It's purely a matter of personal preference.

From the walkthrough:

Quote
Gameplay movement can be done using the mouse or keyboard. In first person, press and hold of the left button makes the character walk where you orient the mouse. In third person, it is point and click movement.

You can try both and see what you prefer.

Oh, and according to this thread here, you played and finished the game in 2018.

Sorry, I'm not going to be able to help you with this game, deleterman! I haven't played it and don't have it.

I haven't played it either, so can only refer you to YouTube and to the walkthrough.

And maybe that thread from just 2 years ago that Marian posted will also be a good resource.

Both Marian and I have suggested looking into some of the Big Fish casual games. They have some very good ones out there. Plus they offer my favorites, hints and a skip button for tricky puzzles!

I liked the Sherlock game in the title. It was one of the easier Sherlock Holmes adventure games that Frogwares made. However I played it around the time of its first release and don't remember the details that well.

If you need a walkthrough, check the one by MaGtRo here

If you want Hints, check UHS Hints here
http://www.uhs-hints.com/uhsweb/holmes-ripper.php

If you want something really easy, you can try a Casual game. But be warned that some of the older ones, like Big Secret in a Small Town, may not have a useful Hint and there may no longer be a text walkthrough available (if there ever was one). They may also have itty bitty tiny pieces to find, which may not be visible if your eyes aren't so good. So if you want to try a casual game, be sure to play the demo first to make sure you'll be able to play it before buying it.
