Atara - 09/09/10 03:05 PM
I've been working on a puzzle/adventure game called Atara.
The game is almost completed, and will be released Winter 2010.
Gameplay video Demo I hope you guys enjoy! Also, I'm new to this forum. I'm already learning about tons of great adventure games I've missed out on! Loving it.

to Gameboomers Tom.
I love the video. If those pics on the right hand side are from the game they look fantastic. They remind me a lot of the Myst games. Very well done. Looking forward to hearing more about it.

I can not say that I'm looking forward to winter 2010
But this game
looks as if the winter might be ok after all.
Cheers
aboard Mindwave and your game looks good.

Re: Atara - 09/25/10 12:22 AM
The demo is now available on the website.
Lots of things will change between now and Winter, but hopefully I can get feedback that will better this game.
I don't really have a team or anything, just me. So it's a bit rough around the edges still!
Thanks mindwave!

It's a short but fun demo. I enjoyed the two puzzles and will look forward to the complete game. Thanks for providing it.
...and remember, even though there is no "I" in team there IS an "M" and "E". Your doing a fine job by yourself.
Looks and sounds very nice! I would have appreciated some walkways between locations, though, so it didn't seem so random as to where you could click to go. Haven't solved the puzzle yet.

Re: Atara - 09/27/10 12:29 PM
I just tried to download the demo and got a "page cannot be displayed" notice.
I'm using Win 7; should that make a difference?
I'll try again when I'm home at lunchtime.

Mary, I have had people say they had the same problem using Windows 7. Unfortunately, it only seems to work with XP and Vista. I'm looking into why this is.

Since money is tight, I had to ditch the website. Just letting people know the game will still be released.

Re: Atara - 11/13/10 01:23 AM
RapidShare sure is cranky, mindwave. I've tried to download the demo twice using the free download. The first time the download stopped in the middle. "Error." The second time, RS told me there had been too many stalled downloads from my IP address (one) or the limit on free downloads had been reached, though I could cure all that by signing up on RapidShare. Urgh! I'll try again later.

Absolutely. It never used to be THIS bad. I'll fix that right now.

Re: Atara - 11/13/10 03:02 PM
Thanks, Tom. It breezed down on Mediafire. I'll install the demo tonight. Looking forward to playing it.

Re: Atara - 11/13/10 05:36 PM
Downloaded from Mediafire with no problem. Installed OK. BUT I get a scripting error pop-up message "Control Array Element'1' does not exist" on firing up the game demo.
If I click ignore then I get what appears to be the opening screen BUT when I click play I get a pop-up "out of memory" message. I've 6 Megs, so this could be be misleading. This is using Win 7 64 bit, running game demo as admin. I tried compatibility settings without changing the game responses.
