You are REALLY going to need to be loaded ) playing on medium. Easy is very difficult. And Ive played it 3 times already. I never knew there was a patch for the game. I never encountered a problem where I needed a patch. I recommend you start over and set the game level down a notch.

I think I will. I haven't been able to get past those creatures in that one room downstairs.
How are you liking Forever Worlds. I just loaded it this morning but won't be able to start it until tomorrow evening. Bill and I are playing it together.

I am enjoying Forever Worlds. It's quite bizzare! I cant figure why everyone is having such a hard time getting it to run. It plays fine for me. I am going to try setting it up on my computer with Win98 and see what happens. However I read a few post of some having difficult running it even on XP. Go figure!

I installed the patch (I always look for patches for these less than new games). I believe I found it at EA Games.

The creatures in the Greenhouse/Conservatory are called Howlers and that won't be the last time you meet them. If you walk through their blood it leaves foot prints (temporarily).

Need lots of ammo and health packs from now on.

I'm in! I must have taken a half an hour to read the journal. About the patch, it was listed on the main install page so I went ahead and used it. I figure it couldn't hurt. Thanks for the W/T sites MDAMLADY. I found 2 (1 of which is not complete), but I will be checking out those. (Research, research, research!)
I haven't ran into to any physical combat yet (just rats), I've only just made it into Jeremiah's room.
One of my W/Ts mentions a flashback right before you first enter the mansion of someone hanging from a lamp pole just at the entrance. The Scrye stone is suppose to be used to see this but I can't get anything to show when I active the stone. Any ideals anyone? Also, I picked up a health pack from outside an upstairs door but how do I get into my inventory? The manual says Enter to use it but I haven't figured out how to get into it yet. Is it a combination of keys to access it as I've pressed everything but the windows key. I've gone in and changed the controls to what I think what maybe easier for me, but it will take time to get into the "swing" of things as with any new game. I'll be back, bwaaa haaa haaa ha. . .

MDAMLADY, on a quick side note. I picked up some natural snacks (banana chips) at my local health food store last week and they come from your neck of the woods. Some place called Woodburn Country Store on Brighton-Bunker Hill Rd. Love 'em!

Yep, Brighton-Bunker Hill Rd. about 1 mile from me. It's a long road.

About the health packs they automatically get into inventory and raise your health accordingly. Just pass over them (sometimes jumping onto things). I don't remember pressing ENTER.

The man hanging outside will only be seen if you're standing close enough. You'll learn to use this Scyre Stone a lot. Lights up dark corners and helps you see things more clearly (when needed).

Get the cheat codes, I believe I couldn't have got through this mayhem without them.

The Inventory is weapons and spells only. There are no other inventory items that you have to hold on to.

The info scrolls and book pages will automatically go to the right place.

Go slowly at first so you can get used to the controls and how to scroll through each inventory item. You don't want to be caught with your guard down or unable to get to the proper weapon when the boogies come to get you.

MDAMLADY & Johnboy, Helppp!!! I keep getting my head bitten off and eaten. Eoooouuuuu. I've just left the chapel area (phantom priests) and am trying to go down the hallway past the playroom. The priests have zapped my health down to 38 and I'm not strong enough to handle the 4 howlers I run into in the hallway. How do I activate the amplifiers?? Also when I run into someone and there isn't a cutscene I can't get the talk icon that shows up on the lower right of my screen to work. I actually killed a maid (boy, I would not want to work in this place!!) by trying different keys to try to talk to her.
Flutist, I may get ahead of you in the game but it certainly sounds like your social life is much, much better then mine. Are you and Susan going to bid on that wedding dress?

Lor Lor you cant talk to anyone in the game. You activate the amplifiers by clicking on the left mouse key. If I remember correctly you scroll through the weapons with the c v keys. Mdamlady Is this correct? I am at work so I cant check it out to be sure. Isnt it gross when they eat your head?

Haven't gotten to that yet. Probably tomorrow or Fri. Just as well, it might give me nightmares, or daystallions, whichever.

Bets I bet people can eat off your floor the way you clean! I havent cleaned since I hurt my back 3 years ago. I open up my doors and turn fans on to blow the dust outside. I do mop daily cause I have dogs and they go in the yard and come inside as they please. I wash clothes twice a week and run the dishwasher about 3 times a week. Most my furniture can be written on. You know that spray that gets dust off silk flowers, its my best friend. I spray everything with it!

Oh yeah, I only clean once a week, but I do have to vacumn my living room carpet since the color is wine and the dog hairs really show up and I do have students coming in.

No I am playing FarCry. And I am having a heck of a time with it. Its a tough game. I just stole a humvee and ran 2 guys over so that I can steal a boat to escape to the next level. But some one is hiding out and throwing grenades at the vehicle and blowing me to smitherines. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" /> I cant find where the grenade is coming from. <img border="0" alt="" title="" src="graemlins/cry.gif" />

You got the key? You opened the closet? To get rid of the Phantom Monks you need to use the pistol in combination with the Ectoplasm. Jump down the stairs and run out of the chapel as fast as you can into the hallway.

Run fast, Run very fast. I got killed so many times in that chapel & the rooms connected to it.
For the ether traps, have you assigned them a key yet? Get into controls. I assigned them to L, keyed them up (so they showed in the lower left corner) and placed them as close to the ghost as possible. Then hit Enter. Luckily the same ones can be used over & over again 'cause I had to keep picking it up and repositioning it. The darn thing just would not stay still.

My problem is I loose track of where I am when I get attacked. Can I boost up my health points. I have only 10 save slots. Is that it?

You don't loose any save slots when you boost up the health.

You can write over any of the previous slots. I did several times.

When you get past a particular section just write over it. (ie. where you are in the game right now - Chapel - can go in you first slot; over writing whatever is there until you get to the next section.)

I didn't try to fight the ghost priests; I just ran like the wind. (Coward at heart)

I avoided a battle if I could. Saved on ammo and health until I got the cheat codes down pat.

Sometimes the battles came so quickly, I couldn't type fast enough to get the code in before I died.

Catacombs? Ohhh, scary! Are they anything like the cellars in the mansion? I wandered down there and sort of stumbled around. I picked up some malatov coaktails but couldn't figure how to lite them.
I've given up on getting the scroll in the cemetary. What is it for anyway? Is there anyway to go back and get it later without going back to an old save? The skeletons just kept hammering me and I jumped into the boat! I couldn't figure how to jump up to the scroll. The w/t MDAMLADY found for me gave directions but I wasn't able to get it right. It said to find the tombstone that looked like a step then jump to another from there? Jump Where? Up didn't work and the others seem too far away. Aaahhhhh!

There are no dead-ends (that I found).

You can go most any where you want at any time if you've been there before. (like in the Manor)

As you progress along in the game, you are able to access more places.

You need to get the scrolls, they have the spells you need in the game.

I failed to see the one in the chapel and had to go back and get it.

Re-do the Old Cemetary. I spent quite a bit of time here trying to get to the top of the wall to get the scrolls; the directions aren't too clear.

Today's a new day. Maybe I can open the closet in the chapel, grab everything I need and get the heck out of there before I get killed again(for the umpteenth dozen times). Maybe if I stay out of Tigs mead, I might do it.

MDAMLADY, Very cool. I love the pirate connection. We can shiver their timbers together matey!!! Greg & I dress up for Halloween as pirates and even go to a local bands concerts in costume! They sing old sea chanties and their own original pirate songs. They always come over and talk to us between sets to tell us how much they appreciate us getting the audience into the mood. Anyway, I do love your new avatar. Is this something of your own? Where did you find it?

She's probably doing better then I am. Those skarrows are a pain in the you know what.
I'm still in the manor trying to find the hall with the suit of armor. I ended up in the upper landing. Did I screw up and end up in the wrong place or can I find that hallway from where I am at?

Just backtrack from where you are to the last known position. I know I got all turned around when the fight scenes took place.

The Badguys get you in a whirl and you lose track of direction.

Got rid of Aaron and grabbed the amplifter. Am now trying to fight the skarrows. Got to stop for the evening. Concert tonight and need to get something to eat, get changed and be at school by 6. Tomorrow's another day.

Flutist, I couldn't get up there either. The walkthough I have says to find the tombstone shaped like a step (did that) and from there jump to the next stone. Well, straight ahead was way too high, and the ones on the right seemed too far away. Plus the skeletons just kept hammering me. (I hadn't figured out Invoke yet) I gave up on that and went onto the island. Now I have flight and I thought I would go back but haven't been able to yet. I sure somewhere I'll be able to go there again or maybe even be required to go there, but I haven't found it yet.
I was on Standing Stone Island when a mysterious floating veiled woman appeared. She didn't do anything so I just looked her over and then left. Should I have elimated her? I've run into this several times in Undying. Lately most of the Howlers just come up to me and squat down doing nothing. I don't kill them since they are not aggressive. Some follow me around for a short time. (I've started talking to them Bwaa Waaaaa) Now more & more of the Tsanti (?) are doing this also. Is this a minor game glitch? I'm just wondering.
Also, I accidently pressed Caps Lock when I had the scythe activated. It moves more powerfully now and I have noticed number drain on my magic. I haven't tried this on any other weapon yet but will soon.
Absolutely LOVED the snow in Past Monastery!! I stayed there a long time just looking up & down & foward. This is how I always think snow should be!!! Loved it, Loved it, Loved it!!! I didn't not want to delete the saves for that part of the game but I knew I would need the space. I will play this game again just for the snow!!
I also climbed a vine covered wall, jumped a few roofs, fell down a too short ladder and ended up out side the main complex. (Back at the house) I wandered around the outside for quite awhile enjoying the cliffs and scenery. Then when I tried to get back in; found a short dark wall, jumped up and died! I don't know what I hit but bam! I'm having a lot of fun with this game. Thank you all so much for getting me to play it!!

You are in an area I have not been in yet. I am still in the cemetary. I found another walkthrough that said to find the tombstone leaning against the wall(I'm assuming it is the one close to the entrance of that little area. If you found the bullets & health pack at the left end, this is at the right end. Jump onto it, turn around, jump to the mid-size gravestone with the small cross. Turn slightly right, jump to the taller stone with a large cross. Turn about 60 degrees right and jump to the mid size marker. Then jump onto one of the arms of the large cross. Make a jump to the wall, turn left and run along the wall to pick up first Arcane Whorl.
I hope I got that right. I have tried it but so far no luck. Will try tomorrow.

It's not a glitch; it's part of the game.

On the cemetary to get the scroll, I didn't use the tombstone; I used the pillars that had fallen and flew up to get to the scroll. Like you, I found the distances to daunting.

If you have gotten all the cheat codes then flight should have been one of them. Looks like a "spread eagle" at the bottom center of the screen.

I had a horrible time finding the dynamite and the chest.

With all the holes in the floors; I too kept falling in. They didn't give you much room to maneuver around that ledge.

Help MDAMLADY - I can't find where to put the dynamite. Can you give me a location?

Try the area where you first started out. By the stairs at the entrance. Theres a grate on the floor to the left. You should see lights below. Try there. Hope I am remembering correctly and not confusing this with another area. But I am pretty sure this is correct. Try it anyway.

I believe johnboy is right.

The area where I used the dynamite was where you could see several missing blocks. Through these missing blocks you can see a lit torch and a corridor underneath you. I tried the dynamite in several different places in this area and after 2 or 3 finally had a hole.
I'm fighting Aaron now in the room where he is chained to the wall. Or should I say trying to fight Aaron. After replacing his jaw my W/T says to try to cut off his arm. I noticed his left hand (as he is facing me) has a faint blue glow. I've cut on both arms and his body repeatedly, also used every weapon I could think of. I can't get any reaction from him so I must have missed something. Any ideals? I ended up saving and am hoping when I go back in maybe something else will work.

I remember the monster that was chained to the ceiling and the floor; but I don't remember where you are. Where exactly are you?

I remember cutting off both his arms with the scythe (I call it a sickle).

JB, are you talking about where I got out of the boat? I still haven't found the place yet. Been all over that monastery. Is it exterior or interior? On the floor or on the wall?

If I remember correctly you arrived at the old monastery by a pond via teleportation.(the chapter is called "time travel") You walked to the old monastery and at the entrance is a small set of stairs. Right to the left of that on the floor is a grate that leads to another area. I believe thats where I threw the dynamite to blow up the grate to get to the area. You are at the old monastery where its cold and snowing all the time right? Or are you still in the present time monastery?

I am at present. This is monastery interior, right before you go into the catacombs. If you look at Standing Stones WT, you have: monastery present, Monastery exterior, monastery interior then catacombs.
Maybe that will help.

Sorry then, My instructions are for later on.

Flutist, when you are on Monastery Exterior walk around to the left, follow the side of the building and go to the other side (my W/T said this will be the front). About midway down the building you will see several short sets of steps and a terrace. Go up the first set and on your left is a section of the pavement with blocks missing. Through these missing blocks you will see a tunnel and a lit torch below. Patrick even says something here along the lines of "How do I get down there?" or some such thing. This is the area to place your dynamite. I had to place 2 or 3 sticks of dynamite to find just the right place but this is the correct area. I hope this helps.
MDAMLADY, I'll in Mansion Aaron's Crypt. I know I must have missed somthing because every W/T I can find says that Aaron will start to lash out at me with his chain as soon as I replace his jaw bone. So far I can't get any reaction from him. He just hangs there. I'm having lots of fun flying around the room though. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" />

O.K., correction from my last post. I DO get a reaction from Aaron when I put his jawbone back in. For approx 3 seconds he will start to crouch and swing one of his chains then he goes back to his hanging posture. I have gone back to the pervious save in Bethany's room 4 times now to try different various actions and must have missed him moving this small bit before because I always ran back out of his reach just after I gave him his jawbone. (that's what I get for being a coward and running away I guess ) Glitch? What do you think?

Did you get the Silver Key and Time Incantation?

After you get those items then:

You're looking for a room with Barrels in it and the cutscene with the Abbott.

You just have to kill the howlers and saints while running like the wind.

Use the scrye to see the Abbott unlocking some doors.

You're looking for a wheel to turn so that the stone slab will move so you can go outside.

I haven't gotten that far yet. I've just dropped down into the storage room. The WT says to go out the door and turn right then run like h*%#. I guess I'll give myself some more health and then run like h***.

Looking back it was last Monday when I spent almost 2 hours trying over and over again in Aaron's torture chamber to get him to fight. I might have to get MDAMLADY to send me a save to get me past it. You all will have to talk me though it as I haven't used someone else's saves before. Have fun & watch out for those hail stones!!!!

Does anyone have a save they can send me from just before or just after Manision Aaron's Crypt? I would like one from just before the big fight with Aaron as I would like to beat him myself but I'll gladly take one from just after if that's all I can get. I must have missed something eariler on as I still can't get him to fight. I've checked 2 different W/Ts and can't see anything I've missed. I replace the jaw bone and for approx 2-3 seconds he turns, starts to swing one of his chains then goes back to hanging there. Anyone able to help me out?

Don't know how much game playing I will get in today. Got zapped by a wasp on middle finger of right hand about a half hour ago. I'm still getting sharp pains in my fingers when I move then. Took a benadryl and put some cortisone cream on it. We were pulling ivy off a tree and I stuck my hand in the wrong place. Maybe later this afternoon. I want to try god mode to get Lizbeth.

I'm in the Pirates Cove jumping from one rope to another. Get to the 2nd rope and climb up but can't go anywhere else. WT says climb up rope and continue on. If I continue on, I just end up on the floor again. What am I doing wrong?

You climb up the first cargo net to the top just before you fall off then go sideways till you can jump to the other one. Climb up this one till you get to the top.

It took me several tries to get all the way to the top because like you I kept falling off.

Sorry ladies that I havent been keeping up with your progress. I am really into Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. Its a hugh game. I have been playing a couple hours a day for about a month now. I am on the last chapter. Back to Peru. This is one of the best games Ive played in quite some time. Its not easy either. Having to use the WT and god mode alot. This game would probably take me a year to finish otherwise.

The only way I could get him to do that; was try to open the door. I believe I had to try this several times before it worked.

You have to shoot the crate of TNT by the grate from the other room and then go through the hole, quickly because the roof falls on you. If you're tired of this part I do have a "Save".

Got through that. Now I am at the Manor. I had Chloe here for part of the day, but being only 7 weeks old, she slept a lot. She reminds me so much of Amber when she was little, tho Amber was 12 weeks old when we got her.

Hi gang, I'm back. Had a nice time although it rained almost all day yesterday. Anyway, have to vacumn the house and dust , then hopefully, this afternoon we can get to tour the house that Susan has put a contract on. Her lease is up the end of July so she has to get out, or pay an extra $200 rent a month without signing a lease. They found a house in the city since they have to live there because of Vince working for the City Police Dept.

Get her lots of chew toys then maybe she will stay away from your shoes. Give her her own tennis shoe (not leather). Also nylon rope knots are great. You can get them in puppy size. When Chloe comes over, she likes Ambers old thick rawhides. We also have a soft ball that I think is supposed to be for a cat. She really loves that. Have fun with her, we are having fun with Chloe when she comes over. Next year we are going to get one. One puppy to take care of is enough.

She told me about it over the phone and I just sat there and giggled.

It is the last set of platforms just before flying up to the ledges that takes me to the Ziggurat. Does that help?

Are you on your second visit to oneiros. Cause I cant find a reference to Ziggurat. This area is so confusing I really dont think I can be of any help. If I knew exactly where you were I could scan the page and email you the solution.

It is not too far from where I have to damage Keisinger then face Otto.

Have you reached the castle?

Lightning strikes the bridge, but you can still make it to the portal.
When you reach the castle, walk through the door in front of you. It reveals a hugh, open area with a strange blue cylinder in the middle. Cast Shield on yourself and walk into this area. Your shield starts to take damage immediately, but the center of this area holds an Arcane Whorl. Get it, then retreat to where you entered. Cast Shield again to keep from being hurt. Back at the door, walk around the perimeter of this large room on the balcony overlooking the middle. Go to the door at the far end and walk through. Beyond, there is only one way to go: up. Use flight to fly from ledge to ledge to the blue portal at the top, and fly through when you get there. This takes you to the final area of Oneiros and your confrontation with Keisinger.
Walk forward from your point of arrival and through the large door in front of you. Don't linger in this area. A flickering stalker here is not worth fighting. You emerge outside, on the side of a hugh ziggurat. Turn left and jump to the wall, which functions as a staircase. Climb to the top. then run up the small staircase to your right and dash around the base of the tower to the right.
Move quickly. Not only is Keisinger in the area, a number of Verago also are here. Nothing is worth fighting yet, so run for all you are worth. When a section of wall collapses in front of you, use Flight to get to the top of it, then fly up to the ledge on the wall above. Here you see a hugh staircase running up the side of the tower to the top. Sprint up.

I think it is the castle that I am trying to fly up to. I can't get up far enough to land.

Bets, you are exactly where I figured you were. However my instructions are for right after you get to where you are having trouble getting to. Right? When you jump do platforms appear?

I have been jumping up to each platform. You can see where you need to jump to. The one right above me leads to the castle. No matter where I jump from, I can't seem to make it up to the platform. I didn't have any trouble with the ones below it.

OK, I remember now, that was a tough jump, but it can be done. I remember finally making it Bets but I cant for the heck of me remember how. I will check my Strategy guide when I get home from work and see if there are any hints for that jump. I remember some jumps where you would think you would die and miraculouslly, platforms would appear. I thought maybe that was one of the scenarios you were in. Will let you know something when I get home after 5.

All the Strategy Guide says is to use flight to move from platform to platform until you reach the castle.

Well, I just have to find the right spot I guess. I'll keep trying. Wish me luck.

I remember now. There are 2 "Jile" plants that have to be killed with the scthe after using the dynamite to reveal them for you to proceed.

You have to kill each of the plants to open the next door.

Bethany is most vulnerable after she cast a spell.
First off you need to take out the handmaidens and the flickering stalkers. use the scythe on them because this gets you ready for the final strike on Bethany.
Bethany is invulnerable most of the time. However, she becomes weak after she summons a monster. As soon as she does, fly up and cut off her head with the scythe. After you cut off her head it will trigger a terrible change in the landscape. Good luck.
