Thanks Rusty!

Ingie: I know how you feel. I just love entering new areas. And I don't enjoy being unable to survive them and having to put them on hold. I feel like I left something hanging.

That's the way I felt when I couldn't continue with Gharik's Forge. I just wanted to finish it before starting the next quest. Every so often I go back and try again, but I'm just not able to get past some nasty magicians.

I also dislike it when the game puts the monsters in a position where I just can't get the advantage. I travelled by coach to Darkmoor, and the moment I'm out the door they're all over me. So I had to travel the long way around to sneak up on them.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/15/05 05:03 AM

Hi Ingie - I'm still roaming around also. I did the same thing as you - sorta went all over the place and got really confused so now I'm trying to stay in one place as long as I can. And just for you I'm cleaning out the Wolf Lair in Blackshire so those werewolves will leave you alone laugh

Skippy I feel the same way about Mired of the Damned. I'm trying to complete the Price fixing quest and have one more stable to get to. As soon as I land in Mired (and even before - they attack me in the air) they are on me and I can't move. I've given up that quest for the time being. I guess I need to be a lot stronger or a lot luckier woozy

Hi y'all,

I agree, although I love the roaming about and pokey my nose in places..I am totally confusing myself.I have to go back and figure out what I was to do in the first little area, well actually I think that Castle town.
I like my characters, so I'll just stick with them..should be easy pickings I hope.
I cannot imagine not playing this game and am so greatful praise to the person that gave us that link to download. I am having more fun than I've had in a while.

Oh Syd, thank you, please that black werewolf in the blue vest..he was so rude-dapper looking though. rotfl

Hats off to Syd! Infamous slayer of wolves! praise

Those harpies really can sneak up on you from above. The Mire is crammed full of them. Every time you turn around there's another pack of them.

btw: thanks Rusty for cleaning the board  yesterday, I was paying attention to the # of posts, glad you caught it.

The one town, I think Free Haven..has the gargolyes..I was dead from just looking at them,
yep going back to where we belong and do those chores.
Did y'all take the prince and lose him yet??
Apparently we're suppose to and then find him at the circus..I haven't found the circus yet.. woozy

Yep. We lost Nicolai and found him at the circus at Bootleg Bay, sometime in December I think.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/15/05 06:19 PM

From the huge SG I got the other day, for reason this is important, so I guess I'll have to go get the imp and let him run away..just to find him and bring him home again.

BTW: I noticed by Town Portal gal has other spells listed at different times, like Lloyd's Beacon I think it's called...what is that??
And if use other spells with her, can you still use the town portal on the same day?

Guess I could save, cast and figure it out..always looking for the easy way out.. lol

Hi all,

Wow Ingie you are finding all kinds of stuff that I didn't know were possible in this game.

I never bothered with looking under rocks and you say you found stuff that way. Hmmmm.

I never noticed that the Town Portal person has more than one spell listed either...wow. Whenever I clicked on her it was always just the Town Portal option. Hmmm. Interesting.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/16/05 02:00 PM

Okay this game is starting to creep into real life. I looked out the window last night and noticed a full moon - full moon I said - I have to pray at the Temple of the Moon at a full moon - so I head back to the temple - run to the alter - wait until it's midnight and try to pray - nothing, nada, zilch. Then it dawned on me - full moon in the game dummy slapforehead

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/16/05 03:25 PM

rotfl rotfl that's just too rich Syd..

It has only been one rock so far, on the beaches somewhere around New Soap..It looked like and said rock, one of my folks clicked on it..boom, it's trapped and inside were some goodies.

Look at the very top of your town portal gal's conversation, that's where I am finding other spells. I guess she levels and can do more as you level.
Found out that beacon light spell, puts a temporary transport back to that spot. So if in battle and need to heal in hurry, cast it..use town portal, and get out, then you get to go back to that spot..now in honesty I haven't tried that, I'm only semi quoting from what I read about that spell.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/16/05 07:14 PM

lol Too funny, Syd! This game does that to you!

Ingie, I've never seen a gate master have both spells - but that's wonderful. Are you sure she has it, and is not just telling you about the spell? Lloyd's Beacon lets you come back to the exact place you left, but it only lasts for a certain amount of time. It is really a great spell to have for the werewolf lair, since they respawn immediately.
I've only found the one rock like that - but it does make you check all the rocks, probably a little developer humor!

How many of these dang werewolves are there???? I swear (quite frequently I might add laugh ) there must be hundreds of them. Ingie I hope you appreciate what I'm doing for you rotfl

Geez never mind - I just re-read some of the first thread and clicked on Schwab's picture - I'm doomed because I'm just about at the lair - this is not good help

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/17/05 04:18 PM

Next question - how do you work the Lord Beacon spell? My sorcerer is a master of water and I can get the two areas to appear ie: the temple in blackshire and the werewolf lair but can't get my group to move anywhere when I cast it. At master level it's supposed to last a week (at least that's what the info says when I right click). What's the trick to this sucker? And I am really tired of the Werewolf Lair - can't get them all killed before the whole lot of them comes back again arrrggghhhhh

Okay scratch the how do you work Lord Beacon's spell question - figured it out - finally looked to the right of the book and saw the two arrows -one for set / one for recall slapforehead

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/17/05 05:22 PM

lol Was just coming to answer that Syd, and you had already figured it out. Happy wolf hunting, and be sure and look for the ghost ( kind of hard to find).
Posted By: Schwab35

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/17/05 08:39 PM

Syd, the werewolf lair is that wonderful rare dungeon where enemies will respawn if you keep running back and forth, so when you get near the big room (you'll know when you get there), set a Lloyd's Beacon there and use that to get back to town to heal up or sell stuff. That way you shouldn't trigger or run into respawned wolfies.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/18/05 03:54 AM

Hi Pib - so glad to see you laugh

Well the werewolf lair is history - sorta - I finished off the leader and got the pearl - took it back to the ghost. I still have a couple more werewolves to kill but I'm not sure I'm going to bother unless there's some really, really, really good stuff in there.

And in the real world - I got all my Christmas shopping done (hadn't even started until today), grocery shopping is done, got the tree and it's up minus the ornaments because my kittens have decided it's fun to take a flying leap, land on the tree and see how many shiny hangy thingies they can knock off - they think it's a lot more fun than I do laugh

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/18/05 04:05 AM

Sounds like fun and work combined..good then I can skip the dapper werewolves..

we have one cat, that like to climb the tree...to sleep..full speed ahead, blast the ornaments and tinsel and lights...nothing quite so strange as waking up to an empty tree with a cat snoozing...

Have fun Syd, you deserve it after your full day

Now to try M&M VII... Saved games dated 2000-2001.

I've been trading for these gems for a while now, at Nickie's suggeston, praying that one day I would be able to play them..thought I'd have to find an older computer..

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/18/05 02:56 PM

Ingie I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the Wolf Lair is a quest - matter of fact there's three or four involved with that joint if I'm not mistaken. The entire town turns into werewolves during a full moon if you don't destroy the altar. Anyone know what happens if you land in Blackshire during a full moon and happen to kill one of the townspeople before you're aware what is going on? When they become human again do they attack you on sight?

Oh and Lord Beacon's spell - it's a lifesaver - and worth the gold I forked out to get it laugh

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/18/05 11:38 PM

I might just be trying to get into both. First move is to check for UHS for the games to make catching up a bit easier.

I've been BAAGing M&M for some time. I have an original box of World of Xeen (from memory that's Clouds of Xeen, Darkside of Xeen and the special Swords of Xeen) bought from a shop back in the days when it was new. I also bought from ebay a M&M archives (games 1 to 5 - maybe) just in case I ever feel inspired to return to the beginning.

Anyone get the feeling that I've been enjoying M&M for some time now? laugh

Hi everyone. I'm still here, but I have to use our W98 computer now to reply. I've been playing the game on my W95 machine, but when I'm browsing the posts here at Gameboomers the machine is locking up on me. I'll need to use this other computer to talk to you. We're just moving right along...got the harp..finally, that place was a real maze, also got the scroll that satisfied the mayor of New Soap..
We're at level 17 right now..accidently stepped on I guess teleporter in front of the Castle and wham, in a battle with the Baa guys and those big turtles eek geez..killed a bunch and they kept coming..got some more $$$ so we're a happy little group..my wizard is really getting good..nice spells love that ring of fire..
I can't remember what's next, something I think about Bootleg..not sure we're ready for that area, but we'll take a peek and see..

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/22/05 12:33 PM

Hi all,

Yep those teleporters sure surprise you the first time you use them but they bring you to the North West area of the map so once you clean them out in that area you can save a lot of walking to get there.

Sounds like you are doing great Ingie and it only gets better as they get stronger. smile

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/22/05 12:38 PM

Thanks Magic, wave

I couldn't figure out if this is always a spot where you could never clean it out..like a "real live training program" . Glad to know that's not it.

It was about as surprising as my first look at the cannibals and werewolves...only these guys I can kill... eek

Does anyone know...the Town Portal gal..little places don't seem to show up...like Castle Temper(or whatever)had to use the paper map and still not sure where the dragoon hidey hole is..every time I look the game wants to take me to
Bootleg Bay...
This game is great..I am so grateful for the person that found those downloads and for Nickie encouraging me to hold onto them

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/23/05 01:01 PM

Hi all,

Oh yes that dragon was a pain in the you know what to get rid of this time when I played the game but with all kind of wands handy we got him but it wasn't easy.

The last time I played before this time we were able to get him stuck so if you can do that it makes it easier...sort of.

You can clear out the nasties just outside the cave door area so you can rest but the dragon also heals so you have to start all over to get him.

Way to go Syd on the kill. smile

Don't worry Ingie...you WILL GET HIM...hehe.

Something always seemed to get in the way, but they're on my shelf and will be attended to soon, I hope. Lands of lore was an epic game, and I've played it 8 times. I've never had Darklands.

We've also cleared out Snergal's cave and have to return the axe to someone (I forget who). I also have around 75,000 gold. I can finally train some more and buy a few new spells.

I also tried to go into Dragonsand - yea, right. Before I could turn around fourteen dragons zapped me and that was that eek

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/29/05 01:17 PM

Hi all,

Syd, the best thing to use in Dragonsand is flying and invisibility to explore around.

The little town is to the south...south west area.

You also have a special rock when you find all of the oblisks to get the treasure from.

The new World Computer building is there and The temple of Varn also there.

Also any chests you find have really really good stuff in them. smile

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/30/05 01:20 AM

There is no invisibility spell in M&M VI, I think VHL may be thinking of M&M VII, which is where that spell first appeared.

I was wondering too about the invisibility spell.

How do you get the ability to use dark spells?
Posted By: Schwab35

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/30/05 05:27 AM

Skippy, you can join the dark magic guild in either White Cap or Blackshire, and there are also dark spell merchants in those towns as well. Be aware that the spell shops are open only between 10pm and 2am.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/30/05 01:26 PM

Hi all,

Oops sorry about that. I may have been thinking about MM7 when I mentioned the invisibility spell.

You get your ability to use spells in the spell shops. when you get to the shop click on each person and if they can learn the skill then you can buy it for them. It will show up so you can click on it to buy it.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 12/31/05 04:46 PM

I seem to be at a stand still right now (literally, my little group is standing still in New Sorpigal by the fountain) laugh I finally made it into Dragonsand and managed to kill some of the "locals" but there's no way I can get anywhere near the Obelisk. I think I need to regroup - train some more and buy a slew of new spells (luckily I have right around 105,000 gold) before I tackle that area again. I have five more obelisks to find, need to put one more gold statue on a pedistal and do the almost impossible at this point High Council quests (I've managed to complete the easier ones - now the hard ones are left).

That's my story and I'm sticking to it and <img border="0" alt="[newyear]" title="" src="graemlins/newyear.gif" /> fellow Might and Magickers laugh

You're doing well Syd. thumbsup I took one look at the monsters in Dragonsand and chickened out. The sound of our clucking could be heard for miles.

I'm in White Cap looking for a place where we can learn Dark Magic. We're also clearing out Icewind Keep to get the dragon tower keys.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/01/06 02:07 AM

Well got all my statues delivered - still can't get to the obelisk in Dragonsand. Even bought a couple of nasty Dark Magic spells (and man were they expensive) but they don't seem to do much good against those so and so dragons. I need to get my rep lower in order to become a master of Dark Magic - I'm merely despicable right now rotfl Guess I have to wipe out a few more townspeople to keep that downward sprial going laugh

Icewind Keep is tough Skippy - took me awhile to get through it. I tried to get into Kreigspire Castle - that lasted about two seconds and I was toast.

Speaking of Dark Magic spells - is Armageddon worth getting? It's rather expensive and sounds like it kills everything in sight including your group.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/01/06 02:38 AM

Armageddon is just a fun spell...save your game, cast it in town and watch the townies get blown up.
I never really used it elsewhere since it doesn't do enough damage to high level enemies, plus it hurts your party, but it is quite useful when you need to lower your reputation to get mastery in Dark Magic.

Oh Armageddon will lower your rep alright.

I used it only one time in these games until I found out that it only kills the town people and the monsters laughed at me. Hmph.

Oh those rude monsters.. shame

I have learned one thing in this game, well I guess re-enforced one thing and that is SAVE, before trying anything new..water to spells..save first.

I'm a mess..don't know for sure what I want to work on..or where I want to be. I am on one of the Bootleg Isles looking for the long lost Shyrll..she may be in a cookpot, wouldn't surprise me one bit.
But I do have this new place to enter..Temple of the Sun..kill us dead..just a bunch of monks, but tough little guys..but I'll get them yet..miss our little evil face, but picture it please

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/01/06 03:23 PM

Well if Armageddon only kills townies I don't think I'll spend 30,000 gold for it just yet (especially when I'm broke again - I can't believe how fast 107,000 gold went - geeez). These monsters laugh enough at me right now - I don't need to give them any more excuses laugh

Ingie - don't feel bad - I'm a mess too - don't know who should do what so everyone is kinda all over the board on skill points - I've wasted so many it's pitiful. Hopefully on the next game I'll be a bit smarter on what to do but hey we're plugging along. Temple of the Sun was hard - took me forever to kill all those monks. I figured they'd be a piece of cake since my guys had armor and arrows - yea right. Two energy balls and my group was heading for the door with their tails between their legs.

We are currently in the Warlord's Fortress. We finished the Devil's Outpost and now I have all but two High Council approvals. I should have one more but that Silvertongue guy is still giving me a thumbs down (with a name like Silvertongue I don't trust him - but I sure hope it doesn't have anything to do with my lousy rep).

Know exactly what you mean Syd, you nailed it for me..I'll work a bit on this, but..it really is hard..we're only level 20..as in just level 20..
I'm going to try a few different spells and see what works..
You're right, I know right off the bat a few things I would change..but, that's how I learn, I have to first make the mistake, then I get it.. rotfl

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/01/06 03:42 PM

Don't know what level I was before I manage to wipe out the monks - probably higher than 20 laugh

My guys are around level 42 I think - I need to train some more but first I need the cash.

I do have one question and I know it's late in the game but I just thought of it. If I assign skill points to say my Archer and she's not a master in that skill - is it a waste of points to give them to her? In otherwords does it do any good if they can't be master etc at that particular skill (I don't have money to up the skill for now but I have skill points just sitting there waiting to be doled out.)

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/01/06 09:00 PM

Ingie, Sharyll is being held prison in a dungeon on one of the smaller islands in the Bootleg Bay zone, north of the big section; you can Water Walk there if you have that spell.

Syd, that Silvertongue is obstinate, no? Try finishing the other council quests and reporting back to them, see what happens..

Also, you can continue to put points in a skill beyond the expert or master baseline and they will still get an increase.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/03/06 01:51 PM

Yea, sadly I think I may know which one.

I am "visiting" all the different little Islands and what they have to offer..and one has a very hard little area I think it's called Ghank's forge? Anyway there are students of Fire it states; inside..I can't get down the ramp fast enough..we all get killed..even with fire protection..I have no idea what I am to do?? any hints..or heck just tell me, forgo the hints lol

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/03/06 03:05 PM

I found Gharik's forge to be little too tough for me. I got down the ramp eventually, but farther in there were fire spirits and magicians, as well as a series of bridges, and I just couldn't get any further so I set aside that quest until later.

Most people think that the forge is the toughest quest in the game.

Make sure you hang onto the key to the laboratory. wave

I found cold/ice spells useful for putting out the fire monsters.

I think you almost need a daily planner in this game. I'm having trouble co-ordinating the many quests I'm working on. Have to be somewhere in March, somewhere else in a different month. It gets complicated. Sometimes I miss dates, and then realize I have to wait another year.(kind of like real life)

And when I'm finished a quest, I have to sit down and think about what to do next. I was lost when I had to set aside the Forge quest. It threw off my sense of continuity, so I know how you feel.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/05/06 07:06 PM

Ingie, I think you have to be a master in water to be able to use the spell.
As for the gargoyles, there are a couple different types, and they respond to different spells and are impervious to others. Meteor shower from a distance helps.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/06/06 01:34 AM

I don't think you have to have mastery in Water Magic to use lloyds beacon, if you right click on the spell you can see that it works at normal, expert, and master level. It just isn't worth it to cast at normal level since you only get one beacon and it lasts a very short time.

Ingie, is the spell showing in the spell book? If so, left click and a screen with some boxes should pop up, you click one of the boxes to "set" the beacon at your current location. From another location, click on the spell and make sure you switch the tap in the upper right corner to "recall" to see the beacon you set and click it to return to the spot.

Oh and the gargoyles I think I used fireball and or sparks on them. The stone ones are the easiest to kill and the other 2 I think like I said use fireball or sparks.

The ones near the town area I drew them into the town and ran around the buildings until they got stuck and then finished them off. Hehe smile You do have to be careful not to hurt the town people while you are at it though.

What's the best way to get to Sweetwater?

I'm doing the statuette quest from Twillen. According to some help files online Twillen gives the incorrect placement of the statues. I've placed the bear in Kriegspire, the eagle in Dragonsand, the wolf in the Mire, and the dragon in Bootleg Bay. I need to place the tiger in Sweetwater when I figure out how to get there. I hate to think they're all on the wrong pedestals. Does anyone know if his instructions are correct or not? If they're all wrong just wait till I get my hands on him.... mad

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/07/06 10:01 PM

You should be able to get to Sweetwater by walking to the western zone line of Kriegspire or the northern end of Paradise Valley. The pedestal is in the northeast corner of Sweetwater

Your pedestals are all correct, but I don't remember having to even choose the right animal, the game did it for me when I clicked on any pedestal

Thanks Schwab. I was trying to fly over to Sweet Water but the game wouldn't let me past the border. I guess I was hoping to avoid going on foot, but I'd better just get on with it. frown

The game also won't let me move the statuettes that I've already placed, so I guess it wouldn't let me put the wrong ones in place. That's good news. laugh

Skippy, you can fly to the zone line (hit the invisible wall), then safely float back to the ground and walk through. The game won't let you fly through any zone walls.

Ingie, the diamond gargoyles are pretty much impervious to melee damage, gotta use spells to kill them

Syd, it might help if you go back to the room with the raised part you drop onto, the place with all the sections cut out of the floor..they all lead to different hallways, so try going down each hole in some kind of order, like clockways, keep track of which ones you already dropped into and after you have been down every one (and returning to the starting point by clicking on any tribal head wall painting each time) you should have seen/done all you need to.

I've looked on maps and walked on water to fine..no can do..where is it?? what is it??

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/15/06 01:31 AM

Ingie Devil's Outpost is in Kreigspire and Kreigspire is a nasty place filled with Minatours, their mages and their kings. IIRC it's back behind the castle (actually it's behind the mountain the castle is in).

I got my Mass Distortion spell finally. My guy in Free Haven finally had one - matter of fact he had two and I almost bought them both but decided not to for now.

I've pretty well gotten this castle cleaned out - I'm working on the Linch right now but I still haven't found that stupid egg. This is not a nice place. lol

Got the jeweled egg and the Linch is history. I also have some kind of crystal ball thing with a face in it. Don't know what I'm supposed to do with it but since the Linch was guarding it I figure it must be important laugh

Now I'm off again to Dragonsland to see if the Mass Distortion spell is all it's cracked up to be laugh

Tried to get into this game again, but I'm having basic nav problems. Namely that using the arrow keys to turn left and right are too twitchy. I tap for the barest moment and end up pointing to far in that direction. Any hints or is this something you get used to as you play?

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/15/06 05:12 AM

Pib, try going into your game menu and choosing Controls, you can adjust the turn rate there, I recommend setting it to SMOOTH.

**Edit** Oh syd, way to go gal..you're doing great..tame that beast please.
I thank you for the the information about the Devil's Outpost..I don't think I even know where that is yet. I thought I'd try to finish some of these quests up, and this one seemed not that"important"

I also am trying to find the expert and master trainers for some of my folks...anyone seen an expert trainer for Mace?? How about master for Disarm and Preception?
I've walked into so many homes at least a dozen times, looking for these folks in the towns, I swear I heard the last one say some thing about getting a Pit Bull.. eek

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/15/06 02:49 PM

Ingie -

You're welcome. I sorta stumbled on that dungeon whilst running away from Minatours. It's one big room with a lot of baddies so be aware and stay by the door so you can exit out in a hurry laugh

I checked my notes and Master for Disarm Traps is in Frozen Highlands - I think in the town not where the castle is but I could be wrong (I generally am) The guy's name is Gabe Lester.

Expert Mace is either in Frozen Highlands (Dickson Parks) or Mired of the Damned (Jack Crow). The Master for Mace is in Blackshire (Errol Ostermann)

As to the Linch, I have to confess the game cheated for me. He got stuck in this room with a red bench and couldn't move so I was able to shoot him with arrows until he expired laugh Did I feel bad about the "help"? Not on your life rotfl

Well made it into Dragonsand and I guess I've been gone long enough that the area reset so all the fire lizards et al that I killed before are back [sigh]

Okay, I'm not in Dragonsand. Decided to do something easier for awhile so I'm in Corlagan's Estate trying not to age myself into social security rotfl

I must be doing the Mass Distortion spell wrong because I can't see that it does anything. Schwab, how do you tell if it's working? I know when I cast "feeblemind" the baddie has the notation next to him/her when you right click.

I would love to get all the obleisks found before the game is over - I sure could use the 200,000 gold about now lol

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/16/06 01:21 AM

Syd, mass distortion just does damage, you should see a little message above your party portraits saying how much it did. If not, it didn't do any damage. Read the spell description, it's meant for large enemies, like the Titans or dragons.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/17/06 02:36 AM

I think I've come to the end of the line. I'm in Darkmoor, at the back where you go up the ramp at the side of the castle. Then down a hallway with a window opening up over a large room jam-packed with liches and eyes. You need to jump down into the room. It's the only way I can see to get in, and I get slaughtered immediately. I can't even run anywhere to hide and pick them off slowly. There is no where to go.

Before I pack it in, does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/17/06 04:43 AM

If you're where I think you are (with all the floating eyes outside and around back?) then you don't have to go up the ramp, there is a front entrance...

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/17/06 04:13 PM

I'm doing the two quests together in Darkmoor castle: the "Destroy the book of liches" and get the "Memory crystal delta" quest, might as well do it at the same time. I'd rather get them both over with, than have to come back later and face this again. This is the area that you access after turning the ceiling cube red in the first part of the castle. After turning the cube red in the first part of the castle I went around to the back (nw) hall and into a new area, which had opened up and appeared to be a courtyard where there were a lot of eyes.

I killed the eyes and wandered around until I found an entrance. This led to a hallway which led into a large room filled with eyes and liches. After killing them all I wandered around a bit upstairs but found nothing interesting.

After checking some online help I discovered that I had to go around the left of the castle and up a ramp to a secret door to access the rest of the castle where the two items were that I needed. I went back out the entrance and around the side killing eyes until I found some trash heaps. Further down were more eyes and then I found the ramp. Went up the ramp, opened the secret door, went down the hall until I found this room that can only be seen through an opening in the wall. It's so full of liches, that no matter where I jump down I can't escape. There are so many of them that I'm taken out before I can walk forward. I've tried to figure out where I could strategically go to pick them off slowly, but there doesn't appear to be a place.

Is there something I need to do in the first room of eyes/liches that will open up another way?

It appears that jumping through the window down into the room is the only way to gain access to the items I need. We're level 40, so I would think we could handle this. I can deal with monsters but not when I'm right in the midst of them. So I'm thinking there must be another way to get there where I can pick them off slowly.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/18/06 02:07 AM

Oh brother Skippy - it sounds like you're in a horribly tough place. I'm still trying to pick off dragons in Dragonsand and not doing well. I finally gave up last night. There must be 40 of them in this one location and there is no way I can get them before they get me.

I think I may go back to Gharik's Forge and see if I can at least get through that. Have you been through there? My group is about level 45 and I'm still getting the [blip] beat out of me.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/18/06 02:48 AM

I had a tough time with the dragons too. I couldn't even get past them to get to Sweetwater. The only dragon I managed to kill was Longfang.

I figured I would take care of the Darkmoor quests and then try the dragons later. But I'm not optimistic about it at the moment. I might have to take some time off and try again later. I tried again several times today to jump down into that room filled with liches and was taken out before I even had a chance to hit them. There must be dozens of them along with some eyes. I probably need to be beefier or have better protection.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/18/06 03:40 AM

I forgot to mention about Gharik's Forge. The last time I was there we were around level 20, so perhaps it would be easier to return there now and try that quest again. I got stuck in the area where there were levers and bridges.

If I still can't get that done I might just take a bit of time away from the game. It usually helps to clear my head a bit. I enjoy the challenges but if they get to be impossible I don't have the same enjoyment with the game.

I'm doing okay in Gharik's Forge except I'm running around in circles. Seems all I do is get hit with the fire balls and pull levers that don't seem to do much other than open doors to partial walkways onto the lava pit. Somewhere I'm missing something but I haven't figured it out yet.

Skippy I can't even find Longfang - he's not in Dragonsand is he or was he that easy one right at first? I think I have my dragons confused lol

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/19/06 02:58 PM

Longfang's not in Dragonsand. He's in a cave just behind Darkmoor Castle. We cast "shrinking ray" on him, and then just kept chipping away until he was dead. I found the dragons in Dragonsands a lot tougher, especially when you're surrounded by them. We didn't manage to kill any of them.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/21/06 09:19 PM

The Hour Glass of Time is mine bwaha-hahahahahahaha - ooops sorry - must have gotten hit with the Insanity spell once too often laugh

Ingie I'm not sure what level I was - maybe around 30 - make sure you have a Cure Disease spell with you because you'll need it. I didn't have many problems with the werewolves IIRC.

Ah, San Fran - [sigh] First off I hate driving in that place. It's full of one way streets, steep, and I mean steep hills and no where to park, plus the fact they are tearing up off and on ramps due to the on-going "let's repair the Bay Bridge for a gazillion dollars just so we can tear it down and build another bridge for 6 gazillion dollars". This pretty much makes most maps useless (that and the fact I can't read a map anyway) rolleyes

So last week Wednesday my boss walks in my office around 9 am (I had just gotten to work because there were three different accidents on the road I take and it took two and a half hours to drive 20 miles) and asks me if I'm working on anything pressing. I foolishly told him no, did he want me to do something? He grinned (evily I might add) and said "yep, I need you to go to a job walk in SF at 10." Now at best it's an hour's drive from my office into the city if you knew where you were going and I had less than 45 minutes to get to a place I had no clue how to get to, added to the fact that it was raining - hard. So armed with Map Quest's turn left at this street, turn right at this street, I head out with a warning to everyone in the office they were not to step two feet away from the phones in case I called. Believe it or not I made it to the hospital (UCSF - that's where the job walk was) laugh just fine, pulled into the parking lot (and we're talking an 8 story high lot) and guess what? Full. So, I followed the line of cars back out and wound up on a street I had no clue where it went, drove around the block because I saw another parking lot next door - well, full again. This time the exit came out on a street that went straight up and I mean straight up. I tried to accelerate to get up the hill and due to the roads being wet it was like driving on ice - I wasn't going anywhere. My tires spun and I literally burned rubber trying to get to the stop sign and not roll back into the car behind me (I have an automatic but it drove like I was in a standard). Finally made it to the top and pulled into a bus stop (yep illegally and I didn't care). I tried to call the office to figure out where the heck I was but the phone wouldn't work because somehow I locked the keypad - this was a new phone and I had no idea how I locked it in the first place so didn't know how to unlock it - I was not in a good mood by this time. I finally figured out how to unlock the keypad, called the office, found out what street I was on and where I needed to go to get back to the hospital. Next problem was I couldn't get back onto the street because no one would let me in. Now California has some of the rudest drivers on the planet and the majority of them drive in the city - about now I fully understood road rage because I was having a large dose of it lol I finally got back onto the street, tried the hospital parking lot again and low and behold - a parking place. Well by this time it's 11:30 but I figured what the heck maybe someone will still be there - they were laugh I had a private meeting with the general contractor - got back in the car and remembered I had directions on how to get into the city but not how to get out slapforehead Great - so I'm on the phone again - this time to my son and told him to get on the computer, log onto Map Quest and give me directions out. So using Jeremy as my personal GPS, I made it back to my office, kissed the ground and vowed never to leave the office again.

And I should have stuck to it because the next day in the middle of rush hour traffic my transmission went out - I was not pleased laugh

Syd, congrats on finishing the Forge, was that the last council quest for ya?

I lived in SF for 9 years and took public transportation most of the time, the parking situation is notorious there. Even though the last 2 years I was there I had a brand new car I never drove it except to go outside the area. Which is why I only have 16K miles on a 5 year old car..

And yup, that was my last council quest except for the fact that 'ole Snaggletooth or whatever his name is, is still giving me the thumbs down. I need to complain to someone but I don't know who. I'm thinking I should try Darkmoor and get the quest off my books - I only have two left - something about praying at the soltice and getting that crystal. I took my complaints to Lord Humphrey and he insists Snaggletooth is under some kind of spell. Yea, right, sure he is. LH isn't the sharpest crayon in the box is he? He wants me to go to the Superior Temple of Baa and find a cure for said Snaggletooth and bring him back proof that 'ole Snaggle is cured -

I do have a question - can I unload Lord K's shield and Snergal's axe? No one seems to want them and they are taking up much needed inventory space but don't want to get rid of them if they are necessary.

I think I gave that shield to Lord Humphrey..the guy with the royal kid..maybe I sold it after I tried to give it to him..don't have anymore though.

Well I'm not upstairs in the wolf lair, thinking is this really necassary?? this dying all the time..

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/23/06 12:22 PM

Hi all,

The oozes can be shot with fireball or sparks or use a cold spell depending on what kind they are. I think on the red ones use fireball try different spells to see what works. They can't be killed by using weapons only magic.

As far as getting rid of stuff....once you know that you don't need an item....you can drop it anywhere on the ground or you can even put it in any chest you find but the place will respawn after a period of time so the item will dissapear. Make sure you don't need it anymore first.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/23/06 01:52 PM

Well I'm getting the ooze, I'm now at the top of the one set of stairs, where in the room are werewolves and expert swordmen..I take care of 3 at a time..but not over and over..Seems the more I kill the more I have to kill. So, think I'll leave this for a bit..and go back to Silver Cove and find something, can't remember right now..

Nothing new to report from my little group. We are slowly and I mean slowly wacking away at those dragons in Dragonsand. At the rate of two dragons a night this is going to take me awhile lol I can most times get the red and blue dragons but those golden ones - oi - they are tough.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/26/06 01:33 AM

Syd, why kill all the dragons? I never did simply because they weren't quest related and it truly was a pain just to get rid of a few (they constanly wreck your equipment). Have you gotten to the quests where you get the memory crystals?
Posted By: syd

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/26/06 03:10 AM

Hi Schwab - nope haven't gotten those quests yet - where do I go to get them? The only reason I'm killing dragons is to get to the obelisk which I just did laugh Now I'm trying to gather up the bodies of the dead so I can reap the reward - so I'm darting in, grabbing and running out before I get smacked by the survivors. I now have three more obelisks to go : Infested Waters, Hermit Isle and Paradise Valley.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/26/06 04:18 AM

You have to finish the council quests part, then you get to see the Oracle and get the crystals quest. It all relates to the central story.

Paradise Valley is a nightmare rolleyes

I know what you mean about taking a break. I need to do that sometimes. We just kept hitting the dragon with lightning, static charge, ice and implosion spells. It seemed that each time we healed up he hit us again. We were hoping that his wings would get tired as he was hovering in front of us especially considering his size. Some spells did nothing. Shrinking ray didn't work at all. Mass distortion didn't seem to have any effect. I wish I had something more powerful to use against them so I wouldn't have to struggle for so long.

Skippy if I remember correctly that was the dragon that got stuck in the wall for me. I just sat there for what seemed like forever and hit him with arrows until he expired.

For the ones in Dragansand I'm using Meteror Shower and Ice bolts with a bit of Sparks thrown in. That seems to at least slow them down some lol I am currently in the Superior Temple of Baa doing battle with Sorcerers, Magicians and the ilk - they are not fun.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/28/06 03:48 AM

Thanks Syd.

Have you or anyone else here done a quest at the Silver Helm Stronghold just northwest of Silver Cove? I can't figure out what I'm supposed to be doing there. The Prima guide states that the "Ankh quest" is given by Anthony Stone and Loretta Fleise and takes place in the Stronghold. I've been unable to get either one of them to give me this quest.

Maybe the book is wrong.
Posted By: Schwab35

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/28/06 04:55 AM

Skippy, I'm pretty sure you don't go to either person to get the quest first, you work your way thru the dungeon and the quest will start there.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/28/06 03:28 PM

I never got the quest from them either. Just sorta found the Ankh and gave it back to someone but I don't remember who right off hand.

I just got the scroll from the Superior Temple of Baa so I'm off to Sir Humpty Dumpty to give it to him. I've got all my crew trained up to level 60 and you'd think they could beat those dragons by now - nope - not on your life but we're still trying (I want the bodies of the ones I've already killed and the living seem to be protecting the dead) woozy
Posted By: Skippy

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/28/06 07:38 PM

I've trained up to level 60 also, and still find it tough to kill those dragons. I would have thought that this level would make us more powerful. The first time New Sorpigal respawned and we went back to wipe out the goblins we felt pretty good, almost invincible. I figured we would feel like that by now with stronger monsters.

Have you met the Titans? I hit them with implosion and it caused only 2 pts of damage. Oh my gosh. mad

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 01/28/06 08:25 PM

Haven't had the pleasure of meeting the Titans yet - oh goodie something else to bring me down a peg or two lol I'm still wacking away at dragons - I'm doing pretty good with them now - can actually get one or two of the red or blue before I have to head back to heal. Still can only get one Golden dragon at a time and that's when I'm lucky.

I did finally get the Oracle Quests - I already have one of the crystals from Castle Kreigshire - boy am I glad I grabbed that while I was there laugh

Skippy believe me it was just to horrible to think about. Nothing else on this computer bothered me one bit about losing but having to go through Darkmoor again was just too horrible to deal with lol

As an aside - I'm in Castle Alamos trying to find one of the crystals. Have you been in here yet? It's not too bad so far.

I'm working on Kriegspire Castle. I'm probably not too far behind you. I'm looking forward to finishing the game so that I can start a few games I got for Christmas. I want to play them now, but I know from past experience that if I load them onto my computer, I'll never finish this game. My four guys would never forgive me. lol

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 02/05/06 06:57 PM

I'm lost in Castle Kriegspire. I've done the circular chambers with the ramps on the sides and have pushed the yellow button to open the door with the bars. I know the memory crystal is behind that door, but first I want to find the jewelled egg. I can see where it is on the map in my prima guide, but can't open that door just west of it. I've cleaned out the large area with the bridge and ravine and have come up through the ramp that exits the ravine. I'm now in the hallway that leads to the egg, and yet the door won't open. There are grates near the floor beside the door where minotaurs are slashing at me while I'm trying to get past. When I click on the wooden panel(door)it says there is nothing here. I've tried ramming it but all that we got were some injured shoulders.

Any suggestions anyone?

Now that I know, I'll tell my guys they don't need to wreck their poor shoulders trying to break through the door. It's only a minor quest, so I'll carry on and just get the crystal. Lord Beacon's is a wonderful spell - just remember you have to first Set a location then when you want to go back look up to the top right hand and click on the arrow point up - that's the recall. Took me forever to figure that part out. Just make sure you don't set when you want to recall laugh

I also discovered the hard way that the priests at the Temple Baa in New Haven where I go to get healed are thieves! Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 02/10/06 04:35 AM

I'm having so much trouble with the titans. I find shooting arrows at them to be just about as effective and anything else. I've had some success with implosion. Even the most powerful spells don't make a dent in them. I sigh each time I see them coming.

I think considering the fact that we're not being paid for our efforts to save Enroth, we should definitely not feel guilty about taking what we need. whistle

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 02/10/06 05:33 AM

Gee there must be some spell I''m missing. Nothing I have works against the titans. We keep dying just trying to take down one supreme titan (blue guy). Very frustrating. I wonder how our predecessors who finished this game already managed to battle these monsters. I'm tearing my hair out. mad

Titans according to the SG:
resist to fire, immune to electric, resist to cold, resist to poison, resist to physical,
and immune to Magic....

well your choices here are rather limited...

I guess our best shot is to go with those resistant to and avoid the immunes.

Can't finish the Warlord one because of the Cruisant..isn't that a food processor???(oh, that makes sense)

So, I thought we'd walk down to Darkmore..or whatever that is..I can tell others this much..

I cannot finish my quests above mentioned and $$ is running short..I went back to the sewers to get some so I could level up..we're at 35-39 with magic folks lower..but of course..maybe today I can get something accomplised..like where is the Demon outpost that Temper wants me clear out??

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 02/11/06 01:03 PM

Hi all,

Well the last time I played I just went to the 2 houses that I needed to go to and didn't bother to kill the Titans.

I did however try to kill them in previous games and I think I used Meteor Strike (is that in this game?) wish I could remember for sure but after so many games after this one its not easy to remember what you used back then.

They are very hard to get rid of and you have to try everything you can think of.

Usually Fireball or Dragon Breath or Paralize or implosion work pretty good.

One of these will do the trick.

Don't remember if this game has shrink but that might do them in also.

I do remember that Fireball does hurt your own guys in these games so you have to be careful where you use it.

I hope that I was of some help. smile

Thanks Magic - so I guess then I'll make a mad dash for the building and hope I can make it laugh

Ingie my group is at level 66 right now and they can barely make a dent in these Titans so I have no idea how high you have to be. The only way I made it through the werewolves or any other place come to think about it, is by setting Lord Beacon's spell at the Temple of Baa in Free Haven (my favorite healing place since those priests charge 2 gold for normal and the most I've been charged for other ailments is 14) and healing every two minutes. I also found Acid works wonders on them. Both my Archer (who's now a Battlemage) and my sorcerer have that spell. That knocks out just about anything.

Anyway I powered up the Oracle and have my traveling orders and fellow Enrothers they are not pleasant ones frown I am directed to go to Dragonsand and I hate Dragonsand - so much for avoidance lol

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 02/11/06 09:08 PM

I'm heading to Varn in Dragonsand. Too bad we can't join forces Syd. Then we would be double trouble for those hydras and titans.

We're level 66 and feeling pretty miserable about now. I would have thought 66 would make us holy terrors. It's the other way around. We feel pretty helpless. I'll have to try acid (can't remember if I already have). If it wasn't for the no-flying across the borders it would have been much easier. It seems every direction we go when flying, by the time we get to the border and try to land, the ground below is swarming with monsters. I think we'll just have to take the road (the long way) and inch our way down south to Varn.

At least the sea terrors are individual monsters, and not joined at the bottom like the hydras.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 02/12/06 01:39 AM

Don't feel bad about your level, most people are at or above level 100 when they finish.

You will have to kill a couple of dragons hovering around the Tomb of Varn before you can get in safely, then set up some cots because the place is HUGE.

I don't know if any of you are doing this but what I liked to do was set a lloyd's beacon near the tomb entrance, then use town portal to New Sorpigal to heal at the temple, it's only 10 gold (as long as you don't have any special conditions like disease or whatnot), then recall beacon to zip back to the tomb.

Syd, stop healing at the temple of Baa! Think about your reputation!

How on earth did you kill those Titans????
Posted By: Skippy

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 02/15/06 02:04 AM

Well I had to reload and try again a few times, but managed to wear them down with implosion, acid burst, fireball and toxic cloud. There seems to be an element of luck involved. I tried the same routine twice and got different results each time. Sometimes implosion would hit them with 80 points and another time one point. The supreme titans are so tough that I usually don't survive. It just takes a little more luck to kill them.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 02/15/06 06:57 PM

How is everyone doing?

I just hit a snag. I made it to Varn, but thought I would zip down to Abdul's Resort to trade in my golden pyramids for prizes. I town portalled back to Blackshire where I had stashed my goodies only to find the chest empty with all my valuables gone, including my tiger statuette. The town must have respawned and everything reset. The stupid mistake I made was to not save enough under different saved games slots. In order to retrieve my stuff I need to load in a much earlier game, get my stuff and carry on. Unfortunately most of my Dragonsand work will have to be redone. I'm kicking myself.

Hey Syd, might meet you at Varn in a few days or possibly weeks at the rate I'm going.

The lesson learned from this experience is one I should know, save often. I usually do but this time I got careless and just kept using the same saved game.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 02/17/06 01:53 PM

Skippy I'm sure I'll still be in Varn when you get here - I'll still be in Varn when Ingie gets here laugh

I am periodically leaving VARN to take out a few more dragons. Seems while I was "gone" the darn place respawned and all the critters I killed already are back. The only good thing is that the dragons carry a might load of gold and I need it to train more. My crew is level 77 right now but you'd never know it the way they are getting knocked around.

I have been saving the same way you have - just over the top of the previous game. Not a good idea and I know it but I keep doing it [sigh]

Well I have my Alienware back and it's running as it should (so far) and there's so much interest in these games that I found a deal for the platinum edition and got it.

I have been checking all the hints etc and there is one for getting a lot of gold at the beginning of the game that says "Go to the well as soon as you walk into the village. Put the money in the bank, then kill yourself. Repeat this as many times as desired.."

I can't find any well that gives you money when you first start and when I died and got reborn or whatever I was broke.

Anyone know what this means?

I found the info here:

Didn't sound right to me either but I always need an edge when I start out these games. When they said kill yourself I'm sure they meant just stand there and take a beating without defending yourself until you die.

I now have a question that I can't seem to find in the manual. Forgive me for taking you all back to the beginning but when I equip a crossbow the character has their melee weapon in their hand and the crossbow on their back. How do I select which one I want to use?

Another question that I can't find answers for in the manual. In fact there's not a lot of info in the manual.

How do you increase the basic stats ie strength, intelligence etc.?

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 02/19/06 10:17 AM

The training centers only level you up, you can raise your stats by finding good armor/weapons, and also by clicking on magic barrels you will find all throughout the game. Certain potions will raise your stats temporarily, and some really powerful potions raise them permanently.

Re: Might & Magic VI partaay *Spoilers, of course* - 02/19/06 03:00 PM

John there are also rings and amulets that will increase your strength, magic, intelligence, speed etc. So make sure you pick those up and have someone in your party be able to identify or you'll spend lots of hard earned gold paying someone else to do it.

Thank you Nickie now I understand. I'm too far into the game to worry about it now though. Just finished running around in circles getting through Gharick's Forge and am about to tackle Dragoon's Caverns. I checked out the Temple of Baa near Iron Fist and gave up quick. Will return when I am much stronger.

I got the spell Lloyd's Beacon and couldn't get it to work. After several failure's I finally figured out that there are two settings one to return and one to set and I kept resetting the darn thing.

This game will definitely take a while.

Ingie I spent a lot of hours getting leveled up. I fight and then run just before dying then heal and go back and fight again etc. until I clear out an area. I concentrated my sorcerer on water so that I could get the Lloyd's Beacon. The two areas I can't get yet are Corlagen's Estate and Temple of Baa. In the estate they kill you with one whack.

Right now I'm concentrating on Council Quests and Promotion quests. Then will go back and pick up the Misc quests.

My first RPG was Betrayal in Antara and I find a lot of similarities.
