About Silence
War rages on. During an air raid, 16-year-old Noah and his little sister Renie seek shelter in a bunker. There, not only are they protected from the deadly bombardment, but are also at the crossroads of a world between life and death: Silence. When Noah’s sister gets lost in Silence, he is forced to venture into this idyllic yet threatening world to find her.

Silence, however, bears its own scars of war and suffering. Dark creatures haunt towns and cities and ravage this once serene place between worlds. Only a small band of rebels stands against the looming menace. Now it is up to the siblings to save Silence and its fantastic inhabitants from impending doom and thus also save their own lives.

Join Noah and Renie on their exciting journey through Silence where an emotionally gripping story of contrasts between serenity and danger unfolds. Meet fascinating and likeable characters like Spot, the magical caterpillar who helps Noah and Renie on their way through Silence. And witness when the siblings discover that the only thing that can save them is their love for each other.

Features:
Elaborately designed 3D characters and opulent 2D backgrounds
Three playable characters
There will be exciting new characters, but also a reunion with old friends

Happy Gaming!

Thanks, Ana. I bought it from GOG today and played some more. Luckily, it remembered where I left off after the demo, which I wasn't expecting. thumbsup I won't have time to play much until the weekend, but at least a half an hour at a time is something. lol I'm really enjoying it so far. rah

Re: Silence: Out Now - 11/16/16 09:48 AM

I just downloaded the demo-what a disappointment. They have included mini balance games and some of us really HATE those. I certainly hope they can be skipped in the full game ? If not, shame on Daedalic for ruining their otherwise graphically beautiful game.

Re: Silence: Out Now - 11/16/16 01:39 PM

I agree opcvop. They don't appear to be skipable in the full game. I am an ex-librarian and have arthritic fingers so find lots of mouse dragging a bit painful. I wish devs would think about that when developing the interface. Just finished Yesterday Origins and had the same problem with that. However, the game is beautiful and, so far, not toooooo much of that balancing stuff. My only other criticism is that the cutscenes, although gorgeous, are a bit slow especially when you've just died or failed because you didn't make the right decision quickly enough (another grrrrr!).
I'll let you know how things progress but, so far, don't dismiss it on that basis. Anyone who has read any of my posts knows I'm REEEEEALLY picky about this sort of thing!!!

Re: Silence: Out Now - 11/19/16 04:23 PM

Well I've finished this game. Rather disappointed actually. Graphics are beautiful but I think the game relied too heavily on this and not on the gameplay. I do NOT want to play balancing games and I most certainly do not want to play dot-to-dot!!! What's that all about?!?!? And while trying to fight a seeker, so requiring a bit of quick time mouse work!
Sorry Daedalic.
I have relied on this developer making the sort of games I want to play but if this is the direction in which they are going I'm not so sure. shame

Re: Silence: Out Now - 11/21/16 12:01 PM

And another thing....Daedalic say there is a skip option for puzzles. It should be in the lower right hand corner. Has anyone seen that? I haven't, except in the prayer wheel scene where dialogue can be skipped. Which brings me to another criticism...that seems to be more or less the only place dialogue can be skipped. Makes the game very slow. There is no inventory and the game tells you exactly what to do with any items you are carrying which rather takes the fun out of adventure gaming!
I fail to see why Daedalic have strayed from tried and trusted interface and gameplay of their other great games.

Re: Silence: Out Now - 11/23/16 05:34 PM

It says like this on Daedalic´s support page at their FAQ for Silence (http://www.daedalicsupport.com/en/games/silence/):

"Every mini game offers an option to skip it. You can find that option in the bottom right corner."

Maybe someone from Daedalic can solve this puzzle for us, I suppose they follow what happens in the Gameboomers forum, but I could be totally wrong about that ?

They also have some savegames now:

http://www.daedalicsupport.com/en/games/silence/savegames.html

I have not downloaded them myself. I wont purchase the full game, until I am absolutely certain that I can get by those mini games. And it would be easier to do that with just a skip button.

Daedalic has links to our forum posts if we officially posted it, but I highly doubt the are watching it.

YOu could write their support though.

I'm guessing no one else has found this skip option so far. I'd be interested to see if anyone does.

Re: Silence: Out Now - 12/02/16 12:12 AM

I don't remember seeing any skip option also... and this game does have problems with loading times. It starts out well, but the more I played, the longer the load times... and it became totally unbearable and eventually my saved games won't load it all, they completely crashed my game... Luckily, Daedalic does have saved games uploaded on its page... and I had to load them into my saved directory in order to proceed with the game all the way to the end...

Re: Silence: Out Now - 12/02/16 01:41 AM

dianne, the same link I put in the first post for the free demo has an option to buy. It is a full game. I don't have time to look back on previous threads right now but I'm sure the keyboard question was answered in a previous thread. I think it's just like Whispered World was if you played that.

There is a skip option - but not in such places as balance mini-games. You can skip only some real puzzles unfortunately.

I noticed that.
They put the skips in the wrong places.

Re: Silence: Out Now - 12/04/16 02:03 PM

Thank you Iurii and Jenny100, that is useful information for those of us, who is still considering whether we want to purchase this game. I wonder if anyone in the forum has tested the savefiles on Daedalics website ?

Re: Silence: Out Now - 12/05/16 08:15 PM

For those of you who might be interested, I just received this answer from Daedalic to my question, if their savefiles were right after the balance mini-games:

"We don’t have savegames which are located directly after these parts, sorry. We didn’t consider this when creating the savegames."

End of discussion, I suppose.

Re: Silence: Out Now - 12/06/16 09:30 AM

The only skip I could find was during the prayer wheel sequence and that was only to skip dialogue (the ONLY place where you could skip dialogue btw).
It seems Daedalic underestimated the general dislike of the balancing parts altogether!!!
Considering how long this game took to develop, it wasn't very well thought through. Have lessons been learned I wonder?
