good luck. luck

I've mentioned earlier in this thread that you don't have to figure out the pattern for these lights/buttons.

Click to reveal..
The book says that the lights/buttons that are to be "on" have special paint on them. Now look carefully at the 16 buttons on each panel. The black speckles of paint are moving on the ones that are to be "on". In other words, anything you see moving inside the button has to be turned on.

The star chart is somewhere inside the workshop room - the room with the big door located near the big stone wheel puzzle.

There's a total of 5 buttons/switches in that room - one of them lowers the star chart!

To solve the star chart puzzle first you must solve the piano (clue), big stone wheel (access) and panels puzzles.

jctl - thanks you for the nudge, by the workshop room do you meant the one with the organ/piano and the very dark work room at the back, I have been around this dark room but can find no hotspots so I guess that is not where you mean, I have also set off all the musical instruments in the hope that these are the buttons - zilch. Also to the right of the organ is a set of 5 long panels which can be lowered and I would guess need to be transposed to form the proper picture but no matter what I can only lower them not transpose them! I got in and I lit the slider panel - its pattern was different than the other 3 but when I slid it back, I saw a sixth light turn green on the solid panels.

I am in the star chart room with one light shinning on the chart, I have no idea what I am supposed to do now. I can move the magnifying glass and I can light up the dome on the shelves temporarily, etc. but nothing happens. Any hints here would be welcome :>)))

I've been in the tower, read the material there and can see the windmill turning and I can turn the lever downstairs and hear large rocks moving but nothing seems different upstairs.

Assuming you have lowered the star chart then its time for you to return to the panels puzzle because you need them to solve the star chart puzzle:
Click to reveal..
Go to each of the 4 sliding panels and slide it out, then look real close to the 4x4 panel - some of the 16 lights on the panel seem to have something moving inside (that's the clue to the pattern you need to make)!

Don't forget to slide the panel back in to see if you got it right - you need to wait around 2 seconds to see if the light on the panel turns on or not!

If you already have 7 lights lit on the panels:
Click to reveal..
Its time to look at the star chart again and think that the keypad panel near by is there for a reason!

Maybe not all 7 lights need to be lit after all...

Re: Roonsehv - 07/31/15 03:41 PM

I am at my wits end with the Star Chart puzzle... I could use more than a hint.... here is where I am and I don't want to give away any spoilers so...

Click to reveal..
I see that 3 lights need to be shut off on the stationary panel in the Chart Room. 1) the top left corner 2) the middle light on the left side of the grid and 3) the top middle light. The middle light on the left, #2), is controlled by the blocked passage panel. I did shut off #3) now I need to shut off the Corner light but I don't know how! I know there are 4 stationary panels , one at the entrance to the tunnels/rooms and 3 in the corridors. I clicked on ever one of them and was only able to shut off one light, #3) . How do I get that corner light shut off so the panel in the Star Chart room will work?

For the people stuck at the part where they have 7 lights lit on the panels and have done all the rest concerning the star chart:
Click to reveal..
Not all of the 7 lights can be lit for the keypad panel near the star chart to work once pressed - look at the star chart!

Also there's no more lights to lit - doing a basic map will provide you with the info that:
- The keypad with button on the room that had the piano key doesn't light because the bottom middle light is missing on the panel.
- The 4 keypads with sliding panels are in rooms that correspond to the 4 corners of the 3x3 panels.
- The middle left light corresponds to the keypad with button that is blocked by the collapsed tunnel.

Re: Roonsehv - 07/31/15 04:47 PM

Sureshot you need to
Click to reveal..
go to each sliding panel and just press any button, slide it back in and see which light it switches off, when you've got those three off go back to the star chart room and press that button at the bottom of the panel which will have the same pattern of lights as the other 4 panels, apart from the bottom button the panel is not active, you just need to replicate the pattern on all panels
hope this helps wave

Jctl. Yes I have looked down (in the sea) and I think the island looks bigger? but that's about it there are no hotspots that I can find. I have read Sureshots spoiler and I have no idea where his idea has come from I looked at the star chart again and I assume we are talking about the top left sign which corresponds with the room at the top of the lift but I am starting to feel soooooooooo stupid that everyone else seems to understand and find the clues - me I just bumble around and ask for hints duh so yet again another nudge (one that a 5 year old can understand) would be VERY welcome. sad

It's not easy to see but:

There's a bridge a bit under the water that moves each time you move the lever!

Quote:

If you have 7 lights lit on the panels and you have lowered the star chart and projected light/images on it then it's quite simple:
Click to reveal..
The top left drawing doesn't remind you of something with a button on it - the markings represent the lights that need to be lit!

You need to unlit some of the 7 lights on the 3x3 panels that you have lit in order for the panel near the star chart to work once you press the button!

Just go to the rooms/locations with panels and check if the corresponding light is to be lit or not - press the button or slide the panel out, change the pattern, slide the panel back in depending on the type of panel (don't forget to lit it again if its not supposed to be unlit).

Just to make sure we're both referring to the same lever:
Click to reveal..
Each time you move the lever found in the place where both stone steps join, an 'S' shaped bridge below the water rotates far below!

Quote:

In that case my guess is that you haven't lowered the star chart yet since most people miss the switch:
Click to reveal..
Face the wall where the light/images are being projected (assuming you have pressed the lamp switch near the water column), then look to your right for a (very well hidden) switch!

Re: Roonsehv - 08/02/15 11:06 AM

I did find a switch to the left of the column which brought down (I thought) the star chart, is there another one which I can't find and believe me I have looked for a hotspot for ages. As for the bridge yes I am in the right spot, trouble is I can't click on the lever and look at the same time and to my untrained eyes I can't see a difference, but is it important? thanks I am getting extremely embarrassed but my lack of ability to complete this game when others have done so well, I think I may call it a day and stop boring people. hardwall

There's 2 switches close by in that area:
Click to reveal..
One that seems like a lamp on a pole (not the one on the bookshelf), near the water column, that projects light/images on the wall (or on the star chart if lowered) once pressed!

The other, that lowers the star chart, is real hard to see - look for it to the right of the wall where the light/images are projected near the area with the blinking light (you need to be real close to it for the hotspot to show).

The switch that projects light/images I'm talking about is not the one on the bookshelf (that turns off after a while) - its the one on a pole that, once pressed, projects light/images on the star chart (or in the wall if the star chart is not lowered yet).

Its not difficult to solve if you assume, once more, that there's no repetitions:

Re: Roonsehv - 01/27/16 05:33 PM

I don't understand what is the relationship between the grey dots on the children's pictures and numbers on the columns. I thought that the procedure for entering numbers is necessary to look at the top of the column where it says 1,2,3, etc.But if I look at the top of the column and in the same way I write the numbers, the lamp does not light up.
Posted By: MaG

Re: Roonsehv - 01/27/16 08:20 PM

July,

Have you checked the walkthrough here.

You might understand this better. I have not played the game.

Click to reveal..

The codes of 3 stone discs

- Come back close to 4 paintings in the wooden frame, and watch them better: They form a large drawing in its center is 8 gray dots,

drawing a line between the center of the paintings and the gray dots; you will receive a symbol D'ni, representing a number. This forms a

circle of 8 digits

- Come back in the corridor, turn right at the next intersection, go right, and click on a green firefly, to have light: turn around and go

straight, you will see 3 discs containing stones numbers 1 through 8 surrounds 8 lights off.

- You have 8 lights, and the number of each light. You miss the three Arabic numerals for each light! Where have we seen showing a figure

8 items D'ni and 2/3 Arabic numerals? The pillars! Outside!

- Retrace your steps, and note the D'ni numbers and Arabic numbers for each pillar:

- Some numbers are deleted, it will be necessary to try several combinations

- Come back near the stone disc (do not miss a green firefly with you)

- Take the first figure above: on 4 paintings match the number D'ni 1. On the pillar of D'ni number 1, there were 5/5/1. Enter the numbers

on the discs, respecting the symmetry of the pillars in the wilderness, grand disk = 5, medium = 5, small disk = 1, aligned front of the

lamp from the top. Press the middle button to light the lamp from the top.

- Do the same with all codes:

- After the lights are off. Follow the corridor to the right: the iron door is lit and the joystick to open it works!

Re: Roonsehv - 02/11/18 11:47 PM

Hello, I just found out about this game only a couple months ago. I love it! I have been trying to get through it with help from the walkthrough, only because I am very colorblind. Well, colorblind enough for the light panel puzzles. I just can't seem to see the lights change from red to green very well. I can get my wife to tell me which ones are green, but I just can't get the patterns right for which ones to click on. Can someone tell me which lights to click on in the correct order? Number them 1-16 and tell me which numbers to click for each panel? Please?

Also, I've read the entire thread and people are referring to getting 7 lights lit. Are those the lights on the 3x3 panel after you slide the panel back in? If so, then what is the star chart clue for? I thought that the star chart clue shows which ones are supposed to be lit up on the 3x3, not all of them. I'm confused. Can anyone help?

Re: Roonsehv - 02/13/18 03:42 PM

I played the game in 2015, so I don't remember everything.
If I am correctly were there 4 of these lightpuzzles, the difficult part was to see which lights had to be changed, you know that black stuff.

In the walkthrough you can see which patterns you have to make, which lights must be green and which must be red.
The first two were easy, I believe the first was just click on the 4 corners.
The second one was also quiet easy, the third was little bit more difficult.
The last took more time, it was just trial and error.

If you know the patterns and you can see which is green and which is red, the it is not that difficult.

Succes, if not let me know.

Lion, since you aren't colorblind, you don't know the difficulty. The lights on the panels are very dim and hard to see the colors for me. The piano keys are very bright vibrant colors and I could tell them for the most part. The blue and purple were tricky and so were the yellow and orange. But I managed, with or without the symbols added for the Color Deficient switch in the Settings. That being said, the panel lights on both the front and the sliding panel are EXTREMELY difficult to tell apart, especially since they are so dim. I think I'll try to find my old Othello game, and see if I can duplicate the puzzle with black/white pieces, since I can't find any help. Then apply those moves to the panels and hope blindly that they work.

adventurik, I am now very busy with the walkthrough of The House of Da Vinci.
after that I wil reïnstall Roonsehv and I will try to solve this problem.
if I can put nummers on the lights and find a sequence for the nummers to solve these puzzles.

it can take a little while because of the other walkthrough I am making.

Thank you for your reply, Lion. You really don't have to work that hard. I'll see what I can do. I'm thinking of using my old red/blue 3D glasses to see if that might help, along with the Othello board. The walkthrus that I've seen don't show the sequence. I saw the video someone made, but it's not easy to see what he clicked on, and he didn't explain it as he clicked. Thanks again, Lion.

Re: Roonsehv - 02/17/18 10:27 PM

I just wanted to let you know that I got the light panels solved. I used the red/blue 3D glasses to see the lights that are turned on green. Closing the eye with the red lens and looking thru the blue lens showed the green lights lit up very plainly. Then just plain puzzle solving from there. No need for anyone to number them and tell me solution. I apologize for my panicked posts. Thank you Lion for trying to help.

Re: Roonsehv - 02/18/18 10:24 AM

That's wright, there are only 1 or 2 video walkthroughs out there. I have seen the one you mean, it shows only three of these puzzles.
And it is difficult to see which button he pushes on, not only for you but it was also difficult for me.
It took a couple of passes to get the sequence.

That the video only shows 3 of these puzzles is because you don't need all the green lights on the 3x3 panel.
You can only know that after solving a puzzle in de closed room, then you know that you need only 5 green lights on the 3x3 panel.

I think that you will have some more trouble later in the game.
In the closed room is a dark heaven with a purple zodiac sign and white dots, I don't know if you can see that.

Near the end of the game there is another place where it could be trouble, you have to put different coloured marbles in wright sequence on 5 spots.
To know the sequence is counting the lights, how many of each colour and there are 5 colours.

If you can't find the solution let me know, in my walkthrough I have explain the solution.

Succes and lots of fun with the game.

There is also a sequel. Roonsehv: Experimentaliis. But I think it's only a demo, I guess. I played it and it ended abruptly. And I'm confused if they are working on a full game or just going to replace it with RealMYHA, or something. The sequel is ok, but I wish it was more.

Re: Roonsehv - 02/22/18 07:13 PM

What I can find on internet is that there are 2 different games and 2 different teams: Simon Says play and Studio Babel.
These studios are members of The Icehouse Collective.

Roonsehv: Experimentalis is only a demo at this moment, you can read on internet that it will be a shorter game then Roonsehv: Ne Terra.
