Working out while gaming? - 10/19/08 12:06 PM
Obviously inspired by the 'eating while gaming' thread, I wonder how many people are working out while gaming? I often spend my lunch hour on an exercise bike while playing a game. Unfortunately this is not really possible with PC games, but I have a PlayStation 2 with a couple of adventures (Myst III, Atlantis III, Glass Rose, Largo Winch, Shadow of Destiny), and ofcourse it also plays my old PS1 games like Amerzone, Broken Sword, China, Discworld, Dracula, Egypt, Riven, The Sacred Amulet and Versailles and an Xbox with Still Life.
This way, I do not get bored during my exercise and I can pretend to be cycling through the most exotic environments imaginable in stead of my boring old living room. The controllers are either wireless or have long cords so I can sit comfortably at about two meters from my TV. When I encounter a puzzle that requires some precision (e.g. sliders or combining objects) I do slow down a little.
I also sometimes start up more actiony games like Oblivion as they have very large worlds to explore (I tend to avoid the monsters though, as I have trouble keeping my cycling speed constant when I also have to aim and fire or slash at things).
I wonder if I am alone in doing this?
