Nancy Drew Midnight in Salem glitch

Got as far as going to inspect the bushes at Laurens home (next to the Hawthorne house) to find the ergot. While I was retrieving it, I could not get out of the screen so I saved the game.
When I went back to it, Lauren never came to ask me what I was doing. I am so disappointed! Does anyone have a save game here?

I don't have any saved games for Midnight in Salem. It's possible that someone else here does.

Did you get the game as a download? If so, is it from HeR Interactive or is it from Steam? Or, did you install the game from a DVD? This information sometimes matters when using saved games from other people.

To my surprise I just went back to try it again and Lauren popped up. Whew.
