Hi Patricia, The Longest Journey is a third person point & click with what I would describe as a very immersive story, mainly inventory type puzzles, lots of dialogue, no dying & a good conclusion - nothing more needed! I thought it was a wonderful game & one of my favourites & like many others wanted a sequel.
This turned up! - Dreamfall. This has enhanced graphics but plays completely differently. It is third person but is keyboard controlled - it has stealth & action elements & you can die but they are not dominant & you can avoid some of the action parts. I found it easier to play on a gamepad. I liked this game as much as the Longest Journey in a different way - the only frustration was that although there was a complete story contained within it which I liked very much, there was a lot unanswered if you were interested in the path of the main character from the Longest Journey who played a secondary role in this game.
If you think you can get on with the controls I would recommend playing Dreamfall first to get the best experience of the game in it's own right - then go on to play The Longest Journey.
