Strangeland

I'm trying to beat the shooting gallery game. I'm obviously not doing something right as I've tried a dozen times. I'm hitting the bullseye on the target when it lights up, but it only "jumps up" to score once in a while. I've watched a video walkthrough and it didn't help. Any hints?

Hopefully Winfrey or flotsam will be able to help you out here.

Hey, you're a mod on this board - you're not allowed to ask for help! (Just kidding of course!) I downloaded the game but still haven't started it so I'm no help, but the fact that you're having trouble worries me

I have a feeling it's pretty straight forward and it's just me!

You might need to slow it down. Perhaps there is something near you can pry open and find out how to slow it down. Do you have something yet that you can pry something open?

Aha! I thought as much. I already tried to pry it open with the rat and the rock with no result. It appears I need to look some more - perhaps go back and talk to the dude under the tree. Thank you!

Well, actually there is a Steam achievement for beating this shooting mini-game on full speed! I can't get it, though.
But it is indeed a riddle - you can adjust the speed and then win

Done! On to more riddles and puzzles.
