So this isn't my usual "territory"

But lately as the lack of any real RPGs with good storylines have been released, I've started looking into the world of more "adventure"-games. Recently I purchased Dreamfall - The Longest Journey, which so far seems very interesting. Other games that I am keeping my eye on are the Syberia games, which are supposedly good, as well as the prequel to Dreamfall.

What do you have to say about these (and feel free to recommend me other games, too)? I can't stand puzzles and puzzles for hours on end, I much prefer a neat storyline, not much obsctruction (as in solving weird problems the typical "adventure games"-way), interesting characters and easily playable.

I am open to recommendations.

The Lost Crown has an awesome story and is easy in the puzzles.

I think you would love Perry Rhodan...I find the game a work of art & the puzzles are not hard at all..

I don't care much for puzzle filled games either. I liked Dreamfall a lot. You might want to check out these games:

Hi Drizzt, have you tried Indigo Prophecy (AKA Fahrenheit)?
It's story lead & uses 'action controls' which, while challenging & infuriating, integrate well into the gameplay!

If you're talking about Perry Rhodan, the US publisher changed the name to Immortals of Terra. Here it is at Amazon --> ***here***.

Belief & Betrayal, Sherlock Holmes Nemesis, Dracula Origin are nice new adventure games, although I have just begun to play Sherlock Holmes Nemesis, the (almost) free 3D movement is different from the usual node movement but not yet as much freedom as in Myst 5, so if you want something fresh, try this one. Belief and Betrayal has a little bit of Gabriel Knight in it - Be sure to get the June release version as some say the earlier versions the voiceover is not as good. Dracula Origin is all about classic horror literature remade, with nice puzzles and quite a bit of class.

I'd recommend Culpa Innata. It has a strong storyline, non-linear gameplay, plenty of dialogue and enough - but not too many - puzzles, all of which are creative and interesting. My personal favourite of last year.

Dracula Origin is my obsession this year, but it's very puzzle heavy. Ah, go on, buy it anyway, you don't know what you're missing.

As an RPG player I guess you played The Witcher, if not it may be well worth your time and money.

In the adventure field I would say Siberia I and TLJ (I) are a must, they are hard to beat in quality and enjoyment, TLJ occasionally needs a peak to the WT for some "crazy" puzzles.

I consider Perry Rhodan an excellent game but it is not very easy or free from difficult puzzles, not too many though.

Yes, I have played The Witcher, but the absolutely awful and frustrating combat controls turned me off from it. I shall finish it if I ever have time in the future. Thanks, though.

Syberia is also on my "to try"-list.

Syberia 1 and 2 were just perfect, Still Life was excellent and Culpa Innata was a little treasure although there were a lot of conversations to endure.
