And stuck I am trying to find the boiler think I have found it but have got to look at a rafter so I can get the step ladders but if I am in the right place cannot see rafter any help please,

If I remember correctly - in this game; you have to read ALL documents completely - to the end for it to trigger another event.
Best to reread - diaries, emails, computer documents again. Keep us posted.

Why don't you make a map? Start on the first floor after you enter the first floor.

Malcolm's office is on the first floor right side while facing the stairs, I believe.

confused with the twig's and matching with book how do you do this,

Check the Native Trees book for all the twigs picked up.

The purpose of this trek in the woods is for you to identify the twigs and know their properties.
Later in the game this knowledge will be your clue in a puzzle.

I can see the book by right click and move pages do i need to put the twig with the page in book if so how do do that,

Just collect the twigs and they will go to inventory. You can look at them in inventory.

Then you can read - open the book and look for those twigs in the book.

Sorry stuck again,
Trying to get ladders from padlocked shed click on them but does not go into inventory,
Does say something about scaffolding is this where you have to look at the scaffolding if so where on the House ts it,

Hi casa,

You've just missed a small trigger for the ladder. Go back around to the right side of the house where there is scaffolding. Move forward until you are able to look up high at the scaffolding by clicking on the Up arrow. Then you should be able to take the ladder from the stone building.

Are you sure you're in the correct stone building? You were there earlier.

The stone building you want is by the pond.
Did you click on the sluice gate?

Yes clicked on sluice gate got a icon,
id the door to get in ny the water wheel ?

Be sure that you are going to the correct building as I mentioned.

The one you want is #5 in Malcolm's map.

Found the right building and can see the sluice key but will not go in my inventory. the sluice is right of the red drum and down to the hill to a wooden sluice (i Hope)I click on the metal bit and get an twirling icon do i need something else to get the key ?

You can get the key only if you know that you need it - go back and click-look close at the sluice gate.

stepping stones not found is it the path down to the mill,

Starting from the mill, if you now walk along the chapel path, stepping stones now allow you to cross the river.

It looks like a pretty complex game. If I were to play it, I know I couldn't get through it without referring to at least one walkthrough.

Thanks yes it is with walkthrough and help still get stuck,
And still stuck where does the chapel walk start is it by the mill wheel or sleuce,no stepping stones

From what I can tell by looking at the walkthrough, if you are standing in front of the main house, look beyond the pond to see a double blue gate; open that gate and you will be on the chapel walk.

What a game brilliant graphics,music and programming,
Frustrating at times cursor has got to spot on if you do play it you will know what I mean took me till chapter 3 to find how to do it right,
A must for all game addicts,
I normally give my finished games to Oxfam but keeping this one and will do it again in about 6 months by then would of forgot most of it,
Got to go find another game to play I don't know if there is a sequel or something similar to this one,
