Sleeping Dragon problem - 12/30/03 08:07 PM

I am trying to install this game, it seemed to install fine but When I try to start the game, it gives me this mesage

"The BSBPC.EXE file is linked to missing export DSOUND.DLL:11."

What does this mean, please?

My graphics card is:
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64

My sound card is:
VIA PCI Audio Controller (WDM)

My CD Room letter is D:

Anything I can do?

Thanks for any help

Dsound.dll sounds like it might be a DirectX file.
So it might be a problem between your version of DirectX and your sound card drivers.

Some posts at the Revolution forum recommend reducing sound card acceleration, but I don't know if it would help this particular problem.

For Win 98/ME, check Mr. Bill's Troubleshooting Guide under #7B
http://www.mrbillsadventureland.com/howto/trshguide/trshguide.htm

For Win XP, check the bottom of Inferno's page here

I checked the minimum system requirements listed in the JA review here
http://www.justadventure.com/reviews/Broken_Sword_Sleeping_Dragon/BS3.shtm

and they say for a video card you need a GeForce2 64 MB or Equivalent (GeForce4 Ti 4200 or Equivalent Recommended)

So I'm not sure this game is going to play with a TNT video card, even if you do get the dsound.dll straightened out. If it needs the video card to do hardware T&L... frown

I spent a small fortune to get a new computer that has all the bells and whistles. The first time I tried to install BS:Sleeping Dragon, it said installation failed. The second try worked. Since then, when I try to play, it takes up to 20 times to launch. Message: read error. Today, I sent Dreamcatcher the report that was generated. I moved my saved games to another folder (I am in Congo 2) and am going to try taking the game back and getting a new one. Maybe the disc is bad. I really hope I can finish this game. I am actually able to figure things out!
