Don't know how the rest of you feel about it think duh. Far as I'm concerned razz I'd like to run over the evil person reponsible for the random numbers puzzle in the room Sherlock and Holmes climbed up to with the ladies body in it. (and back up a few times!) Been three hours -- and no, I haven't got it yet. Aaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!! No to mention cry and tired and boooored.

scared Oh No, I haven't gotten that far yet and have thus far really been enjoying the game. I hope this isn't one of those stoppers which forces me to resort to a walkthrough and then discover how evil the word "Random" can be.

Those were my favorite parts! I love the puzzles, I wish there were more. lol

No Haze, it's pretty straight forward if you aren't usually a walkthru dependent person. I thought the puzzles were really very well thought out.

Hm, I haven't gotten this far, either. My computer has had some issues, so I had to stop fairly early on and haven't had a chance to get back to it yet. Yes, I agree that "random" puzzles like this are a pain.

I really liked the puzzle towards the beginning, however, where you had to figure out how the victim was killed and then do the crime reenactment. It was hysterical watching poor Watson having to play the part of the victim. wink evil

I admit, however, that while I enjoy the puzzles, I do play these games mostly for the experience of "playing through a story." So I'm more likely to choose a story/plot based game over a puzzle based game. This game - so far - seems like it has a very nice balance between the two. I should really get back to it so I can lament over this random number puzzle right along with you. grin

My husband and I finally figured it out after about 1 hour of trying. If you can't figure it out try...Hint:
Click to reveal..
Try clicking on each dark gray square and clicking accept. It's something about the addition of the 5 numbers in the square and if the last number is the main one then it makes those numbers disappear. I don't know if this will help or not...
it was a very confusing puzzle. Good luck!

Glad you got it gameho! We do try and keep hints out of this forum though, it can spoil someone's gameplay. I added spoiler tags.

The one puzzle I didn't like in this game was the lock on the briefcase (or whatever it was) because I had no idea which order to use.

Other than that, I don't remember any that are particularly annoying or difficult. ^^ Though, it has been a while.

I didn't find any random puzzles at all in the game except for parts of one where if you got the first part right according to info given you could work out the rest of it quite quickly on a random basis or otherwise could have researched from outside sources! All the others had a logical basis including one which I didn't like very much but could be solved in a matter of minutes randomly & probably quicker! than trying to work it out! lol
