Escape From Monkey Island on XP?

Has anyone tried playing this on XP?

According to NTcompatible.com, Escape from Monkey Island will work on XP, but the demo will not.

Great! I got it even though it didn't specifically say I could, hoping I would be able to. I figured, what the heck, it's only $9.99!

I had a problem with it on XP. I was unable to use items where they were suppose to be used. Items would disappear from the inventory. I assumed it was because of XP.

Bummer! Well, what the heck, at under $10, i can always trade it if I can't play it!

try using the compatibility mode and hard-setting it to 640x480 resolution to see if it'll help?

Not trying to be stupid, but what do you mean, use the compatibility mode? (Use simple words!)

Sure there's a patch. Look for it here http://support.lucasarts.com/patches/monkey-4.htm

It isn't specifically for Windows XP though.

Gee, Thanks Jenny, Now I can reinstall the game and finish it. The patch corrects the part where I had to quit the game, The music box. Is this patch recent? Cause I could not find one a good year or so ago.
