Nancy Drew "Ghost Dogs"

I am playing "G.D." and cannot get Red (up the tree !) to suggest I get camouflage in order to 'catch the birds'.
All he says is.."got the birds yet ?".

This is my third or fourth N.D. and I have sussed that a lot depends on replies/questions in the dialogues.
I have re-played several times with this in mind but with no result.
Anyone else had this problem with Red, please?

Hi Ron -

It sounds like you are following a walkthrough. Try this one
Ghost Dogs
to avoid dead-ends. ND games are sensitive to sequencing, and are prone to blind alleys in the program, if certain sequences are not followed. Maybe you will find a path here.

Two other suggestions if the walkthrough one doesn't work--try going back to your last saved game and play forward again using the walkthrough. Or if all else fails, you can send me a save and I'll see if I can figure it out...

We meet again !
I have had this same problem in 3 other N.D. games and it is very frustrating.
In each case folk who should be there were missing.
In 'G.D.' it is missing dialogue.
I will go back yet again to see if I can trigger the right conversation.
Sadly, I really would not know how to send you a 'save'- I have enough trouble with attachments as it is !

Sending a save isn't hard at all--if you get too frustrated, e-mail me, and I'll send step by step directions...

Since writing to you I have tried (for the 3rd or 4th time) to trigger the right response from Red.
If you think it would help, I sure can send you a save-but which one.If you know the game, I saved after opening the safe; or at the computer prior to solving the numeral puzzle.

Whichever you choose I would dearly like how to set about it as I have been asked to do this before.
I haveindeed been following a w/t by Norma & Linda. I wrote to Linda for help but she has not responded.
I hate to give up as I have cracked the others so far (except 'Lighthouse').
