Obduction - 07/22/20 08:03 PM

Hi All
Playing Obduction, and have the maze so messed up I don't think I will get it straightened out. Is there any way to reset the maze
to where it was at the beginning. Thanks for any help.

Thank you Marian. I figured there was no way to reset. I wonder if there is a work around, I am not a great maze solver, and I have been
working on this for about 3 days. Thanks for the link to steam

Good luck with it. There are several video walkthroughs regarding the maze portion of the game - check them out here.

I Hate Mazes. That's enough to keep me away from that game.

Thank you winfrey, I will check it out. The reason I would like to reset as I found a solution to it but the puzzle would have to be reset.

Tally Ho, it's not a real maze in my opinion. The trouble for me was having to go back and forth, up and down to keep checking how I changed the path. I was getting motion sick from it. I guess if you can quickly grasp exactly how each movement changes things you wouldn't have to go back and forth as much as I did.

dorf, if I could remember the specifics better or if the game had manual saves so I could go back in it, I would try to help you out, but your starting point shouldn't really matter that much.

I found that if I played this game for just a short time earlier in the day, I didn't get so frustrated with it. Later in the day, I would play some other easier game.

Good luck!

Well - here's a bit of an update.
What I said 3 years ago
Quote
I hate mazes etc.
doesn't quite apply. This is not actually a real maze; rather it's a tough problem that's very difficult to understand. Once you understand what's going on, it is not really so bad. I tried to solve it following step-by-step instructions from Three (!!) different walkthroughs, and got constantly messed up. In the process, I came to understand what needed to be done, and got the thing solved sans walkthrough.

It also helped that a few weeks ago I installed a low-end video card, which made a nice amount of difference. Then a couple of days ago, I added some ram, which made a dramatic difference. Especially in the amount of time it takes to use a transporter. Cut it right in half. Frustration cut in half as well.

So - enough blathering. Yes, I saved right after finishing the 'maze'. And yes, I still hate mazes. Smiling, though. wink

And three years ago, I told you it wasn't really a maze. Of course, now, I cannot even remember what the puzzle is at all. lol

Glad you are getting along in the game!
